Cass had stopped staring through the hole in his weapon, feeling a boredom that wasn't solely his and had been watching his sandwich. He was studying the bite marks he made when he realized his stomach was growling. Suddenly, the sandwich looked tastier than he knew it really was. "I can't take it," he mumbled, "I'm starving..." He started reaching for it when someone bumped into the table, causing him to jump which, in turn, caused his outreached hand to push the sandwich to the floor.

His mouth and eyes grew wide as his face twisted in torment. The sandwich seemed to fall in slow motion. He felt like someone was repeatedly kicking him in the stomach over an eternity until the sandwich finally hit the floor, the slices of bread coming apart from the meat, the mayonnaise sticking the bread to the floor. He was so shocked that he didn't hear the person apologize, but heard their footsteps as they ran off.

His hunger mixed with his own boredom mixed with boomerang's boredom finally mixed with what just happened gave him a strange sense of anger. In one quick stride, he pulled his weapon out of the table, feeling its excitement building quickly, and jumped up, bumping into someone. "Sorry," he mumbled, catching a glint of silver from the corner of his eye. He proceeded to run out the door, completely forgetting he could have just made another sandwich and bumping into a few others. "You owe me a sandwich!" He yelled as he threw his boomerang at the one person he saw running.

Klaire had only gotten a few steps out of the entrance when a huge boomerang whipped past her. She stopped, her breath catching in her throat and her eyes widening. In an instant, the boomerang whirled back towards her and to it's wielder and surprisingly, she managed to duck just in time. She closed her eyes tight, tripping and falling on the ground with a wince. She scrambled to her feet, furrowing her brows and looking at the stranger her attacked her. It was the boy she had bumped into. Was he that mad at her?

"I--Uh." She paused, blinking. She felt something warm trickle her cheek and frowned deeper, wiping some blood from it. "S-sorry again for e-earlier." She mumbled, her heart still racing. She took a deep breath, wrapping her arms around herself to stop the shaking. Why did everyone get so upset with her? No, a better question was, why did she always screw up? She looked down at the ground, her eyes burning with tears.

"I can try to get you another sandwich, if you want." She said, the volume of her voice low and uncertain.

Even though it came to a solid stop once it reached Cass' hand, his bladed boomerang seemed to vibrate in his grip. He was never sure if it was actually vibrating, or if that was just the feeling he got from it, but it happened every time it got excited. He could feel it wanting to go for another spin and made a mental note to go outside later. He reached the girl, who stopped (and dodged his attack, which he was happy about. He wasn't trying to hurt her), and his anger disappeared when he saw the blood on her cheek.

Ignoring what she said, he started apologizing, "Oh god, I'm so sorry! I swear I wasn't trying to actually hit you, just scare and stop you! My boomerang, uh, weapon, it likes to, well, you see.." He felt so bad that he had cut her. That is to say, his boomerang cut her. He wasn't trying to actually hit her when he threw it, but, as always, the spinning blades had their own agenda. While stumbling around his words, he noticed other Allies giving him a look, some he seemed ready to draw their weapons. What's up with them? He thought before realizing who he had attacked. "Oh crap! You're the other Diviner!" He yelled aloud, swinging his hand up to point at Klaire. No wonder the other Allies were giving him that look, he could have killed someone important. But she did make my drop my sandwich, he tried justifying his action to himself. "Umm..don't worry about the sandwich," he said, looking down, ashamed. Back in his belt, his boomerang gave a vibe of embarrassment, as if to ask why Cass was ashamed.
"I didn't mean to cut you, really....but my sandwichhh..." he apologized, somehow managing to whine in the same sentence.

Tikka moved her hair out of her face and stood up. She wasn't going to go back to sleep, so she might as well make use of herself. Streching her arms out over her head, she moved towards the door, wondering if anything was happening at this time. She opened her door slowly, briefly leaning on it before coming out into the corridor. She looked down either way, it all looked so similar here. Her hand moved up to her face as she realised she didn't actually know her way round yet. She looked both ways searching for any clues to what laid either way, without luck. With a small shake of her head she chose to go right and began to walk down the corridor, still searching for anything that would tell her where to go.

Being bumped into was a mistake Valin wanted to make the boy regret. He swiftly caught up to the two, his blade intent on cutting him into ribbons. He heard the boy's apology and knew exactly why he was upset in the first place. Valin was not about to just let this incident slide by without repercussions. His blade was drawn in an instant and was soon pointed at the boy's throat. Raising an eyebrow, Valin noticed that the boy was yet another Diviner...it made no difference to him though, he had no interest on keeping two alive when one made less trouble than the other.

"Get back to the dining hall." Valin hissed, narrowing his eyes at the boy. Several of the other allies looked as if they would draw their weapons at him at any moment. "Even if you are a Diviner, you're acting as a liability." His grip tightened on his blade, knowing it wanted nothing more than to kill him. "I'll cut you down without hesitation if you make anymore trouble." It took all his willpower to keep his hand steady since his own sword was ready to overtake him right then. Focus... He thought to himself.

Valin turned his head to glance over at Klaire who was behind him since he stepped between the two. "Why are you apologizing to him? If I were in you're shoes..." Then again...killing everybody that sets me off isn't wise. He paused and sighed, shaking his head slowly before returning his attention to the boy. "Get out of my sight."

Klaire glanced around at a few other members who were staring before she looked back at the two boys again, not quite sure what to say. Her heart pounded, bright eyes blinking with confusion. Hesitantly, she took a step forward towards Valin, lowering her head and biting her bottom lip. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and looking back up at Valin.

"It's okay, V-Valin..." She murmured. "Don't hurt him." She glanced briefly at his weapon and gently lowered his arm before stepping back from him again, not sure how much control he had over it. She wasn't sure what else to say and the frustration was getting to her. She turned her back from them both with a slight tremble before she walked away and further from the Inn's entrance. She wanted nothing more to get away from the conflict. Hopefully it was safe enough around here to wander a bit. She needed her weapon, not that she felt it would be much use to her anyways. She only wanted to become apart of Lythos, that was the only reason she was even bothering with this. She didn't want to fight.

She frowned, slowing in her steps as she made her way towards a small clearing. She was a tool. That was all, and that was the only worth to any alliance she would ever be. She wasn't positive how that made her feel, but she was certain it was better than not being any help at all.

Valin stepped backwards and turned towards Klaire, watching as she walked away. Once again he knew he had to follow her. She just won't stay put. He took in a deep breath and looked at his sheath, carefully putting his sword away with a now unsteady hand. His weapon was angry at him. He cursed under his breath as he took another step in Klaire's direction.

"As you were." He directed towards the other members of the alliance, although he had no real authority to give orders, there would be some that feared him enough to simply obey. Valin walked after Klaire partly curious as to why she would be heading away from the inn when things were so dangerous outside without a weapon. As he followed her trail it came to mind that she might actually be looking for a weapon of her own, after all, she could never be officially a part of Lythos if she had none. Valin picked up his pace, wanting to get to Klaire before anyone...or anything got to her.

Klaire stopped, staring out in front of her. There were trees all around her now and the sun had set. She was thankful that there was a bright, full moon out tonight, permitting her to see. Looking around, she saw several weapons dug deep into the ground. She tilted her head. She saw a mallet, a scythe, and gun in front of her and grimaced. She didn't want any of these. If she was going to be forced to hurt someone in the future for her life, she wanted it to be painless. She also didn't want to have to put much force into it. She shuddered again and walked past those weapons, hoping there would be more. Of course, it wasn't really up to her.

She frowned a little, stopping once more and turning around. Someone was following her. It wasn't because she was necessarily good at sensing the presence of others or anything like that, but she could hear his footsteps. She raised an eyebrow.

    "Who's there?" She asked.

Valin trailed not too far behind Klaire though he was out of eyesight due to the trees between the two. He lifted his head as he walked, staring up at the darkening sky, knowing it would be mere minutes before the remaining sunlight faded. It set...but the sky isn't pitch black... He always found the sky to be interesting, it never had to fight after all.

A voice caught his attention forcing him to look straight ahead. He recognized it as Klaire's. "It's only me." He answered the girl, stepping into her line of sight slowly. "Being out alone is dangerous." Valin added as he continued walking towards her.

Blinking slowly, she stared at him quietly for a minute before she turned away again and looked at the ground, crossing her arms. She wondered why he had bothered to follow her anyways, it's wasn't like they really knew each other or anything. It wasn't like he should care. But then again, like always, she was forgetting what she was to the alliance. The whole thing was so annoying. So what, she could sense where the jewel was. She didn't want any special treatment. She sighed out deeply and turned to walk deeper through the trees.

"You don't have to follow me, though. I'll be fine." She murmured, looking for more weapons. She looked up briefly at the sky, tilting her head as she walked. "Aren't you tired, anyways?"

After wandering through the maze of corridors for a bit, not really knowing where she was going, Tikka reached a big door, different from the rest. She smiled knowing that this door must lead somewhere different. She reached out and pulled down the door handle, which she thought was fairly cold and opened the door. A shiver instantly went down her spine as a cold draft hit her, she shivered but looked out of the door to see trees, the door led to outside. She sighed, that was not helpful. She turned, deciding to return to her room until more people were up, only to realise she didn't know the way back to her room. She was lost. Tikka frowned, wondering what to do now, her attention returned to the door to outside. Why not, she figured, it's better than boring corridors.

Valin slowed his pace when Klaire spoke to him and came to a stop a foot away. He looked down at the girl and shook his head at her question, figuring she did not want him stalkin-following her. "You have no means of protecting yourself." He simply said, narrowing his eyes at her. Truthfully, he would have probably never have followed Klaire if she had not been a Diviner but seeing as how she was...

"What are you doing out here anyways?" He questioned, having already moved in front of her as soon as he had first spoken. Valin kept a hand on his sword although it was simply out of force of habit rather than out of the thought of actually using it.

Stopping in her search, Klaire furrowed her brows and thought to herself. She could feel the his eyes on the back of her neck, her shoulders rising slightly to ease her discomfort. She took a deep breath. What explanations did she owe him? It wasn't like he had given her any explanation when he followed her. She turned to face him, clearly agitated that she was wasting so much time. Though, it wasn't his fault. And maybe she would have even thought it was sweet of him, had he been following her because he really cared. But why would she expect that?

"I want to become an official member of Lythos. Besides, in the morning we're leaving this Inn and I don't have much time...I'd like to become a member before anything more...dangerous happens." She murmured. She wasn't sure what difference her having a weapon would really make. Everyone would tell her to get back anyways, like they always did. She groaned. She really needed to stop being so negative. It was probably how late it was getting, and how hungry she still felt. She turned away from him and started walking again, half hoping he'd still follow and half hoping he'd leave her to her search.

"I'm not sure what kind of weapon will...chose me...I'm hoping it's nothing too violent." She mumbled quietly, not bothering to raise her voice. If he bothered to hear her, then good. If not, then she would ignore him. She didn't know how skilled he was in his fighting and didn't want to get him caught up in anything. Though, she knew she shouldn't be so selfish. The organization needed her, for now. "Are you planning on using that sword?"

Already this girl was becoming a bit of a pain. He almost laughed at the thought of her getting a weapon of her own much less using it for anything. He trailed behind her and reached out to grab her by the arm...but not too roughly.

"You're hoping for nothing too violent?" He mocked, pulling on her arm to bring her closer. "Do you know how easy it is for someone to die? It's better to be violent and alive than to be passive and dead." Valin kept a firm grip on Klaire's arm, not intent on letting his eyes off her. "Do you even know how to fight? ...And yes, I do plan on using it eventually." His hand twitched as if his sword disagreed about who was the master in their "relationship".

Klaire looked up at him, narrowing her eyes almost threateningly and pulling her arm roughly away from his grip. She bit her lip as it quivered, not even sure what to say in response and instead turning away from him so he wouldn't see her eyes tear up.

"Leave me alone." She said, walking quickly away from him. The center of her chest ached dully, her eyes cast to the ground. She wasn't even trying to look for a weapon anymore, she was just trying to get away from him. No, she was trying to get away from every arrogant ******* like him. She just wanted to be alone. But why was she complaining? She was alone. Before she had known it, she was out of the clearing and even deeper into the forest. She sighed and brought the back of her palm to her eyes, wiping her tears away and sitting down on a rock. She looked up at the moon and huffed.

How could she blame him? He was right. It was stupid of her, so stupid, to even think about fighting at all. To even consider being a member of Lythos. It was all utterly stupid of her to assume she'd ever be more than what she was. She felt more tears threatening to fall and shut her eyes tight, holding her knees to her chest.

    "Just leave me alone..."

Valin groaned, following after Klaire once more. He was beginning to feel like something was off. Is she really...upset? He took his hand away from his sword, feeling geniunely(sp?) concerned about her. Valin did not take long to catch up with Klaire once more, this time he had a different approach in mind.

"Klaire?" He spoke quietly, toning down the harshness of his voice with great, but not noticable, effort. He stepped closer, seeing how sad she looked-defenseless more like it. Valin bit his lower lip, knowing that simply pulling her back towards the others would only make matters worse. Compromise was sadly the only way through. "I'm not here to boss you around, okay? Just...er..." He paused, unsure what to say. "Do you want help...?"

Slowly looking up with childlike eyes, Klaire nodded her head and stared at him. She sniffed quietly and rubbed her eyes, looking around and wrapping her arms around herself like she normally did. She stood up, blushing greatly with embarrassment. She must of looked like such a baby. But she didn't really care. It was getting really late, and she wanted to sleep before they left. She quickly changed her expression from sad and vulnerable to flustered as she nodded again.

"Yes please. I just...um. Need to find a weapon before daybreak." She told him firmly, trying her hardest to sound even a little authoritative. She turned after, nodding once for self-affirmation and taking a step forward mumbling, "Thanks."

Valin raised an eyebrow, seeing Klaire's expression. He clasped his hands together behind his back and took a step in her direction, hunching forward slightly as he moved. So she was looking for a weapon... The thought of looking for a weapon without actually wanting to use it seemed odd to him. What would Klaire do once she found it?

"Alright then. Let's get moving." He looked over at Klaire as he walked beside her. In his mind Valin was already trying to imagine what Klaire would be stuck with and how the personality of her weapon would be. His eyes trailed down towards his sword, hoping she would not have to deal with something like that.

Smiling slightly, Klaire nodded and continued to walk. She kept her eyes low to the ground so that she could spot any weapons if there were any there with a slight sigh. Why was it so tedious for her? You'd think the Diviners would be granted some power of their own to help defend themselves. Not that she wanted to fight. She was plenty fine with aiding the others medically and guiding them as a compass. She looked over quickly at Valin.

"Well. Since you're helping me...I guess that...I should tell you why I even bother getting a weapon if I don't want to use it." She started, walking further and weaving her way through the tall evergreens. "I've tagged along with this organization for so long now. It's about time I become a member. And you know I can't do that without a weapon...I really have no desire for violence, and never have. Laugh if you want. But it's true. I hate this war, I wish it would just end." She added, biting her lip to stop herself from saying more. He might have deserved an explanation, but nothing more from her. She still couldn't trust him. She didn't dare try, not yet.

She stopped in another clearing, kneeling down and gazing around at the twigs and branches lying around on the forests' floor. She laughed to herself softly, Wouldn't it be nice if I could fight with a twig? She thought. Moving some dirt out of the way hastily. She felt something here. Something warm, almost pulsating. Before she knew it, she had started digging, leaning forward towards the ground curiously. She stopped, frowning deeply before glancing back at him. "Will you help me? I think there's something there. I can feel it..."

Valin sighed to himself, glancing at Klaire slowly as the two walked. He knew what it was like to feel excluded from something since he had been traveling alongside the alliance while his parents were still alive. He narrowed his eyes and stared straight ahead, barely paying attention to what Klaire was saying. She had the right idea about one thing. The war should end. I know you wouldn't like that, would you? In response to the thought, his left hand twitched and gripped the handle of his sword. Just you wait, you'll want something more than blood.

Without noticing, Klaire had gotten in front of him and had begun digging into the ground without warning. Valin nearly tripped over the girl and abruptly stopped, raising an eyebrow out of curiousity, finding it amusing to just watch Klaire dig into the ground. "What are you...?" He rolled his eyes and forced his hand away from his sword as he knelt down beside Klaire and reluctantly began assisting the girl in her little "treasure hunt". I think I can feel it too...
