Heavy, Non-Existent Heart

Saix tried to stop crying. he failed... and continued crying.

 

Sonata had to make him stop so she took the shell flute from her drawers and started to play a peceful song. After a minute, she stopped and looked at him with a smile. "She taught me how to do this."

Saix smiled a little. he wanted to see Raiu again... to say goodbye one last time. "would you come with me to the gravesite?"

 

Sonata turned to him and smiled. She put the shell flute in the small pack on her waist. "Yeah... I'll be sure to bring this with me." Putting her shoes on. Sonata got ready to go. "Okay, let's go."

Saix walked out the door. he stared at the mountain. "Raiu..."

Sonata looked at the mountain. "She chose what she had to do, never forget that." Her best friend made her own choices when he came back and she knew that if Raiu were here now, she would say the same thing.

 

Saix nodded and started walking up the path. he remembered that Raiu was with him when he last did this. he smiled a little at the memory.

 

Sonata walked up the path to the gravesite. She remembered how Raiu taught her the song she let her keep the shell flute you needed to have to play the song. "Look." Sonata caught something at the corner of her eye... it was a red butterfly.

 

Saix turned his head and smiled at the butterfly. he kept his eye on it as he continued walking.

 

Sonata watched the red butterfly and it seemed like... it was calling them to the gravesite. The red butterfly was Raiu's spirit, like it always was since she died. She followed the spiritual butterfly all the way to the site and the butterfly landed on Raiu's grave, but then it glowed with a bright light...

 

Saix shielded his eyes from the light. it was really bright. he walked closer to the grave and the butterfly.

 

Sonata watched as the light grew bigger and it seemed to be taking the form of someone. The spirit touched the ground and Sonata's face was in shock... it was her best friend.

Raiu's spirit smiled at the both of them as she looked.

 

"Raiu....." Saix muttered as he took a few steps towards her. "how are you...... doing that?"

 

Her spirit turned to look at Saix, with a smile in her face. I told you I would be on the stars, didn't I? My spirit will never die. I respond to your feelings. You have been troubled lately haven't you? Her spirit knew he couldn't hide it.

 

Saix sighed sadly. "i still miss you.... and i feel really horrible because i kissed your friend..."

 

Raiu's spirit still kept a smile on her face as it walked up to him and touched his face. I told you it was okay for you to love Sonata. It's just all up to her how she feels. I miss being with you too, but I'm always right here. Her spirit turned to Sonata, still with a smile on her face. It's up to you how feel.

 

Saix smiled and wrapped his arms around Raiu. tears were streaming down his face. he kissed her neck.

 

Her spirit released itself from his grip and wiped his tears away. There's no need to be sad for me anymore. As long as you go on living, a large part of me will continue to live on. Her spirit turned to Sonata once again and walked to her. He will need you in the future. He will keep you happy and safe... just like he did with me.

 

Saix looked at Raiu and Sonata. he was overcome by a mixture of emotions... emotions he thought he never had.

 

Her spirit embraced Sonata with a cold breeze. It then turned to Saix and walked back to him. I trust you to take care of her... can you do that? I know she needs you, now more than ever.
