Dude, watch it. There's no need for that stuff here.

IV was just horrible in terms of swearing. I can handle some but every second word was the f-bomb and it wasn't necessary. It was a turn off and I'm not the only one that thinks so. Its one of the things I loved about Red Dead Redemption - there was hardly any use of strong language. I hope Rockstar calm it down a few notches for V.

Tbh I thought it was used relatively to the right amount. It wasn't used as frequently as the show The Wire, it was used liberally enough to be an accurate representation of the people it was portraying. Lower class brought up gangstas are pretty much swearing only for the use of jnsults but just to add emphasis to things. It was used like a pre modifer, sometimes for humour, sometimes for emotion and sometimes for dramatic effect.

It makes the world come alive to me, in some odd way. I know it's just a game trying to mimic real life, the more accurate it is the more entertaining it is to me. Over use of the terms is just unneeded, it dilutes the point of it all. That's why superb voice acting in GTA games has made swearing levels acceptable to me, because they seem real and true to the characters they are portraying and not trying to sound like something fake and 'cool' for the sake of it.

But that's just my opinion. I liked RDR too because it was representative of the time swearing like that probably wouldn't have existed even so it's nice to have something that's representative.

I can't agree with you there. The amount of swearing was beyond excessive and necessary. They didn't swear just to portray emotion and whatnot, they did it cause they could. You don't have to swear 3-4 times, sometimes more, in a single sentence to show that you're angry. GTA III and Vice City had swearing in it but there wasn't so much that it stood out or distracted you. Heck, San Andreas's swearing was pretty bad but IV's vulgarity was on a completely different level.

There is a small degree of realism to the game but it is meant to be completely over the top. The level of swearing is over the top as well. I have never heard folk swear like they do in GTA, and I work in the center of Glasgow on a Saturday night. Folk are vulgar but never to that degree. As the series has progress the amount of swearing has increased. Other things have gotten worse as well, but at least I have the option to skip those. The swearing isn't something you can skip unless you mute the game. They don't have to drop the f-bomb left, right and center to make a character or set the mood in a scene. There will always be swearing in GTA, I've been playing the series since the first game so I know what to expect, but GTA IV really let me down on that. That and it wasn't a great GTA game.

RDR did have its share of swearing, but it wasn't a focus point in the dialogue. That felt more accurate to me. ACIII has strong language in it but it's only used to show strong emotions. They were both careful how they used swearing and I thought it worked out better. GTA IV didn't. Profanity was tossed all over the place for the sake of it. I know GTA V is gonna have a lot of swearing in it but I hope its no where near the level of IV.

Oh that is how you do a trailer! Set up the characters, the location, the vibe, everything. I even recognise some locations. And I get the feeling this is going to be a step back from the seriousness of GTA4 and be more crazy. More like BoGT, fo sure. The characters look very much intertwined in the story, not like GTA4. This is going to be goooooooooooooood.

Love the bit at the end, when they all do the 'Speak no Evil, Hear no Evil, See no Evil' thing. Very pertinent and funny.

    Love the second trailer!
    The three characters look interesting.
    The environment looks great.
Vehicles and weapons and missions look fun!
I have to say, Rockstar has never really disappointed me, and they continue to not disappoint me!
For anyone who says that GTA IV was boring, Rockstar just wanted to try something new, they wanted a more realistic type of game and a more darker story but at the same time keep all of the comedy of the GTA world in it. If you don't believe me that GTA IV was fun, play TBOGT or play the PC version and install some mods, trust me, its great

Another cover with the protagonists on it, seems to becoming the norm since IV. Top right image reminds me of the chase scene with Big Smoke in San Andreas, through the waterways. A homage maybe?
Looks like phones will be more prevalent then before.

And I'm wondering how big of a roll the dog has, ha!

I've played just about every other GTA game there is. It's sad when you don't need to look at the cheats anymore . . .

I've seen this in the past and it definitely looks interesting. I'll probably rent it to see if it's worth the cost and go from there. I don't think it's going to make GOTY, but it should still be interesting. Thanks for the info libre ^^

I really could care less about this new game. GTA to me fell off after San Andres for the PS2. I've played very single one of them and boy after San Andres that thug gangster feel they had about the game vanished. I'm not just talking about San Andres either with the thug gangster type of feel either.

The only thing I like about 4 is being able to cover by a wall instead of hiding behind it and moving out to shoot. That cover fire that a lot of FPS games don't even have(Besides the Tom Clancy series.)

GTAIV to me was trash complete waste of time such a bad game. Why would you take out car customization seriously!?!? And if you think changing the color of your car is tricking it out wow just quit.
