General Pokemon Discussion

I noticed that there are quite a few Pokemon fans on the site, if there is any indication from the number of posts from my Deoxys topic. Here I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to create a general thread for it, if people want to talk about past and future games and what not.

First, let me list some of the current hot topics in the VG world of pokemon.

Diamond & Pearl, the fourth generation of pokemon.

-Platinum confirmed for this fall. Giratina available. New use of the DS 3D engine. New main character designs. Tweaked story. New characters, etc.

-[Rumor] Gold and silver remakes. Possible titles: Dusk gold, Dawn Silver

 

Oh man. If there's Silver & Gold remakes, I will have an orgasm.

Gold and Silver remakes!? That was when pokemon was in its prime!!! Im get'n those for sure @_@

 

i don't think i'm going to get anymore of the games.cause they will keep making new games and new pokemon.don't get me wrong,i still like pokemon and stuff,but it's just getting crazy with all of the games that are out and or coming out.

 

Thats what I thought when I quit after Ruby then I got sucked back in ;_;

 

Settle down. They aren't even confirmed yet. I'll cream myself as much as the next guy will if this happens, but lets save it for when it's confirmed.

What about Platinum? There's a lot to be excited about that.

 

I really dont want to go any farther than the third generation but I think Ill give it a chance with Platinum

 

Anyways, I just noticed in Ampex's platinum topic that he got the facts a little confused. Platinum won't be out early 2009. It'll be out in the fall, probably just in time for the holidays.

 

The character art of the first lad made me think he looked a bit French. :P

I never bother with Gold or Silver back in the GBC days, but we'll see if they're worth the remake.

 

While Platinum atm is the only announced one, that's great but... G/S > new Pokemon games. I've been waiting for information about those two remakes since Leaf Green and Fire Red came out. lol

But yeah. Platinum is the only really official one atm, so I guess I should be more excited about that.

 

As soon as I hear the confirmation of G/S, I'm really gonna just forget about all about Platinum. I'll gonna be like OMG LUGIA!!!:party-smiley-013:

More like a snake xD.


I wonder if its' new form will change its type. It doesnt look much like a dragon anymore so it might be Ghost/whatever now. But it would suck to lose the epic advantage of being a tough as nails dragon that's completely unaffected by normal attacks.

 

This one person actually compared it to a slug on another forum.

I'm excited about torn world. Full 3D engines, baby.

And the Regis are in this one. Regice, Registeel, and Regirock.

and really, I doubt that they'd change the type. Deoxys has four forms, and it doesn't change types from form to form. And Dratini is a dragon even though it doesn't look like one. Why should Giratina not be one even if it changes appearences?

 

Yeah, I doubt it would change. But even Shaymin gets an extra type in Platinum~ And im happy about the Regis too. Also, I hope the the release of Platinum is soon followed by a Azure flute event, since to my knowledge there hasnt been one. Plus, since there might be a chance of Palkia and Dialga both being available, it would be cool to have Arceus since he made them both and the 3 sprites.

 

I'm thinking iit'll be like Emerald in a sense. Once you catch the Cover legendary, the other two go off to someplace else and wait for you to come by and catch them.

And I'm sure there will be an Azure flute event sooner or later.

OMG it took them long enough. Gold and Silver are the two best pokemon games in history, with the possible exception of D and P. But Platinum is also coming out, so Dusk and Dawn might be postponed.
