"My life was already a shipwreck anyways....and as for them they'd be better off with someone else."

 

"That's not true, normally anyway. Not so sure if you keep up the drinking. You just need to get your act together and move on."

 

"Move on?"he laughed "have you ever tried that?"

"You moved on from Elle...."Lyra said


"I didnt have two kids with her did I? its hard to move on when your son has her eyes or you know that your daughter will look exactly like her....how can I keep loving them without loving her? its impossible."

 

"They're different people Jordan, that's like saying I have to love Cory's biological father just because I love him. You can love one without the other, and in all honesty that woman, for lack of a better word, was a b*tch in the very worst sense of the word. And I'm sure you have to realise that now." Casey said, the tone of his voice indicating that he was only moments away from snapping at his brother in law.

 

"I know they're different people ....but im not going to get over her in a few days or months."

 

"You could at least gain some normality though." Casey sighed, flicking his hair out of his face so he could see more clearly. "You can't keep ditching the kids on different relatives all the time. It doesn't do them any good at all."

 

"well I can hardly take them with me..."

"Enough. Your stopping this now Jordan....do you want to upset people? yur upsetting mum and dad...and dad doesnt need this."

 

"You're better then this Jordan. You're a great Dad, just not when you're bar hopping every night, drinking yourself into oblivion and doing god knows what else."

 

He looked up at the ceiling "I just need to forget for awhile...ok?"

"Forget what? Lisa...? your name? your children?"

 

"If you're really this upset you should talk to someone, not block everyone out. Or you're just going to end up feeling worse and worse."

 

he sighed "If I work on it will you two leave me alone about it?"


"Jordan...."Lyra said "we're trying to help you."

 

"Maybe you should talk to Elle, she's been through something at least vaguely similar. And you two get along really well."

 

"Fine."he said

"we mean it Jordan."she said sternly,then she softened a little "We're only doing this because we care..."

 

"We don't want you throwing your life away."

 

"well dont worry...I wont."
