"They're nothing fancy," she answered. "The look like big, black, floating cloaks. And they eat people. They live in the tropics, though. I don't want to fill your head with ghost stories before you even get there."

 

"Yeah" Zeke looked at Pika-Power. "Just don't go to Askaban" he said, looking at Hogwarts glowing closer.

 

"Azkaban is terrible, my parents almost went there once." Eiko said.

 

"Really Eiko? What they do?" Jordan asked

 

"I was really young at the time, but my parents had to go somewhere and lost their way, so I'm told. Anyway, they started to feel weak, realizing where they were, they ran and reached the nearest hotel, which was pretty far."

 

Pika_power considered what Eiko said, then spoke up. "But surely these Dementors wouldn't suck out your parent's happiness, would they? After all, your parents did nothing wrong."

 

"they don't care. They suck out the souls of anyone who has experienced a lot of trauma in their life" said Zeke

 

"Or anyone who gets in their way," Aoife added.

 

"yeah, that's true" said Zeke seriously. Hogwarts was growing even closer, and he couldn't wait to get back

 

Pika_power nodded, then tentatively raised a hand, just like if he were in school. "So if these things are only guarding this prison, then why are we being taught a counterspell? Surely the Wizard world would not want people able to beat the guards? And if the guards stay only in Azkaban, like you say, I see no reason to need it." Pika_power nodded, then rested his head on his pillow. He did enjoy the soft feel of beckoning sleep, and the promise of restorative oblivion.

 

"it's just in case" Zeke said

 

Pika_power shivered, despite the warmth of the sleeping bag. "How often has it been needed 'just in case?' " the pokemon timidly questioned.

 

"Not alot." Jordan said looking at the Castle.

 

"And the spell isn't just for protection," Aoife added. "The animal forms can be very useful."

 

Pika_power nodded understandingly. "Do you battle with your patroni? That could be entertaining."

 

Aoife thought for a moment. "I guess you could. I'm not sure."

 

Pika_power grinned again. "Where can I sign up for lessons?"

The train hit a bump and Gwen realized that she had fallen asleep. She was in the seat with her legs up against her chest and her arms wrapped around them. Her forehead was pressed against the cool window. Without moving, she listened to the conversation going on.
