How do you have a GM in an MMO? Is it like a moderator or something?

 

i'm not sure if this is a serious question, but i will answer seriously anyway

there's two types of GMs in wow, one are game masters and the others are guild masters
game masters help out with problems that are happening in the game
and then there are guild masters and they are the people who own the guild that you're in. they really don't do anything important, but they can appoint officers and give people the right to take items from the bank and stuff like that. they regulate everything. this is the one that nate is talking about

I was serious, and thank you.

Up until now I've only used GM in the original sense of the term. That is, game master, a person who hosts and controls the campaign in a tabletop setting. Since WoW is a video game with set parameters and no room for a traditional GM, I was slightly confused as to what their role would be.

 

Never used as Guild Master also, then again I never played WoW so I wouldn't know.
