    This made me laugh xD

The reason we look so deeply into these things is because they are interesting, maybe we want to find plot holes that Nomura missed since he's such a good game maker and we want to find faults. Maybe we just have innocent questions that fascinate us, or maybe we really are just thinking too deeply into it.

This is interesting also, like this could be symbolic of the division in characters over the years, just like the water, or maybe it was just to make a variety of Radiant gardens to explore throughout the games to make it more interesting.

I agree, it is fun to speculate on such things. Especially when your on a hot trail of some new find!

Hmm... that's true... Radiant Garden does kinda symbolize the "essence" of KH. In BBS, things are pretty much held together. In KH, things are starting to be revealed, but things are a mystery. (Hence the symbolism of the reverse flowing waterfalls at the beginning.) and in KHII, it shows the resolve of the immediate situation.

I just don't see what's so interesting about it at this point. We've pretty much come to the consensus that there was plenty of water there to flood a large area of HB/RG. And considering that the world became a Heartless hoptspot, it's pretty easy to conclude that it got flooded because the Heartless messed things up. There are some things that just don't have loads of meaning. And quite honestly, this is one of them, I would say. None of this really constitutes plot holes, because all the pieces to the puzzle are already on the table.

Let me give you my opinion.
1: Where does all that water come from? The pipes of the town, have you not seen the fountains and water place in BBS?
2: Where does it go in KHII? Perhaps it was frozen? Making the lovely blueness all around?....Or all the pipes were fixed by the committee?
3: How is it there's a giant door and a huge fall in the first game and in the second there's a normal space in front and even a entrance where you would have fallen in the first game? ..................................................................

And those are my opinions. I think the others have it more down than I do.

I think there's actually a pretty logical way to look at the situation, even if it wasn't the intended logic that was meant for it.

    • Radiant Garden/Hallow Bastian, based on what's seen of its design, was/is a pretty big world.
    • It could be implied that the world had/has a rather large population.
    • Quite certainly, it has a massive castle, which requires loads of resources to maintain and operate.
    • These factors, assuming they're reasonable enough to be taken as truth, would mean that the world would have to have an enormous supply of water; it is implied, by the sidequest in DI in the first game that people in the KHVerse still need drinking water in order to survive.
    • And of course, given the fact that Heartless/Darkness in the KHVerse is pretty much bred for consumption and destruction, it's not so far fetched to reason that the attack of the Heartless could have caused a great flood, at least across the town itself.

    • The Restoration Committee probably has more than just a few people. Even if it's not mentioned or referenced in the games, odds are that people in HB/RG were pitching in to help.
    • It's probably little challenge for one like Merlin, especially with help, to fix something like a flood.

There was only so much of the castle that was needed in the first game. It might have even been that the entrance to the castle in the second game was another part of the castle that was inaccessible/nonexistent in the first game (since it wasn't really necessary).

That indeed does sound reasonable. It can be stated that over time, change happened, and thus changing the geography of the surrounding area. After all, it had been a year, and a year would be enough time to bring about such change. (Also the castle itself had undergone change as well: degradation.)
