First Fall of Crimson Snow

Drake nodded and crossed his arms "that is correct, we will try to train you so that you will be able to defend yourselves better than before. Of course like I said earlier it is your choice if you want this training or not" Drake explained calmly to the group


Seth looked down at the flowers that he held in his hands "yeah maybe your right. I never really thought about it like that" Seth said with a smile but still...it never took away the loneliness I felt Seth thought, the smile he had was a fake one that he put on so that he wouldn't upset Elsie

 

Elsie fell into silence as she worked on finding the best herbs around her. She found a pretty good patch of different things. Thunder rolled somewhere in the distances, and Elsie smiled. "Looks like more rain..." Elsie rolled her stiff shoulders, but then winced and quit. She felt the scabs from her scratches pull apart slightly from underneath the bandages. She sighed and focused back on the plants. She wasn't going to complain, not her. She had to be the happy one in the group.

Hearing Scott's little statement made Kendra's stomach cringe inwardly. It looked like Scott wasn't interested... cause he figured he could handle himself. It wasn't a lie, but still. Kendra looked at Drake and shrugged her shoulders. "A little trainging wouldn't hurt..."

 

"The training will take place outside," Fay said, taking a few steps until she stood next to Drake. "You kids have powers. These powers we're not familiar with so having it outside would be best." She crossed her arms and lowered her head as she closed her eyes. "However, this is the first day of rest for you guys. If you want to train, then go ahead and tell Drake and I, but I do think it's best you guys rest a little longer and get to know one another."

 

Drake looked over at Scott It seems he is pretty confident in his skills. Training would still be good for him but whatever its his choice Drake thought to himselfand sighed as he heard Fay's explanation "she is right. So whenever you guys are ready don't hesitate to ask either of us." Drake said turned away"you kids have fun now" Drake said and walked away

"so how are your wounds? you shouldn't push yourself to hard if they hurt" Seth asked Elsie remembering the incident with the wire trap. He was pretty surprised that she was able to get up and run earlier with all those wounds

 

"Hm? Oh. No, I'm fine," Elsie lied. She smiled again and picked a few more flowers before standing up. "We'll stay here for a few more minutes and then we'll head back, okay?" Elsie looked up at the darkened sky and tilted her head slightly. "Looks like rain. And lightning. Kind of not safe to be out." Elsie's eyes scaned the area and she took small steps forward away from Seth. It really hurt, but Elsie had it in mind that as soon as they got back, she was going to personally treat the wounds herself so they didn't hurt so much. "So, Seth, what's your favorite thing about the forest you find interesting so far?"

Kendra watched Drake walk off and sighed out quietly. "That was interesting... and sudden." Kendra stretched out her wings and raised her arms above her. "So guys... what should we do?"

 

"I like how calm it is" Seth simply replied as he closed his eyes to try and feel the breeze blow by "I love the outdoor breeze. It calms me no matter how cold it is" Seth said as he opened his eyes and looked up at the dark sky

Drake sighed as he walked back to the cabin and took out a lollipop. He ripped off the wrapper and shoved it in his mouth as he walked into the cabin

 

Fay sighed and shook her head when she heard Scott. She took a step forward and grabbed Alyssia by her wrist. "Come on. Come help me look for Seth and Elsie." She turned around and began walking with Alyssia trailing behind her, but Fay soon stopped and looked over her shoulder. "I suggest you two go back inside," she said, pointing her finger up at the sky. "There'll be lightning." She looked back ahead of her and continued walking.

Alyssia looked at her wrist while she felt Fay pull her along. She briefly looked over her shoulder, but then looked back ahead of her, seeing Fay finally let go of her wrist. Alyssia lowered her arm down to her side and followed the Peaceful Warrior closely behind.

 

Elsie giggled softly. "Now you're being the poetic one... But you are right. The breeze is nice..." Elsie came to a tree and looked up at it. It was white oak... the tree she was looking for. She begain to peel the bark off of it and set it in her bag. "This guy, if you make the bark in a powder and stuff, can help with infections for cuts and stuff. Looks like we'll need a lot of this." Elsie forced a smile when she felt her arm scream out with pain in protest. She stripped some more pieces and then simply looked at the tree. She couldn't afford this. She was one of the supporting Peaceful Warriors. If she was down for the go, who was going to be the healer in the group? It almsot made her frustrated.

Kendra watched Alyssia being dragged off by Fay... Fay seemed to be a bit annoyed. Kendra then looked at Scott. "Alright... where do you want to talk?"

 

Seth ran up to her "are you alright? I told you not to push yourself" Seth said obviously worried about Elsie and pulled her back from the tree "you don't have to do this.I will so just tell me how much you need" Seth said walking to the tree and began to pull out some of the bark

 

"Where's Elsie and Seth?" Alyssia quietly asked as her and Fay entered the forest.

"All I know they're somewhere out here," Fay plainly said, her eyes darting from side to side. She heard Alyssia say something, but it was barely audible. Fay ignored it and continued forward, soon hearing voices not too far away from them. She stopped walking and looked around. "There they are," she muttered, spotting Elsie and Seth at a tree pulling off bark. She started walking once more and smiled when she was not too far away from them. "Seems like you found a few things," she said just loud enough to get their attention.

 

The moment he heard the arrival of Fay a dagger appeared in his hand and he immediately turned around ready to throw it. He raised his arm and was about to throw the dagger but stopped when he noticed it was Fay and Alyssia and sighed as he lowered his arm "that was close" Seth muttered quietly

 

Elsie looked over at Seth briefly, silently grateful for his help. She was about to apologize, when she heard a familiar voice behind her. Elsie turned about and saw Fay and Alyssia. She kept her arms straight to her side, her right hand had bark in it, and closed her eyes while smiling and tilted her head. "Hey there. So you caught up with us then?" Elsie was keeping her frustrations down within herself. No need to release it on the others. She then opened her eyes and smiled at Alyssia. "How are you feeling?" She did notice that Seth was about to shank someone with his knife, but stopped. She picked a good volunteer after all.

Kendra stayed silent as Scott spoke. He was obviously confused... raised in a totally different world than she was. Kendra experienced family and love, he probably never had that pleasure. What was she going to say to him? He was ready for her answer, and what ever she was going to say... he would probably take it as his final answer. Kendra stood there and stared at the ground while combining her thoughts together. When she had something to start off of, she let herself speak. "I think... maybe subconciously you felt like that wasn't... right. So when you met someone who couldn't defend for herself as well as you could, and you knew that they're similar to you... maybe something clicked in your mind that..." She trailed off. It was starting sounding stupid. "Maybe the idea of protecting something you were born to hunt seemed... refreshing." Kendra's eyes looked up at Scott, watching his reaction to her words. "Like maybe it was your soul purpose all along."

 

Fay smiled at Seth and placed her hands on her hips. "Well, glad to see you're on your toes," she said, laughing a little. "Are you guys almost done? It's most likely going to start pouring again and by the looks of it, there'll be lightning."

Alyssia took a step to the side so she wouldn't be standing behind Fay. She raised her hand and lightly waved it at Elsie and Seth. "I'm okay," she responding, a smile crossed on her lips. "You? Are your wounds okay?" The girl's eyes looked over Elsie, noticing the girl was keeping her body fairly stiff. She must be in pain.

 

"They're okay," Elsie said with a grin she mustered deep within herself. She then looked over at Fay and nodded her head. "Yup, we're done here." She stuffed the bark into her knap sack and then made her way over to Fay and Alyssia carefully. She really wanted to stay out longer, but with the storm and her wounds... it wouldn't be fun to stay outside anyways. "Come on, Seth! Let's head back. Thanks for the help, by the way." She remembered her manners. That was a good sign she was doing a great job pulling off the 'I'm perfectly fine' mode.

 

Kendra's eyes widened in surprised as she felt Scott's lips on hers. Her wings even perked up a bit from the sudden movement. What was she suppose to do? This wasn't something that she planned out to happen. She felt her heart pound in her chest with the sudden emotions that weld up inside her. She couldn't slap him, her muscles were too rigid. Finally, not knowing what else to do, Kendra quickly stepped back and broke the kiss. She just stared at Scott with wide eyes, not sure what to do. She felt stupid as she felt heat rise in her cheeks.

Fay turned around and began heading back towards the cabin, expecting the others to follow after her. She kept her head down, staring down at the soil beneath her feet. Her eyes suddenly fluttered, feeling a rain drop fall against her cheek. "Already?" she muttered, raising her head to look up at the sky. "Come on, let's hurry back," she directed towards the others, picking up her pace.

Alyssia faintly smiled at Elsie, knowing she was lying. Just by the way she looked, she knew the girl was in pain because of all the wounds. Figuring it'd be pointless to say anything, Alyssia turned back around and followed Fay, staying completely quiet.
