Pretty much I have a few tips.

1. Think. You get respect if you think about what you post. Don't just say "Yeah, that's true". I try to never do this. I always try to either disagree, or add something to the conversation.

2. Post composition. Install a spell check, and work on grammar. You may be fine, but I cannot help disliking posts with bad spelling, no periods or commas. Text talk is generally frowned upon. Lol is fine, along with the rest of them. But missing out vowels is annoying. Use smilies if you like them, but don't go overboard with them. One per paragraph is fine.

3. Be nice! I have seen this so many times. A newb makes a mistake, and people flame. The said newb then flames back, and gets banned. No one likes this.

4. Get social! Join a family, get friendly. (I don't recommend making your first post in the spam zone, but that's just me) Friends are good. Everyone here wants friends. Because of the shallowness of text, we generally have more mono personalities, meaning that there are a lot more people you can be friends with!
