Have you ever just had a slow day when you don't really have to do anything, so you spend your entire day online waiting for the next post? I seriously logged on about a hundred times today just to check my RP's, sometimes without even waiting for more than a few seconds. I would say to myself "All right, nobody's online right now, just log off and get on facebook or something." And then as soon as I was logged off (I hadn't even gone to a different site) I would think "Oh, wait, I forgot to check this RP." and log back on. And then when I am logged on, I just sit and stare at the RP section, refreshing the page and waiting for a change. In fact, I'm only here in the spam zone because there's nothing going on over in the RP section right now. Can anyone sympathize with this?
Yes, definitely. I tend to just dwell in the RP section, lurking and waiting for new posts. We're hip like that.
Yeah, I do that. I also sit and stare at rps I need to reply to but don't know what to put for ages, trying to figure out what I can do.
In my earlier days yeah. Now, not as much. Granted back then between my slow typing and the number of people in threads RPing itself looked more like 1. Read thread 2. Type up response 3. Refresh to see if there are new posts. 4. Read new posts. 5. Edit response to fit new posts. 6. Repeat 3-5 until there are no prior posts, you are sick of trying to post up to date, or the premise of the post you were making goes to hell because of one of the new posts.

So yesterday after I posted this thread I logged off for real and went to bed, hoping that I would be better in the morning. I've had no such luck. I've been sitting here off and on all morning, eating burritos and sipping ice tea, waiting for the next post. Yeah, I'm definitely addicted.
I always have something to post in. /slit If whatever you're in leaves you waiting like that, why not just join other RPs to fill in the time gaps or make your own?
Welcome to the club. I love to roleplay but the problem is all the RP's going on right now are far too along in their story for a new player to join.
Well, I have tried both before, but the problem is sometimes I'm so busy I only have time to check one or two RP's at a time, so I don't like to be in too many at once, and then I have tried to make my own RP's before and it never really works. To see what I mean, click on the link in my signature.

It may seem like we've had a lot done, but we're still in the beginning stages. Like, the first major event in each is just about to start.
