Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora sat himself down on the couch, hands folded as he leaned forward and let his elbows rest on his knees. He wasn't really thinking about anything--he had done enough thinking the previous night--er, morning. Now he was just staring off into space, waiting.

 

Kairi skipped toward Sora's door, and once she reached it, she rang the doorbell. Standing in front of his home, she hadn't forgotten about last night. True, she was concerned, but she believed everything would be alright soon. Kairi wasn't going to bring it up when she saw Sora, because he sounded pretty worried the night before. She was sure that worry was the last thing either of them wanted to experience today.

 

Sora immediately rose off the couch at the sound of the doorbell, a small smile forming on his lips. Kairi. He headed over to the door and opened it, seeing the girl he loved standing right there. "Hey, Kai," he greeted her, still wearing a smile.

 

Kairi instantly smiled. "Hey," she replied sweetly, glad to see him. Sora appeared to be happy as well, which was a very good thing to see.

 

"You ready?" Sora asked without thought, not really thinking about the pool anymore. Of course she's ready, you goof--she came to you. He was a bit distracted since he felt completely relieved nowt that he saw she was alright. He knew she was, but it was still good to see her without injury.

 

Kairi smiled a little more, nodding at the question. She looked Sora in the eyes and instantly felt that he deserved something to show that she loved him, and that she cared about him. His concern for her last night had been giving her the want to see him for the past few hours. Now that she was here, well, she wasn't going to hesitate. Kairi put her bag down by the door and stepped forward, wrapping her arms around Sora.

 

Sora looked down at the girl, confusion washing over his features. But he pushed away the confusion and wrapped his arms around Kairi, feeling so much better now that he was holding her again. He put one of his hands lightly on the back of her head, his eyes shutting as the side of his head touched the side of hers.

 

Kairi smiled slightly, keeping her hold secure around Sora's back. She didn't feel she needed to say any words; it felt to her like just the gesture was enough.

 

Sora exhaled a soft breath, his gaze falling to the ground as he became less tense. He lightly ran his hand over the back of Kairi's hair a few times, not really thinking, but just enjoying the moment while it lasted. He'd release her in just a moment--after all, they needed to get to the pool.

 

Kairi exhaled silently at the gentle touch. Sora was someone very dear to her, and she actually didn't mind the call last night. It let her know that he cared, but she would always know that. Their hearts were connected, and she could feel his care for her sometimes just through that.

 

Sora finally released Kairi, his hands going to her shoulders. But before he pulled back completely, he planted a light kiss on her cheek. A small smile appeared on his lips when he met her gaze. "We better go," he stated, "or Roxas is gonna kick my butt," he said with a grin, some playfulness coming through in his voice at the mention of his best friend.

 

Kairi giggled at the mention of the blond. "You're probably right," she said lightly, smiling. Roxas was probably just as excited about this as they were, and he probably would pick on Sora if he was late. They always did like to pick on each other. For fun, of course.

 

Sora released Kairi completely, his smile widening both in excitement to go to the pool and in response to Kairi. It was amazing how often she sensed exactly what he needed. He reached inside the door and grabbed his towel before shutting the door behind him, ready to go.

 

Kairi picked up her bag as well before bringing it over her shoulder. She then looked back at Sora before smiling and beginning to walk. It was time to head for the pool.

 

Sora caught up to Kairi and walked beside her, one of his hands lightly pressed against her back as they headed to the pool. About ten minutes later, they were just getting there. The Keyblade wielder noticed Roxas and Namine right away, the two of them waiting outside the entrance.

Namine looked up when she thought she saw a redhead out of the corner of her eye. She waved when she saw her friends, a smile appearing on her lips. She was wearing capris and a pink tank-top, her one piece blue and brown floral swimsuit underneath her clothing.

 

Kairi smiled, waving at the blonde girl she saw ahead. She walked alongside Sora as they began to approach the two, ready to get in the pool underneath this summer heat.

Roxas had been looking at Namine but when he saw her wave, he followed her gaze. A smile came to his lips when he saw his friend before him. He was wearing a T-shirt and blue and black swim trunks, ready to swim.

 

Sora took his hand off Kairi's back when they were right in front of their friends, using it to wave once. "Hey," he said, smiling. "You guys ready to get out of the heat?" He definitely was ready; the temperature had increased as he and Kairi walked to the pool.

Namine nodded in response to Sora's question. "Absolutely," she said with a smile. She and Roxas had only been out there a few minutes, but the heat was already starting to get to her.

 

Roxas nodded once. "You bet!" His smile grew into an eager grin, the boy ready to dive into the cool water. The heat was definitely increasing; he could tell by just standing here.

Kairi giggled. "Let's go, then," she insisted. She was ready to swim as well.

 

Sora grinned. "Then let's go!" he said excitedly, smiling to the girls and then to Roxas. Suddenly, he had an idea--as soon as possible, he would throw Kairi into the water. But first, they had to go in, so he was the first to get into the line, use his pass, and enter.

 

Roxas nodded with excitement, turning to Namine and motioning toward the entrance. He was beginning to sweat from this summer heat. He needed to get into that pool. Now. Or at least, he really wanted to.
