Cloud continued and thought about what Rufus said about joining with them

 

"I acknowledge Shinra owes the planet alot. It goes without saying that my company and I are the ones who put the world in the sorry state it's in. Therefore, it's responsibility to set things right." Rufus sighed.

 

Cloud listened

 

"As a first step, we conducted a investigation in Sephiroth's wake."

"Yup, at the Northern Crater." Reno said from outside.

"What do you think we found? Nothing. Nothing at all. You can relax. However, not all went as planned. We were interrupted.... by the same three who attacked you. Kadaj and his gang.

 

"Kadaj..." Cloud said

 

"It's seems he doesn't want us to finish what we started.... Really, what could they be thinking?"

 

"what does this have to do with me?" Cloud said

 

"You're our buddy, aren't ya?" Reno said, and smiled when he said. 'Same as Yuna."

 

Cloud ignored Reno

 

"Kadaj's group is young and dangerous as they come. That's why we decided it might be in our interest to hire a little muscle." Rufus said.

 

"too bad Im only a delivery boy" Cloud said

 

"You're all we have left. Cloud, look, you're an ex-SOLDIER, right?"

 

Cloud turned away and headed to the door "heh in my head" Cloud said and stopped "What's this stuff about ... Mother?" Cloud said

 

"What? Did Kadaj say something to you? No surprise. There are plenty of kids who miss their mothers. That's the world we live in. I hear there are orphans living with you. Think about it, Cloud. Don't you want to put smiles back on their faces.?"

 

Cloud turned and walked up to Rufus "But I..." Cloud said

 

"Come on, Cloud. Together, we could rebuild Shinra," Reno said.

 

Cloud was a bit surprised at hearing this and turned away and walked out "not interested" Cloud said

 

Reno was locked out again.

~Church Ruins~

Tifa and Yuna watched as Marlene looked at the flowers. The door opened, but who entered wasn't Cloud. It was a silver haired man, Yuna got up and took out her weapon.

"Where's Mother, sister?" he asked, though Yuna was a bit surprised at being called sister, she didn't answer.

 

Cloud went to Zacks grave site and looked at the buster sword "I said I would live out both our lives... easy to make that promise" Cloud said

 

The man walked closer, when he saw the flowers, he pinched his nose. "Gross. Hey, where's mother?"

"There's no one here!" Tifa replied. The man held his arms out. "Fine, play with me." Marlene ran behind a pillar as Tifa slipped her gloves on and Yuna changed to Berserker. "This will be fun!"

Soon, the three of them began to fight. The man used a strange kind of weapon to attack and moved very fast. But Yuna and Tifa attacked together, each using their limits. They knocked him into a pew, Marlene shouted, "Tifa, Yuna!"

As about as she ran to them, a phone ring was heard. The man knocked the pew away and answered, though he wasn't crying, he sounded like it. He looked at them, he knocked Tifa and Yuna into the garden and was about to finish them when Marlene tossed a materia at him. He smirked and walked to her.


Jecht gasped, Braska looked at him. "Something wrong?"
