Does anyone here use Macromedia Fireworks instead of Photoshop?
Also could someone point any advantages or new features on CS3 photoshop that might be useful.

Fireworks is annoying, really almost anything from Macromedia is annoying, well except for Dreamweaver, I like that. But I prefer photoshop by a long shot.

But for CS3 there weren't alot of new things added that most people will notice, there was a bigger jump from CS to CS2, in 3 they just added like a few video filters and some professional stuff that I have yet to find, or care about.

What's annoying on something that's better than PhotoShop?
And if everything from macromedia is annoying then, what would you use for flash?
Also Studio8>CS1,2. I haven't tried 3 but I think I'll do as macromedia is owned by adobe now so no 9 versions of anything.

CS3's only new features are a few extra filters, layer styles/modes, etc...

Also, you can change the BG of the canvas to compare how the art piece looks on different colors. By BG, I mean the gray area outside the actual canvas.

Fireworks is a great program. Sadly, I'm way behind on it. I only have Fireworks 3.0 lol

PS CS3 isn't even that great. It's just a new skin is basically it. If you want it, you're better off staying on FW. lol That IS if you only use FW, though. I'm assuming you don't like PS too much though. :P

That's opinion. So there's little point in saying that. Others would say otherwise (like myself). Because obviously I have no idea how to work FW... and I'm just dandy with PS.

Thanks, that was what I was asking.
And yeah it's opinion but after using FW8p and PsCS2 I still prefered FW as working with layers(a lot better than in PS) and being able to make gifs is great.
