she shook her head

 

"Okay..." Ada nodded, getting up and looking out the window.

 

she looked at the fire

 

"It's snowing.."

 

"really?"she said

he grinned"guys are lucky....she never really comes in our toilets."

 

"Nah, she just lurks in your bathrooms." Lake grinned.

"Looks like it is..." Nate said as he descended the stairs to the common room from the boys dorms.

 

"must be annoying...her always there."

she went to the window

 

"We avoid that toilet best we can anyway, mix of her howling and wailing at you and how everyone says that's where the Chamber of Secrets is. The one with all the snakes and stuff in there. But with the amount of spiders in then even if there was a snake there once it's long gone now."

He jumped down the last couple of steps on the stairs and wandered casually to the nearest sofa and threw himself down on it, gazing out of the top part of the window above the girls heads. "Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. Since there's no place to go; Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" He sung in a laughing manner. He could sense the ill-ease in the room and, as per-usual, he was trying to break it.

 

he stiffend slightly at the mention of the chamber"yeah....its down there....but that things long dead."

she raised a eyebrow at him

 

"Exactly, I mean if it wasn't wouldn't people still be being attacked and stupid things like that?" Lake continued. "People can be so un-logical it's painful. Mind you, I don't suppose everyone even knows about the snake=spider thing, or even the fact it was a snake."

"What? I like snow, snow is good. Snow snow snowy snow. All white and fluffy, who wouldn't love it?" Nate grinned as he folded his arms behind his head.

 

"me."she said

he nodded

 

"Blasphemy!" Nate exclaimed, sitting up bolt upright and pointing at his cousin with a daft grin on his face.

"Yeah..." Lake nodded, with a feeling that she'd put her foot in it and mentioned something she really shouldn't of.

 

"your an idiot nate...."she said a smile tugging the corners of her mouth


"lets get going..."he said

 

"But I'm a loveable idiot." Nate said as he turned his daft grin into a cutely sweet smile.

"Yeah, lets." She nodded.

 

she smiled

he started up the stairs

 

"You can't deny it." He laughed as he crawled up onto the back of the sofa. "So, how long do you reckon before the hideous horde of hormonal stalkers reappears?"

Lake followed after him, being careful not to trip over her cloak again and make a total fool of herself ascending the main staircase right in plain view of the handful of students and teachers that were always wandering around there somewhere.

 

"an hour?"

he jumped the vanishing step

 

"Not too long then." He sighed.

Lake jumped over it too, nearly slipping on the step above it however. She gasped loudly as she felt herself fall backwards, but she balanced herself just in time.

 

"I'd hide."


"your not very co-ordaniated are you?"he said turning

 

"That's what I'm planning on doing." Nate nodded. "What I need is an invisablity cloak or to learn how to do that cloaking spell."

"I'm not normally this clumsy, just today I seem to be a little... well jinxed."
