I just found out the truth about my chemical romance

I never knew, that the lead singer had a rough childhood. That explain's all to me. Now I trully understand there songs, and I came to the belief, that they were emo, but they are not anymore. Just had to post this becouse people like to listen to them

Gerard Way and his groupies were never and aren't emo. Emo is not a stereotype, it is a type of music. Their music was never in the emo genre.

I mean come on, Welcome to the Black Parade = Major rip off of Bohemian Rhapsody.

And I agree with Hissora.

The emo genre is too vague, and any band with some emotional lyrics are branded as emo, though bands in the same category have totally different styles.

Edit: I wouldn't say it was a total rip off, there are similarities, but alot of songs these days are inspired by some classic band. If I remember Sum 41's Chuck album was pretty much a rip off of lots of bands songs.

First album, yes it is a bit emo. But current stuff, nope, no way.

If people are calling MCR emo for having them say "I don't love you", then you should just call Sum 41 emo for their song "Over My Head (Better Off Dead)". D:
