Heavy, Non-Existent Heart

"i'm glad she's happy... but... that doesn't change the fact that i still miss her..." Saix tried to stop crying.

 

"I know you do... so do I. But it's best to leave her happy then to suffer for the rest of her life." She didn't want him to be sad becase somehow... it made her sad too. If he didn't stop, then would surely start crying herself. Sonata buried her face into him knowing that her tears were coming.

 

Saix couldn't stop. the tears kept coming. he hugged Sonata tighter, not wanting to let go.

 

Now knowing that he couldn't stop, she revealed her face, showing him her sad face and her tears had already appeared. Sonata slumped to the ground and hung her head down. He really was making her sad and she wanted him to dry her tears, just as he did for Raiu a couple of years earlier.

 

Saix blinked. he wiped his tears away. he knelt down and tilted Sonata's chin up. he wiped away her tears.

 

Sonata looked at him when he held her face. She calmed down when he wiped her tears away. "Sorry..." Sonata had no idea what had come over her to bear tears like that.

 

"it's.... okay....." Saix put a hand on the side of Sonata's cheek and kissed her.

 

Sonata was still in surprise as he kissed her. It didn't make sense why he would, considering that he still loved Raiu. He said it himself. "I... really don't know what came over me."

 

he broke away and hugged her. he stopped crying and kissed her neck.

 

Sonata just stayed silent as he did what he did. She had no problem with it, but she still didn't understand. He still loved Raiu with all his being, so why was he showing the same thing to her? Sonata wanted to pull away but she couldn't.

 

Saix gently stroked Sonata's hair. he couldn't say 'i love you' yet.... it was too soon...

 

"It will be okay... we could help each other, right?" She scooted a little further away. Sonata didn't understand why he did what he just did. But she didn't care anyway.

 

Saix was silent for a second. "sorry i kissed you. if you didn't like it, just say so...."

 

Sonata was a little disappointed in herself. She could have said so but she didn't. What was wrong with her? "Sorry... it's fine. I don't know why I didn't." Could it have been that... she loved him?

 

Saix sighed to himself. he stared at the sky above.

 

Sonata was silent. It was fine... but she couldn't figure out a way to explain it. She wanted to say how sorry she was. "I'm really sorry... I don't mean to..." Luckily Sonata stopped herself from saying anything more.

 

Saix blinked. "no.... it's okay..." he sighed sadly. what's wrong with me... he thought

 

Sonata stood up and looked back at Raiu's grave. "We should go and let her rest for now." She walked over and stroked the stone. I hope you did the right thing for yourself and for us now.

 

Saix stood up and brushed himself off. "okay... let's go..."

 

Sonata walked towards the downward path and made her way down the mountain. Did she actually love him that much? It couldn't be possible... never.
