Listen emo is pretty much all the same thing, yes some take it to the extreme and cut, but there all depressed, THERES NO SUCH THING AS A HAPPY EMO, There's HAPPY POSERS who get into it because the media tells them this is what to do, But thats it.

Posers are those who try to act like the cliche, by acting like the sterotype.

These days you are sterotyped by your clothes, and what you listen to. The term emo is a slang for the type of music and fashion. Which are dark lyrics about unhappiness etc etc. But all because the music they listen to are like that doesn't mean the person is like that.

Emo is a term for MUSIC and FASHION, not PERSONALITY.

Heck even I can be classed as emo, but hey am I unhappy and want to cut myself. No.

Emo has evolved beyond that point, 2 years ago you would have been correct, but now its how you act. trends evolve got to stay on top of them if you want to follow them.

Only because people have classed them that way.

Are all rich people stuck up?

Do all British people eat tea and crumpets and all upper class?

    Are all american's fat?

No, all of these are not true.

People who are classed as emo, don't do it to be part of the crowd (only a few pathetic people do) they do it because it is what they are like, my sister didn't become emo to be part of the crowd. And now people are using the term emo as an insult and using it far to loosly, anyone who is at all emotional is called emo.

dude, have you ever met a true emo, im sorry i have to say it, Your sister is bieng a poser, Most people you meet are posers, you know why, Alot of guys/girls like the emo's. Then there are people who are outside that box look in and are like wow, most of these people are posers, i can understand someone who is poor bieng emo or goth, but if your from middle class+ ur just bieng a poser. And yes thats how it is, you may like to think your sister somehow breaks the rule, but there doing it for there own gain. EMO IS ABOVE THE MUSIC EVEN TRUE EMOS WILL TELL YOU THIS.

Actually I have. My cousin strangely enough, but she is the only one i know who is like that.

But the point i'm trying to make is.

If a person wears the clothes and listens to the music, but doesn't act like one doesn't make them a poser, they just might like the style and music, like my sister, she doesn't actually say she is emo, but everyone says she is. So is she a poser though people say she is one, though she never says she is, and doesn't try to act like one?

Yes there are some posers out there, who try to act emo because it is the latest fad. But not everyone who is not as you say a 'True Emo' but dresses like one isn't nessacarly a poser.

Do you guys want to know what emo is?

Emo is short for 'emotional'. To be honest, it's not a label at all. It's just a way of saying "I am easily affected," or "I'm sensative."

Emo = emotionally hardcore. Which means, that they express their emotion like normal human beings should. Only they do it in a different way; moreover.

Nothing more, nothing less. Just because you dress in all black doesn't make you emo. I dress in mostly light colors and I'm emotional. Is that SO stereotypical?

Think about the definition the next time you hear someone say they are emo. >_>

    *Bored* xD

Yes I know what it means, and I agree. People assume a person is emo by the way they look.
