I love how everyone thinks rap is so easy. Most of the people that bash rap are hearing the mainstream ****. Rap is alot harder than it sounds, and the mainstream **** does leave something to be desired, but thats because it's all "I got money" "Do this dance". Seriously, the songs most of you don't hear are the best ones. Why do you think Ice T said the **** he said about souja boy? If you don't know what he said it's right here near the bottom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_T#Political_views
And another thing is the people who listen to rap and like it are usualy those who have shared in the same expirences as the rappers have. I could go on about this but this isn't a debate so whatever. It's your opinion. Oh and one more thing. Rock came from black people.

Okay, maybe my views of rap are purely mainstream, but I never said that was easy to create rap music. I think it'd be harder to create the kind of music I enjoy because they have to come up with a part for the guitar, a part for the bass, a part for the drums, a part for a keyboard, etc. The only thing that they have to be creative with in rap is the lyrics.
Actually, I agree with you here. I didn't grow up in a poor neighborhood, and I'll probably never know anything about the kinds of things that these people face. One of the reasons that I enjoy the music I listen to is because I can relate to it.
I never brought anything about race in here. I know that rock originated from blues, which came from black people, so don't consider me completely ignorant. I don't care who the music came from.

I have heard of only four of those bands, however Blink-182 broke up.

Now, A producer must create a beat that can be played continuously that wouldn't seem to get boring half way through. Rock adds in different styles, making it more entertaining (which I give props for). So it's easier for someone to get hooked onto the music because it's versatile with what sound you like to hear in the song. But rap beat's pretty hard. Making a beat in rap music that'd show a difference among other beats and in rap, most music hold the same style of beat. Rock music does not put in bass, but simply an electric bass or a bass guitar itself. Rap uses a monotonous base, with no pitch or harmony, but has to attract a certain groove to the rapping.

But I can say that rock music has it's share in work. It does a lot, but so does classical music. So it really depends on the genre your looking at. Though, I'm not bashing at your opinion what so ever. Just showing that there are equal sides in those genres in music.

Actualy with rap some make the beat themselves, and it's actualy not that easy but a rock beat probably is harder. I should know since I play guitar and piano and it's not easy. But one thing most people leave out when they consider rap's dificulty is the flow, the rhythem, the rhymes, the similies and the metaphors. Not all great poems rhyme like rap does. I've heard rappers take long words and rhyme them with a short phrase thats made of two or three short words that sound similar to the other word when said at the right speed and pronounced the right(or should I say wrong?) way. You don't see that in poems since most poems are bound by the english language and propper grammar.

One of the reasons I listen to rap and rock is because I've expirenced a bit of both life styles.

Sorry about the race comment, but I always end up bringing that up in arguments about Rap vs. Rock since I live in the south and I have to defend with comments like that. I didn't mean to say you were ignorat or anything, I actualy have alot ofrespect for you. No hard feelings, right? and yes I know that still doesnt justify me bringing race into the argument.

Broken up bands are still good. Technically, Bright Eyes isn't exactly together right now (Conor is off with Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band), but I still love them.

No, it's good. It's all opinions, and I know everyone can't agree with mine.
