Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine's soft smile widened at Roxas' words. She was so glad he remembered, but not surprised. Both times this song came up were special, first with the ball, and then when she and Kairi sang it as a duet. The music kept going, reaching the chorus as Namine lightly set a hand on Roxas' arm, her eyes wandering down at the movement.

 

Roxas looked down at the gentle touch before he smiled a little more. He lifted that same arm and brought it back a little so he could hold Namine's hand. He had an idea, and was beginning to wonder if she would be up for it. But he had a feeling she would, since they would be reliving the moment he brought her to the garden at the ball.

 

Namine's hand slid down Roxas' arm and into his open hand without any trouble. She kept her eyes on that when she lightly gripped his hand, a small smile on her lips. Then she allowed her eyes to wander back up to Roxas as she brought up her other arm and lightly set her hand on his shoulder.

 

Roxas chuckled lightly. "I knew you would figure it out," he said, referring to what he had been planning all along. One reason he loved Namine: her brains. She was very smart, beautiful, and a great person overall. He was positive she had a heart of gold.

 

Namine smiled softly. "Actually, this was what I was thinking of all along," she confessed, looking up into his eyes. So, in reality, she had only done what she felt was natural in this situation. And it just so happened that Roxas was on the same page as she was.

 

Roxas smiled softly. "Great minds think alike, I suppose," he told Namine, his hands resting on her waist as they slowly swayed in the garden. The music played in the background, the lights were lit up amongst the flower garden... It was all set up exactly like that night.

 

Namine smiled softly, her thumb lightly running over Roxas' shoulder. "Mmhmm," she hummed in agreement, her eyes wandering away from Roxas' eyes and to the hand she had on his shoulder. Being with him like this, reliving something so special to her, was so indescribable. She couldn't even sort out all her joyous thoughts on how happy she was at that moment.

 

Roxas's smile began to soften as he continued to look at Namine, even though her eyes had already looked away from his. He felt blessed to have her in his life; he really didn't know where he would be without her being around. It comforted him to know she was there though, next to him. At the thought, Roxas pulled her a little closer to him, leaning the side of his head against hers as they continued to sway.

 

Namine exhaled a silent breath, feeling the warmth of Roxas' body now that she was closer to him. She slid her hand off his shoulder and to the back of his neck slightly, her eyes falling shut as she held onto the person she loved with all her heart. I don't want this to ever end...

 

Now being close to Namine, Roxas took in the moment. He closed his eyes and took in the feeling of having her in his arms--the real Namine. Not the one with the forgotten memories, or the one filled with fear or uncertainty like the past. This was the girl he loved and would always love, the girl that was so kind and gentle, so brave and determined, so beautiful and loving... There wasn't more he could ask for in a person.

 

Namine couldn't bring herself to play with the spikey hair on the back of Roxas' neck like she sometimes did. She didn't know why, but she found it hard to even breathe. All of this--the memories it brought back and how much this current moment meant to her--made her feel a bit dizzy. But she wouldn't have it any other way. As long as she was with Roxas, everything was terrific.

 

Roxas opened his eyes as the music flooded his ears. This song was special to him, something he never would have thought until a little while ago. This song had been playing when he danced with Namine in the garden outside the masquerade ball, and it was played in a dedication to him as well. Roxas brought Namine a little closer without thinking, the boy's eyes absorbing the sight before him.

 

Namine kept her eyes shut and allowed Roxas to pull her closer. Not only did being closer to him make her happy, but it also made her warmer. The summer night had gotten a little cool, but maybe it just felt that way because she was in a sundress. The blond girl pushed the thoughts away, only feeling peace and joy in her heart.

 

Roxas turned his head toward Namine, still holding her close. He brought his lips to her blonde hair, giving her a light kiss to her head before going back to his previous position. He just suddenly had that urge, and couldn't control it. But he knew one thing: Namine had a kind of control over him that nobody else could match. It was a good kind, of course, but powerful. Roxas wasn't sure how to describe it, but he knew he loved the feeling all the same.

 

The song ended much too quickly for Namine, but she kept a hold on Roxas even when the last chords faded out. She didn't even open her eyes. Whether it was because of her refusal to accept the song was over or just her desire to stay in Roxas' arms, she silently stayed in the position she was.

 

Roxas slowed their movement a little, noticing that the song had ended. It surprised him, really, because it felt like the music had just begun. Regardless, he kept Namine close, not wanting to let go. He would never let her go. Ever.

 

Namine released a silent breath through her nose, the girl turning her head slightly. She let it rest on Roxas' shoulder, her forehead by his neck. She couldn't help but hold on a little longer--she loved Roxas so much, and since she was feeling at a loss for words, she figured she would just have to show her feelings through little things like this.

 

Roxas planted his feet to the ground, making his movement come to a halt. The music went on, but he wasn't paying attention. Instead, his focus was on the girl in his arms. He side-glanced down at her as he kept his position, not wanting to move and ruin the sense of comfort she was hopefully experiencing.

 

When Roxas completely stopped their movements, Namine decided it was time to release him, even if she was extremely comfortable. She slowly pulled back her head, her hand staying on the back of his neck. Her soft eyes flickered open and she looked up at Roxas, a small smile appearing on her lips.

 

Roxas loosened his hold slightly on Namine, his eyes following her as she pulled back. When they finally made contact with her sky-blue orbs, he smiled. He didn't think he'd ever get tired of looking into those eyes he had grown to love.
