But you can bet that the prices will be much higher to compensate. Good luck living there if you go.

Wow, that's more than I made at the daycare before I left for my new job (I made $10.96/hour there...yeah, they never bothered to round up)

Congrats, Janson! I'm thrilled for you!

The other reason I'm looking for jobs in SF is because I'm starting college there in the fall and living in the dorms, which is covered by financial aid. I mostly want to get a job to pay for food and save for anime conventions.

Worked as a Teaching Assistant, working with special needs kids in mainstream schools, planned and take one to one lessons, worked for specific department sorting out confidential information and schemes of work for 12 - 19 year olds, all in my first full time job.

All on minimum wage. Which in the UK is £4.98 for my age range.
Yeah, there are jobs you can get ripped off on. Our school is notorious for being one of the worst in the area.

Enjoy the minimum wage you lucky North Americans!

Fair enough. Stuff will still be more expensive than you're used to, though.

No no. That is my paycheck. I don't get an allowance because he ALLOWS me to live in the house for free, he ALLOWS me to eat in the house for free and he ALLOWED me to exist.

    My dad is great, huh?

Hun, I haven't gotten an allowance in my life, and my dad is a deadbeat. Feel lucky.

I used to get payed for doing housework, and it was called an allowance. Now I don't get payed and I am expected to pay in my share.

And that's fair. Your dad is a big, rich softie. Especially for paying you so much if you are terrible with work.

My gosh these wages make so glad to be Australian. I make $20.71 an hour working behind a bar. But then I suppose you have to take into account cost of living and all that jazz in other countries..... Cost of living is outrageous here.....

Just looking at London's cost of living.

The average price of cheese is £7.06!
Geez, £2.08 for a one way ticket on the local train. London is such a rip off on travel compared to a few years ago.

Blame the Euro and fiat (government-controlled) currency.

Didn't you have to bail people out over that?

I think Scottish cheese is slightly cheaper (But tastes oh so better waha). And the train is a lot cheaper than the bus. Buses are ridiculous nowadays.

We did, but German took most of the bill. But Britain is back in a Recession (To be honest, we never really left) and the Govt. continue to make massive cuts.

Taking a train into the city (about a 90 minute ride) runs me $30, though that's round-trip.
