What if you are depressed on the inside, but do not show it or really talk about it? What does that make you?

Goth is a type of music from the 80's.
A good example of a goth band is Bauhuas or The Sisters of Mercy.

Yes Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy are more in the "Old School" crowd if you wish to put it that way. Newer groups include The Covenent{not the movie}, Switchblade Symphony, London After Midnight, The Cruxshadows, and Faith of the Muse.

Most of the music has a surreal sort to it. Synthezizers mixed with violins and electric guitar and the crooning sounds of the singers. I especially love the groups with a female singer such as Faith and Muse's 'Anwynn, Beneath the Waves.' The singer's voice is wonderfully soft yet the tone behind her is heavy.

But it might not be everyone's cup of tea. There are a lot of more 'edgy' themes in the music. KMFDM is more heavier along with Angelspit and a few others.

But when you can sit and listen to the same radio station for near 8 hours at a time, the music has to be good.

im really sick of this emo crap, sterotypeing is ruining the world.

i like wearing dark clothes and have long hair which makes me emo for some reason, how does that even make sence? ive had a bottle thrown at me as descrimination againts emos and all i was doing was walking with one emo friend and a friend who was by chance wearing a black jumper on that day while i had my usual look.

in the begining emos were just overly emotionally people and now that emo has been confused with these "oh life is pain" bull crap its being used as an insult.

I'd like to clarify, and I apologeize if I said this before, that Goth does not mean the same as Emo. They are two entirely different things entirely.

Goths, often referred to as 'Gothics', were so named because of the resemblance to the barbarian tribes{Visigoths and the Ostrogoths who ransacked Rome}. They wish to express themselves as different than the people around them. Be different than anyone else. But often when you have a group of people wanting to be different there are similarities. They often shock with their appearance while others have a fascination for them.

Emo is a genre of music {Goth is as well but just bear with me} that often deals with 'Emotion'. The fans of such groups as MCR, and Fall Out Boy{I apologeize if I'm stereotypical but those are the ones I know of} often dress to emulate the people in these groups.

Both groups do dress often in black and have an obsession of eyeliner. But be cautioned with calling a Goth an Emo. Some take it as a grave insult

Emo isn't even a style or state of being, its a style of music. You can't say a bunch of kids are a style of music, that doesn't make sense.

Most people who are commonly referred to as "emo" are actually more accurately categorized as "scenesters". I would consider myself to belong to this group.

Actually emo music are bands like "Rites of Spring" and "Sunny Day Real Estate".

    Just thought I'd clarify that.

    Kid: Are you emo?
Me: I am not a type of music
    Kid: ......

Yeah...Kids are so mean nowadays. They outcast people because the dress different , belive in diffrent things , or listen to diffrent music and what they don't know is that , that one person can be really nice.
