Different tastes I guess. I found SoM to have a better soundtrack than pretty much every Final Fantasy game to date.

They have both of those things on the PSP I think, I just can't use them because my PSP is so old that it decides when it wants to connect, and doesn't connect for long.

I usually only pay attention to game soundtracks when they're absolutely mind blowing, or extremely distracting, otherwise I don't even notice. I'm a bad gamer lol.

Golden Sun had one of my favorite game soundtracks I think.
    Yep.

Kinda hard to do local multiplayer on a handheld lol. I guess I shoulda defined what I meant: 2 or more players on one system. And I know it has online, just saying it would be even better on a console.

I like the music of Final Fantasy games, I just feel that Secret of Mana is better. Kinda funny to think that it's actually a spinoff of Final Fantasy actually.

    IX is my favorite FF, but that may or may not be the nostalgia talking, as it was the first RPG I ever played. I played it before I could read. ;_;
I adore III, VII, and X, though.

I got bored with the original Dissidia :/

It definitely would have been. Maybe they'll make a playstation package of both games soon, or offer a game download from PSN. They've been doing that with alot of games lately.

Not off topic, since we were talking about game soundtracks.

I just don't see how anyone can say anything beats FFIX's soundtrack, it's so flawless in my opinion.

SoM is ok, but nah, IX fanboy til I die.

Golden sun's soundtrack, not Final Fantasy's.

Trying to look out for you man, don't hate on me for it, the mods'll come down hard on you for straying from the path of the true original topic.

I recall something about Kefka being the only truly memorable thing about the game. He's the only thing you ever see of the game from fans if you have not played it, for instance.

... Are you serious? VIII was extremely dull. When you first start playing the game (for the first hour or two, maybe), what is gripping about it? What pulls you in? Is the world new and engaging? Are the characters intriguing? Was the battle system more fun?

    I'm not getting it.

Because Kefka is the only good thing about the game.

Other members of note are Sabin and Cyan, only because Cyan's a ****ing old badass, and Sabin suplex's a motherfuckin train, and holds up a building.

    Everyone else is useless.

^This is true. I honestly hate handheld multi-player.

But back on both Dissidias. I liked Dissidia 012 more, mainly because more characters I knew were in it. The first game, I only knew like 5, and I can play them pretty well. In 012, I'm still learning how to play Tifa, Lightning and various others who weren't in Dissidia. So I find Dissidia 012 superior in characters and storyline.

    012 makes me want moar.

    Except Vaan cuz he sucks.

Vaan's combat is actually really indepth and good, he's like Zidane, but a more magical kind of Zidane.

Vivi is the only one here who knows what he's talking about.

Especially since Square ****ed up VII

VI is not a very good game outside of Kefka.

Because you have to be on topic in the spamzone.

But Golden Sun did have a good soundtrack. Better than most games. And ALSO on the topic of final fantasy soundtracks

That's how I feel about Secret of Mana. XD

Anyways, I feel so strongly about it because Secret of Mana was my first RPG. It took me a few years to beat because of a certain penultimate boss that freaked me out as a kid. >>

**** man, V needs love, best ****ing Job class system in the series, with a really fun plotline, before the days of "oh everyone needs to brood more" let's have comical villains like Gilgamesh and hilarious little exchanges through the characters just through sprites and like 4 different frames of animations.

VI is really not that good.

Wait I didn't really pay attention to most of this but
is one of the most utterly incorrect opinions I have ever heard

    and Kefka was okay
EDIT: V was not only the best final fantasy but also one of the best RPGs I've ever played

Really? Hm... I'll have to try him out then.

Tetsuya Nomura's the one who ****ed Cloud up. He drew all the Characters from Dissidia and 012.
