Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine leaned up and allowed her lips to connect to Roxas' in a light kiss. Automatically, her eyelids fell shut as she savored this moment with her one true love. A cool wind impacted her, making her shiver slightly. But it didn't make her pull away from Roxas at all.

 

Roxas felt warmth impact his chest as the gesture, the boy immediately reacting to it. He kissed Namine back softly, his eyes closing as he kept his hands on her sides. The light breeze brushed the back of his form, moving his spikes a little, but it didn't faze him; he was going to enjoy this moment with Namine.

 

Namine couldn't ignore how cold she felt, no matter how much she was enjoying this moment with Roxas. She pulled away, her head only an inch or two in front of Roxas'. "Be right back?" she whispered, her words sounding like she was asking permission to go inside and get a jacket.

 

Roxas opened his eyes when he felt the girl pull away, but they focused on Namine when he heard her speak. He nodded. "Sure, go ahead," he insisted. Whatever she needed to excuse herself for, he was sure it was important.

 

Namine smiled softly and gave Roxas one peck on the cheek before she pulled back and released him, her hand moving off his neck and her other one gently sliding out of his hand. She didn't wait for his response, since she just wanted to get a sweatshirt and then come right back out and be with him. She slipped past him, her arm lightly brushing against his.

 

Roxas turned slightly to watch Namine go, but after she was a good distance away he turned back. He took a few steps closer to the water fountain, putting a hand on the stone ledge as he watched the water fall into it. What a great garden... How long had it taken to create this?

 

A few minutes later, Namine was just about to head back outside. She had on a green sweatshirt that went surprisingly well with her sundress (it was coincidence; she knew she didn't have to look special for Roxas). But just as she was about to open the door, her eyes caught onto an open closet that head a giant blanket. And then her eyes wandered to the couch, where two pillows sat. Next, an idea came to her: Star gazing. She smiled and headed to the closet, getting out the large blanket.

 

Roxas kept himself occupied by wandering around the lit garden. He saw all sorts of flowers, and it kept him interested. He wanted to see if he could find other types, because they were all different and unique from the other. Roxas heard crickets in the outside world around him, the boy smiling at the sound. It was a sign of a summer night, ones he loved.

 

After she had everything tucked under her arm, Namine opened up the back door and stepped outside. The cool air didn't bother her at all now; she was perfectly comfortable. She shut the door with her foot and walked down the stairs, her eyes wandering up to the starry sky.

 

Roxas slowed his pace, which was a leisurely walk. He found himself rounding back toward the fountain again, having followed the path built into the garden. The water glistened in the moonlight and added light from the decorations. Roxas took in the cool air and the calming atmosphere, closing his eyes as he placed a hand on the fountain, a light sprinkle touching the tips of his fingers.

 

Once she walked down the stairs, Namine sat the pillows on the ground and unfolded the blanket. She spread it out over the grass, smoothing it slightly before she stopped her work and stood upright to look up at the sky again. It was incredible how bright the stars were that night--it was rare to see them at all, let alone seeing them shining this brightly.

 

Peaceful moments like this were Roxas's favorite. There weren't many moments of serenity in a big city like this, and escaping it for a few moments was one thing most liked to enjoy. Especially with the person you love. Speaking of, Roxas opened his eyes, glancing around the area. He wondered where Namine was, but soon his eyes found her. He smiled at the peaceful look on her face as she gazed at the stars.

 

Namine brought her hands behind her back, lightly clasping them together as she kept her gaze upward. It was so strange, looking up at the sky and feeling so small. She recalled at that moment how Roxas often found peace during thunderstorms. Well, for her, it was looking up at the sky. Just seeing the stars made her feel so in awe, like nothing else mattered.

 

Roxas let his fingers glide along the stone of the fountain as he pulled away from it. He quietly started toward Namine, walking along the path. He didn't want to disturb her moment of peace. Roxas knew that after all that had happened, those were essential right now. Especially for Namine.

 

Namine sensed movement out of the corner of her eye, and she immediately knew it was Roxas. After all, nobody else would have gotten into her backyard with Roxas around; he was always looking out for her, even if there was no apparent threat of anything. She lowered her gaze and looked at Roxas, her soft blue eyes landing on his bright blue's.

 

When Namine spotted him, Roxas came to a halt. He looked at her and sheepishly brought a hand to the back of his head, smiling weakly. "Sorry," he said softly, walking toward her again. "I didn't mean to disturb you..." After all, she had looked very at peace. The relaxed expression she held when she was that way was one of the best looks Roxas had seen on her.

 

Namine felt a small smile appear on her lips, the girl shaking her head slightly at Roxas' words. He would never disturb her, and she would always rather pay attention to him than anything else. But she didn't know how to put it into words, so she didn't bother trying. "They're beautiful, aren't they?" she asked softly, referring to the stars above them.

 

Roxas let his hand fall as he came to a stop at Namine's side, his head lifting to see the stars. "...Yeah," he said, almost breathlessly. With the lights near the garden, and his attention being focused there, he hadn't noticed how bright the stars were shining tonight. "Yeah, they are..."

 

Namine nodded wordlessly, her eyes wandering upward too. They were incredibly beautiful, but she felt more at peace because of the boy who was standing next to her. Her guardian angel. The person she could go to with absolutely anything without fear of rejection. The one person she would ever love: Roxas.

 

Roxas sighed softly in content. This was an overlooked beauty in life; nobody ever took time to look at the stars in the city, mainly because you couldn't see them. But at times like this, they were the most magical sight at night. With the soft music in the distance, the moment was even more peaceful.
