    I had to use him to beat Xaldin, but I really needed him when I had to beat Demyx and Sephiroth since they were the hardest bosses to beat for me.

    I don't think Mickey ever helps you with those. Sephy is an optional boss and Demyx... I dunno, I guess he didn't want to harm someone who looks like a puppy...

    first time twice, now, not at all, but I was using a cheat to have 1 hp and mickey saved me from xaldin and if i didnt charge all the way, when mickey died, it would show me die again, then i would play as mickey again
