Hogwarts: New Moon

"Let me see...Michael come out the way...go put something warm on...and bring something for Lake."she knelt down next to Lake

 

"Look!" Immy exclaimed, pointing at the red stain on the pale pink pashmina.

 

"Immy calm down"Lyra said"Lake....how did you do this? Cory...go get one of your dad's books...and some bandages"

 

After a few long moments Lake managed to stammer out something that sounded like 'rocks' and 'undercurrent', although it was so weak through the haze of pain.

 

Cory came back with a book and a box,

"This Might sting a little Lake but it will close it up...you'll feel as if you have bad cramp though ok honey?"she said trailing her wand over the wound

 

Lake seemed to nod, but the nod soon became a wince. The world's most tiny and pathetic squeak of pain came from her lips.

 

"I'll get Casey to take a look later on...let me know if the pains unbearable ok?"She said as she finished

 

She bit her lip and nodded slightly.
"Th-Thank y-you..." Lake forced out, her voice high yet hoarse.

 

"No problem sweetie."

Mickey came in then,with a bundle of grey fabric"These are what you worse last night and this is the warmest t-**** I've got...theres a pair of shorts there if you want to put them under the trousers for warmth."he said sniffing slightly


"Mickey...dry your hair....or you'll catch a cold...you know what your like...just like Cory...werewolf or not if theres some kind of bug going around you catch it...you dry your hair too Lake."

 

Lake cautiously sat up.

 

Mickey handed her the bundle then turned to go get towels for the closet,handing one to her,he sat down on the floor,so she could strecht out on the sofa

 

Lake cautiously stood up, her legs were shaking beneath her but not so much that she was about to fall over any second. Carefully she made her way upstairs to change, no way she was going to change in front of anyone. Injured or not.

 

"So....are we getting the full story of what happened?"Lyra asked,as her youngest son pulled the hood up and over his eyes.


"No."he said crossing his arms over his chest"Not right now...."

 

"I wanted some time on my own..." Lake muttered as she came back in. "Mickey found me and didn't take me running off as a 'leave me alone, I don't want to come back yet' sign." She explained further as she sat down on the sofa again.

 

"Never been good at the whole 'I wanna be left alone'"thing though"he grinned

 

"Whatever..." Lake muttered, pulling her hands into the hoodie and folding her arms over her chest. This motion was swiftly followed by a bitten back whimper and a wince.

 

He glanced up at her,"Did I annoy you when I came after you today?"He grinned

 

"I was fine on my own, I didn't need you to come. In fact it was only after you appeared that I got hurt!" Lake snarled, her bad mood coming much further forward then before. In fact, it was scarily out of character for her.

 

He looked taken aback,his mouth opening slightly,then he closed it,and his eyes narrowed" Well sorr-y for trying to get you back home so Mum would stop worrying and Im so sorry from getting you out the river!"he snapped back

 

"If you hadn't chased after me I wouldn't of gone near that river in the first place! And I was going to come back here in a couple of hours anyway! I was just enjoying a bit of peace and quiet after last night! Or have you forgotten that already?" She shouted back at him, her eyes filling with tears and her voice trembling. "Funnily enough I just wanted to forget everything for a few hours an-" Lake carried on until she burst into a fit of coughs and sobs, the strain on her lungs from the shouting was far too much.
