Genetics curse

"Yeah... stupid powers that i didn't know I had," she shrugged. She stared at Nathaniel.
"By tomorrow, he'll look like a three year old," she said.

 

He gasped. "How do you know?"

 

"Because, when I was born, I looked like a three year old. My genetics make us age faster, and curse us with a young body. I always looked half the age of my mother. So, in a week, he'll look around 7 or 8. He won't age unless I do," she said, taking a deep breath.

 

His eyes widened a bit. "H-how old are you really?" he asked.

 

She chuckled and shook her head.
"Well, I'm 16 forever... But my true age is 110," she said, looking up at him.

 

His jaw dropped and he stared at her.

 

She looked away.
"That's the age my mother discovered her power," she chuckled, looking at Nathaniel."He might get his earlier, where you've gotten a dragon gene along with fire and ice," she smiled.

 

"It's only Ice and Water now." he said. "The fire was only apart of Horuk. I'm surprised he hasn't gone on a rampage yet."

 

She gasped and looked at Nathaniel.
"Will he do anything to Nathaniel?" she asked, worried.

 

"He might, but don't worry. I'll protect our son with my life." he said.

 

She gasped, her heart sinking, holding Nathaniel close.
"Just born and already in trouble," she said, standing up.

 

"Don't worry." he repeated. "As long as I'm around, he'll be safe from Horuk."

 

She nodded and brushed his hair with her hand.
"What last happened to Horuk?" she asked.

 

"Last thing I remember is he was watching me fight against that other guy. Then we fled to the forest." he said.

 

She nodded, a slight breath coming from her lips.
"Do you know where he is right now?" she asked, curious. She handed him Nathaniel, already seeing him grow slightly.

 

"No." he said. "I have no idea where he is or what he's doing."

 

She nodded, and stood up, heading to the door.
"I'm going to go find him," she said.

 

He stood up as well. "Why!?" he asked.

 

"I will not have my baby's life endangered from something I let lose..." she shuddered, heading to the door.
"Don't you dare follow me and put his life in danger," she said, walking out the door.

 

"You can't do this!" he said, following her out the door. "This isn't your fight, it's mine. It's always been my fight. I have to be the one to finish him, I'm the only one who can."
