... Why would someone want to admit to being emo?

I've been acused of being emo, and it sucks. Sure, I can joke around about emos every now and then, but my sisters emo, and it's not anything that's really funny at all. I can make a little jab at her every now and then about it... But it's seriously an issue amoungst teens.

I'm not trying to be a stereotypical emo. I'm just emotional... more emotional than I'm suppose to be. Actually, I'm very bipolar and I tend to turn...

    eh... im getting too personal.

Eh... It happens, becoming all emotional all of a sudden. It happened to me last weeked. ^.^

I solved it by staying locked in my room for two days, reading the sixth Harry Potter book (I'm a total nerd), and ignoring my sisters.

its ok to turn emo. sometimes its just a thing people go through and sometimes others just do it bcoz they can, but if you want to, then do it. i have no problems with emos.

*but one thing i do love is running up to emos and giving them hugs. they just go stiff lol*

*sighs*I'm not too happy with you guys not knowing the REAL definition of emo...

And Mari, I'm glad you've found a stereotipe that works for you, even though, they are just labels. Labels are for soup cans... >>

No they do not, I've been to see bands at are considered emo, and seen people at them that dress emo, and they all went mad, they were jumping about singing along having a good time. Not standing there doing nothing.

Not many people are seriously like that, it is just a stereotype, barly any of them cut themselves, cry all day, do nothing, draw dark stuff. Heck I would be doubtful if someone did all of the things that are considered emo.

My sister can be considered emo, she dresses and looks like one, and listens to the music. But she does not stand there at concerts, she is a very livly person, who is always having a laugh, and so do all of her friend, who are also emo. At work, I see alot of emos go in the shop and none of them are depressed looking like they want to die.

I'm sorry but that statement in Bull****

That just sounds like a poser, emo are kids who take it to the extreme over stupid stuff, Goth take it to the extreme over every thing.

Or your taking the sterotype to a point you think all emo's do that.

You can be a part of cliche like emo, and not have to do all of those things, I mean seriously do you think millions of teenagers cut themselves and cry themselves to sleep and want to die all because they are emo.

Pretty much all sterotypes do not perfectly protray what that cliche is like.

Mari is considering herself emo, but it doesn't mean she is going to act like the sterotype.

Posers, I seriously doubt it, pretty much all emo's i've seen are not like the sterotype, maybe they have one or 2 aspects that make them emo, but not to a point you are stating.
