It's All About Wanting Something

Demetrio finished his book and for some reason the text turned red and he heard a voice say to him in the same tongue he deciphered "revukk y sayon kyos repearluk mysokkos de layanna." he understood what it had said it said to him "if you wish to prove yourself worthy of my power then show me your potential." he then read the very first spell and to his amazement a skeleton coated in fire appeared, screamed, then vanished. Demetrio then felt as if he was beaten, he was exhausted. he went to go lay down but before that he hid that book in his cloak.

OOC: he has found the book of hell its mainly fire mixed with necromancy.

 

Emiliana finished her apple and tossed the core to the ground. Fertilizer, she thought, pushing the guilt out of her mind about adding to the filth of the city. She got up and jump from the top step to the ground. These travellers look to serious, she thought and started to grin. She looked up at the sky; overcast clouds. Perfect. Time for a solo show.

 

Stretching her arms above her head, Rena let out an exasperated sigh, content with the loaf of bread she had just eaten. Didn't take her very long to eat it, though. She put her hands behind her head and looked up at the sky as she walked, wondering if something interesting would happen. She kind of doubted it, though. Only thing "interesting" that happened were those tournaments. Sighing once more, Rena lowered her arms down to her sides and continued walking.

BIC: Emiliana walked to the street corner whilst rubbing the palms of her hands together. Creating fiction like this wasn't a neccessary step to summon her magic, but she found that it helped make her magic stronger, and made for a better show.

As she made her way to the intersection of the two roads, she ran into a man with a cane. He was wobbling a little, despite the cane he used to walk with. "I beg your pardon, sir," Emiliana said quietly and politely, and continued towards her destination. Weido...

She stopped walking at the intersection. She placed a burgandy coloured cloth on the ground about six feet in front of her. She hoped that the travellers would be generous today.

Emiliana stood up straight, unmoving as a statue. She watched the people passing by. They took no notice of her. Slowly, she raised one arm until she was pointing staright up at the cloudy sky. She stayed like that for a moment. She began to smile as a few of the people slowed down to give her a confused expression. But most people still payed her no mind. Wait for it... she thought to herself.

She closed her eyes as a bolt of lightning suddenly shot from her fingertip to the cloud above. Or maybe it was the other way around, it happened to fast to tell. But it didn't disappear like most lightning bolts did. Instead, it twisted and mutated, stretching different arms outward in different directions.

Demetrio awakened. the sound of the lightning scared him awake." that was no normal lightning that was a spell." he ran outside still carrying his book." Kyokos ryuuks" he summoned a bony phoenix "find that source of the lightning" the phoenix tried to fly but exploded. "huh how do i know these spells, huh?" the hell book glowed and seemed to say" mortal your power is adequate and now you may use my power to destroy all who interfere."

 

"Thank you, sir," Emiliana said as she heard a man put some coins onto the cloth near her feet. The lightning bolt vanished, and she slowly lowered and held her hand infront of her face. There was some visible bolts of static dancing across her fingertips.

She looked down at the coins, not answering the man's question yet. Involuntaruly, she let out a "whoa" under her breath. Ther were gold coins. She had received the occasional silver coin, but hardly ever any gold. She looked up at the man who had left the coins. It was the same one who she had bumped into earlier. "Um... sure," she replied eventually. She knelt down to fold up the cloth so that it resembled a bag, and tied it shut. She put it under her tunic and looked back at the mysterious man, waiting.

 

Ren continued to walk down the streets of Aimat with his hands in his pockets. Ren sighed as he brought out some money sooner or later I will run out of money Ren said and sighed once more and put away the money. He walked some more but suddenly a huge walked right towards him and bumped into Ren as if he wasn't even there. "hey you watch were your going punk. I should beat some sense into you" the man yelled. Ren looked up at the man. The man was really huge and muscular. On his back was a really huge axe. Ren sighed and closed his eyes "you should be the one to watch where you are going" Ren said lazily. The man got angry and put his hand the the hand of the axe on his back "you better show me some damn respect after all I am going to enter the games and win it all you snot nose cocky little brat" the man yelled. Ren opened his eyes "your the cocky one thinking you already won the games. You don't even look strong enough to enter" Ren said with a smile. The man's anger reached it limits and he swung down the axe straight at Ren. With a smile still on his face and hands in his pockets Ren simply sidestepped away. A huge crowd of people gathered around the two to watch the fight

 

The man had piqued her curiousity. Emiliana did enjoy experimenting with her magic, and whenever she encountered another of the Shau, they would put on great shows and earn more money. But that rarely happened these days. She liked the freedom that she had, but she never knew where her next meal was coming from, or where she would rest each night.

The offer was tempting, but the man who made such an offer was very odd. Just as she was about to answer, he went into a kind of trance for a moment. She didn't know what to do. When he finally came out of it, he seemed to her to be almost embarassed.

He was very strange, and she wondered where he came from and what his goal was. But she wanted to give him a chance, as he was giving her one. "What will I be doing?" she asked cautiously.

 

Emiliana could tell that she needed to make up her mind quickly. This odd man didn't seem to be the kind to have much patience.

"All right," she said finally. "I'll come with you." She slung her pack over her shoulder. "Except you haven't told me exactly where we're going yet," she added, trying to hide a smile.

 

The man got really upset and swung his axe at Ren again but with ease Ren dodged easily again. Getting even more mad the man swung his axe at Ren like a mad man. Ren continued to dodge and jumped up as the man swung his axe down. Ren landed on the man's axe and smiled as he jumped off the axe and jumped off the man's head. and landed on the ground. The crowd began to cheer for Ren but fell silent as the man yelled in anger. "damn you kid stop dodging and fight me" The man yelled. Ren sighed and put his hand on the handle of the huge sword on his back "alright have it your way" Ren said

 

Emiliana smiled back politely. She sensed something that seemed like excitement; something she hadn't felt so strongly since she first came to Aimat.

She turned her head, hearing a commotion coming from somewhere on the other side of the city. I don't know what that's about, she thought, but it doesn't sound very friendly.

"One last thing," she said, looking directly at him. "You haven't properly introduced yourself yet." She struggled to keep her smile from turning into a smirk.

 

Emiliana raised her eyebrows a bit in surprise, but she chuckled. "I don't think that's quite how it works, but fine. The name's Emiliana Haines. And now it's your turn, strange man."

 

OOC: 8D Imma call him Alaric in the naration... just to avoid confusion, I suppose. xD

BIC: "Not that I can remember," Emiliana replied. "I was born and raised in Welk. My family consists only of farmers and farmers' wives." She wasn't sure if she should be telling this new aquaintance of her background, but she continued. Anyways, it chased away the awkward silences. "I believe I developed this 'gift' during a storm one evening. I was struck by lightning, but to my surprise I wasn't injured. In fact, I felt stronger than I ever had before. I've been electrified ever since," she said, holding out one hand in front of her and small staticy flickers of electricity danced over her hand. "I can create bolts of lightning from thin air, anytime I want. But they look fancier when it's cloudy. Here, want to test it out?" She smirked and pointed at Alaric so that her fingertip was a couple of inches away from his arm.
