I always figured most of the random guys coming up to me over the years were always just using me as a target to joke around with their guy friends. Like that time on the beach. >_> So I decided to myself, if the guy asked a second time, that would mean he was serious. That's only for random encounters. As for.....friends. I jsut make the whole situation awkward. And I have still yet to feel an actual complete "crush" on anyone so far. Most of the time i feel small flutters of potential crushes, but then they fade away over time. So I guess I'm just kind of.....a rejecting person. Until I find that perfect someone. >_>

What's wrong with "staying"? Sure, sounds awkward and the other one's better. But is "staying" really wrong? Listen to your heart, look deep inside your soul and answer me then: is it really, Dalk? Is it?

 

"Staying" generally implies through the "-ing" ending that the subject is currently in the middle of some process while the sentence is being said. You pointed out the hypothetical situation that posting why is this thread still alive helps this thread to stay alive. Since that is not currently taking place in the sense that your statement implied, I'd have to say yes. Yes it is. :B|:

But while the person is posting "Why is this thread still alive?", the thread is indeed staying alive. So it is currently happening when they are posting that.
