Fruits Basket: The new zodiac

Kangen ate her lunch quickly and quietly. Dodging glances, she tossed the remains of her lunch away. 'Oh no! I left my phone in the classroom!' So she ran inside.

In the hallways, she spotted the guy with black and white hair being lectured by some boys. Overhearing their conversation, she decided to jump in.

"Hey. Can't you punks cut it out? You don't know, maybe that is his real hair-color!"

What seemed to be the leader snapped back at her.

"Shut up, shortie. You're one to talk! Your hair is probably bleach-blond!!"

 

Nai walked the halls of the school, having just finished her lunch.
She was going to get her back-back; because it had her notebook, and she had planned on writing some of her story.
She almost bumped into the back of a boy in her grade.
"U-um...excuse me...can you please move...?"
Nai questioned, wary of the pack.
"UH! Another school-cretin. Dying their hair these terrible colors!! Your hair is white for gawd's sake!"
The boy that had spoken grabbed a fist-full of her hair, yanking hard.
"OW!!!! L-LET ME GO!" Nai shrieked, before thrashing violently, attempting to make him let her go.​

 

In what seemed to be a quick change in personality Sai grabbed the ring leader with a smirk.

"I'll prove to you that this is my hair color"Sai said still with a smirk.

"Oh? and how do you go and do that?"Leader asked still confident.

"This is how"Sai answered dragging the leader into the boys bathroom within a few seconds they come out the leader with a red face.

"That is in fact his natural hair color and I think it goes for the girls as well"he said with a nervous chuckle as he walked away, his group following behind.

 

Eva sighed, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Why do guys have to solve things the hard way?" she muttered, closing her notebook.

 

Nai rubbed at her scalp,
and whimpered.
Her head hurt, now.
She was glad that the hair ordeal was over, though.
"Thanks for proving your hair color to him. How did you prove to him that its your true hair color, though?"​

 

Turning to the girl his smirk widened walking over to her he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"if your really that curious I can show you"Sai said with a chuckle.

 

Nai blushed lightly,
looking at him weirdly.
"Show me.......?" Nai shook her head no.
"I'm not sure I want to know...."​

 

Smirking as he stood up straight only to hit his head against the wall behind him, wincing in pain a bit Sai blinked his his eyes a bit. Looking around confused.

"Whats going on?"he asked.

 

Nai looked at her classmate,
confused.
"Well, you just proved to the guys that left that that's actually your hair color,
and i was wondering how..... you don't remember?"
Nai cast him a wary glance,
before running a hand through her hair and entering the classroom.​

 

Looking confused Sai let out a frustrated sigh slamming his fist against the wall.

"why does that happen?...out of no where I get...urg I don't know..."He said as he grabbed his things and walked out of the room to the roof. Reaching the room sighing seeing that no one is here he walked over and laid down in the sun and began thinking.

"Something is wrong...we kept moving...mother was scared of something...She said I was definitely like my father...who was a sohma...who are the sohma's?"He said out loud to himself.

 

Eva sighed, then lay on the grass, stretching. She was sick of school, sick of not knowing. Why couldn't this all just go away?

 

With a frustrated sigh he stood up and went to the railing of the roof and jumped it not caring how high it is nor who sees him.

"Fine i'll find out who the sohma's are then i'll finally get to know what I am"He said to himself.

AFTER SCHOOL!

Nai sighed,
grabbing her things and walking home.
She entered the house,
and saw her Grandpa Shigure talking with someone...

"Papa! I'm ho- who's this?"​

 

Eva had skipped the last classes, and sighed, making her eyes close. Her head pounded along with her heartbeat.

 

Walking around town with boredom he stopped in front of a big front gate of a big house.

"Dam someone really important must be in here"Sai said with a whistle.

 

Nai looked at her grandfather.
"Oh!! Nai-chan~~~ <3 (xDD) this is your uncle Yuki!"
Nai looked at the man, who looked about in his early thirties.
Her had white-sh gray her...
Just like hers....

"........How does Papa Shigure know you....?" Nai asked, suspiciously.

"Well....you see-- I think it's about time your 'Papa' told you the truth. But since he won't, I'll have to show you."

Nai was curious as to what he meant, but before she knew it--
arms were around her.

Sai was about to walk on until he saw the name 'SOHMA' on it, tilting his head a bit until is FINALLY click he ran to the gate and started yelling.

"WHOEVER'S IN THERE COME OUT YOU WOULDN'T WANT ME DOING SOMETHING REGRETFUL" he yelled shaking the gates.

 

Nai was awestruck.
She looked down at herself.

With a switch of personality sai walked off with a slight hint of anger.

"heh someone in my class has had the name Sohma as well hmm lets see what I can find"He said to himself as he ran in to a direction.

 

'Yuki looked at her before speaking.
" Nai... you are a member of the cursed family..the Sohma's. You are the zodiac Rat.

Years before you were born, I was the zodiac Rat...
and now it has been passed to you.
Whenever a member of the oppisite gender hugs you, or you become weak-- you will transform. Be wary..."

Nai heard another "POOF!" and she turned back into a human.

Her grandfather Shigure passed her some clothes. Yuki had turned around in time.

Nai quickly got dressed, and looked down at her hands.

"I-I'm....cursed?"​
