Yeah, I don't know many Canadian doors that can do that either. Even if you have a lock on the inside, if you lock it you won't be able to close the door because the metal hinge is sticking out and will hit the door frame if you tried to close it, lo.

i.e. You can only lock the door when it's closed.

Oh, that's interesting... I never knew that. That would probably be better, as then I would never have had to climb in the second-story window...

  5. I lcoked it then when I took it out the key snapped.

*s******* If you can break into your own house, a burglar can easily. :D Best always remember a key!

My dad had to do that once, it was funny. He came back from work and no one was in the house and he had no key(and the doors lock automatically when you close them) so he got a brick and smashed the window, unluckily, I wasn't there to see it happening :(

Once me and my sister got stuck out the house, and we waited for ages, we tried turning the key from the wrong side of the door, and afterwards we finally found out that there was a spare house key  so we were very annoyed.

It sucks to be locked out. I got locked out and had to walk six miles to pick up the spare key. I have a security door that locks easily.

Now that sounds like something I'd attempt to do.
Except I'd probably fall and die. My center of gravity's a bit off.
There was one time I forgot my key, and it was snowing. I was sitting out on the front steps of my house, and my mom comes home. She asks me why I'm sitting outside, and I say that I forgot my key.
Then she stares at me and says, "You know, Len (stepdad) was home the entire time."
    xD
