First Fall of Crimson Snow

Fay looked up at Rowan, nodding her head in response. "Yeah, we're okay," she said, seeing that Rowan had Elsie. Fay smiled as she grabbed Alyssia by the arm to help her stand up. "What about Scott?"

Alyssia sighed out, beginning to feel the pain on her stomach go away. She looked up at Rowan, her gaze hovering over Elsie momentarily. Her eyes softened, before averting her gaze down at the ground as she stood up on her feet.

 

"Scott will be here soon... I think he taught the enemy a lesson of not messing with us... Especially our youngest member." At this, Rowan looked down at Elsie. She could see the crimson starting to seep through and she felt her heart drop slightly. Everything just happened all at once, it was no one's fault. She then looked up at the two and then gave a small smile. "Let's head back then..."

Rowan didn't feel at ease letting the enemy go, but they were no match for those two. Their strength had all but vanished, and it would be suicide to go after them right now. 'We'll prepare for next time.'

Elsie continued to look down, not wanting to look at anyone. She was too tired, too much in pain to say anything. She couldn't complain, because she brought this on herself. So she just kept her mouth shut.

Clay numbly nodded his head in agreement. "But I think the rebels have her," Clay said in a harsh whisper. It was still hard to talk for him, but he just sucked it up and delt with it. "Maybe we should just go back and get reinforcements..."

 

Drake silently walked and lead Scott over to the camp. He didn't say anything threw the trip to the camp feeling a bit guilty about not being of much use to them during the fight. As he walked he noticed Scott lagging behind and looked over his shoulder at him "are you alright? If your too tired I will take Kendra for you" Drake said

Having arrived in the camp, Seth struggled his way inside and used a wall for support "tsk damn it I can control it properly" Seth muttered as he suddenly fell down to one knee, keeping his hand on the wall and began panting

 

Rowan then turned and started to walk back. She knew that since Fay was with Alyssia, Alyssia wouldn't get lost. She needed to get Elsie treated right away. 'I wonder if Drake can help...' She sighed out quietly and looked up at the sky. The rain was starting to let up. Thank goodness...

Rowan felt like she had failed everyone here. Here she offered protection and peace, but it was being twarted and tampered with now. There was nothing she could do about that. But if she could, she would destroy the RNA herself. "A perfect republic... what a bunch of bull crap."

"Yeah... I'm up for that..." Clay's knees suddenly buckled and down he went. He quickly caught himself and stumbled along with Luke. He wasn't going to stop if Luke wasn't going to stop.

 

Drake nodded "alright then just ask me if you need anything" Drake said and continued to walk forward until he came upon Rowan up ahead "hey Rowan hows Elsie doing?" Drake said. It was obvious to him that all the medical treatments he preformed earlier was for nothing

 

Sinder awoke to the sound of echoing gunshots.

"Oh look they left without me.

Such a surprise."

She smirked at her joke and made her way to stand.

The dragon girl unfurled her wings and stretched.

"Well, I guess I'll just have to follow where the echoes came from...

Hmm...

Fifteen miles East, not a problem."

She eased her way through the bush and trees, like if she had all the time in the world, and stopped to smell every flower as she made her way to the others.

 

Fay let out a sigh of relief, glad to know nobody was taken by the RNA member. If that did happen, things would have only been worse. She lightly pulled Alyssia by the arm, making her follow her back to the cabin.

Alyssia briefly stared at Elsie before lowering her head to stare down at the soil beneath her feet. Her eyes narrowed, feeling herself be pulled away by Fay. Having no strength to pull away, the girl simply let herself be pulled along as she continued staring down.

 

A few moments later and they were at the cabin. Rowan smiled slightly and turned her head to where Drake was walking behind her. "She's been quiet... I wouldn't blame her though." Rowan then looked down at her and examined her breifly. "Her arm will need to be looked at again..." Rowan then went up to the cabin door and opened it for everyone else while stepping inside. She then noticed how drentched she was when she stepped into the house and the water off her jacket was starting to drip on the floor. It was cold, since no one had started a fire in the fire place or turned on the generator heater, but everyone would have to deal with it.

Without waiting for anyone, she just started to walk towards the infirmery with Elsie. She would've made a comment about Elsie visiting it again, but decided not to say anything. 'She already went through a lot...'

 

Drake sighed as he walked in and shook off the water that wet his hair and followed Rowan to the infirmary. As he walked he looked over at Scott "if you need any medical care head over to the infirmary" Drake said as he walked into the infirmary and got out things needed to treat Elsie

Seth sat against a wall panting tsk damn it how am I going to get rid of all this energy Seth thought to himself. The pupils of his crimson eyes were now cat-like

 

Without another word, Rowan laid Elsie gently on the bed and then stood up. "Alright Drake, I trust you to take care of Elsie. I'm going to go check up on other things really quick. I'll be back to see how Elsie is coming along, alright?" Rowan then turned away from Elsie and walked out of the room. She was glad to get away from the scene for a short bit. Seeing Elsie like that made her sad. As Rowan walked through the base, she could see someone sitting against the wall and panting. She matched who it was in her mind. "Seth?" She briskly strood over to him and examined him careful. "What happened? Are you alright?" She mentally slapped herself. 'What a stupid question, of course he doesn't look alright.'

Elsie sat up a little in bed while craddling her injured arm. She lost her gun somewhere in the forest, and she was used as a hostage. Ha, that wasn't acceptable. She ended up causing more problems than helping, and now her right arm was almost completely useless. Great. Fantastic. She bit her lip, trying to fight back the tears. Not only the pain brought her tears, but also the thought of failing her duties as a Peaceful Warrior. Her called a Peaceful Warrior? What a joke.

 

"relax your wounds are fresh, Try to not move. I'm going to treat your wounds" Drake said calmly as he removed the lingering bandages on her to start with her wounds. He was trying his best to remain calm in the situation. He felt annoyed at Elsie for going out like that and also really sad for her, but the thing that burned in his mind was the hatred for the RNA

Seth just continued to pant not looking up at Rowan as he panted "too much energy, Its not the same amount of energy I feel when at the camps" Seth said as he suddenly held his head "it hurts" Seth muttered loudly, his crimson cat- like eyes open widely

 

Rowan raised an eyebrow while watching Seth struggle with the power. "If it'll help, you can release the power outside. We've beaten the enemy back, you should be fine. There's plenty of dead trees that need to be chopped down anyways." She was being calm and collective, trying not to panic. Each kid had their own abilities, and each of the P.Ws needed to know how to adapt to the kid's power. This was a start.


Elsie just simply nodded her head and moved her arm out to let Drake treat it. There was no need to explain herself, she would just be told never to do it again.

Kendra felt her senses coming back to her now. The dead silence she was experiencing earlier was replaced by the soft movements in the cabin, and someone breathing beside her. That was the first things she noticed, and then came the headache. It was dull, but it was noticable. She winced slightly, feeling slow and slugglish. Everything felt heavy to her, even her eyelids. 'What happened to me...?' she thought. She forgot about the little incident in the woods, so she was at lost where she could be at. She could feel something ontop of her... maybe a blanket?

 

Seth looked up at Rowan and nodded as his arms suddenly started to glow "I have to hurry" Seth said as he got up and tried to head to the door but toppled down and was struggling to get back up

Drake sighed and began treating her arm. "this will sting, please endure" Drake said as he began to rub the antibiotics. Once he finished rubbing it he began to stitch her wounds once more. He remained quiet through the process

 

Rowan was right by Seth's side, helping him get up from the floor and wrap his arm around her neck to rest it on her shoulders. "Easy there, let's take this one step at a time." Rowan eased her way through the cabin while holding Seth up, meanwhile thanking the heavens that she was strong enough to hold this kid up. 'All that training really did pay off...' She didn't pay any mind to Scott and Kendra as she passed by. She opened the front door and stepped outside with Seth, moving him along until he was just a bit further in the front "yard".

A hiss of air escaped from Elsie's clentched teeth as Drake worked on her arm. She had to turn her head to the side when he pulled the needle out and clutched the sheets with her free arm. 'Here we go again,' she thought.

Kendra heard a soft voice while she was becoming concious. She wanted to respond, but it felt like it would take up too much energy to even say a single word at the moment. Her eyelids were starting to feel less heavy with each passing moment, and gradually she opened them. The room above her swirled and she had to close her eyes again as she felt her stomach suddenly doing flip flops from the motion. 'Boy I'm not feeling so good...' She figured that she shouldn't push herself and kept her eyes shut. But... she felt like trying to speak to the voice. "Hey..." Her voice sounded alien to her, but at least she got something out.

 

Alyssia sat at one of the counters, her arms resting on the top and her head resting onto of her arms. She was tired and her stomach was beginning to feel better from the blow she had taken. She hid her face from the light that came from the kitchen, not wanting to look up at anything. "I hate this," she murmured, sighing out heavily shortly afterward.
