KH II - Jiminy Journal Near Complete Guide (Spoilers)

I thought I'd post the complete guide I wrote up for the Jiminy Journal to help people out and for people to respond to. This way some questions could be answered early if a mod might sticky this, and people could see if this would save them some time. It's very long but it is also covering most of the Jiminy Journal. This all was done on Proud Mode and there are severe spoilers within. Also, these aren't the -only- way to do the tasks, but perhaps the easiest. I'm sure others have completed it and used their own easier methods too.

SEVERE WARNING: Spoilers are all around in this Guide so if you don't want to see Spoilers, I've tried to be general where I could and not give away game secrets but unfortunately some are going to happen and there's no way to avoid that without failing to do what this Guide is meant to do, which is help you get through the tedious task of completing this Journal. All tasks must be completed by Sora, despite the fact that you -can- clear some things out as Roxas. Nothing Roxas does counts.

LIMITS

One of the requirements for the Journal is to make sure you use every Limit you can. Sora does Limits with the guests characters on worlds that join his party such as Mulan and Beast, but also he does two each with Donald and Goofy! You aren't expected to get any set score with them, but you must do them with each character for credit. Also, make sure to use the Summons and max them up, and it doesn't hurt to max up Drive Forms either, as they are imperative later to defeating the Paradox Hades Cup; especially Final Form. Final Form is received randomly after the Roxas/Sora battle, by pretty much spamming Master Form for a while. Ensuring the Forms are maxed up will also help you gain Final Form, but you must use Master Form and once it says under Forms as option to use 'Final Form', you switch and use that. After, it stays in your Forms menu permanently. The best thing about Final is that you won't ever change to Anti-form unpredictably.

SYNTHESIS

You will want to make sure you check out and do the Synthesis requirements for the Journal. Also, if you want to do the Paradox Cups, it definitely does not hurt to get yourself to Level 99 and also make yourself some AP Boosts, Defense Boosts and Strength Boosts. You may also want the Defense Boosts and Strength Boosts to defeat Sephiroth easier. In the Synthesis, there is a section that says 'List' and if you go in there it will show you what items you need. This will become more clear and in detail after you defeat Xemnas alone with Sora before the very last battle where Sora and Riku confront him together. Everything on the Journal opens up more clearer once you clear this 2nd to final battle with Xemnas, so it's a great aid to go through and see what you've missed. A great help with Synthesis is to use Draw on everyone and equip them with the Lucky Lucky abilities. Also be ready to need a lot of munny. You can purchase all of the shards, stones and gems when you complete the section requirement of the Journal! This saves on time with having to kill a gazillion things later on but does cost a hefty amount. All of the characters have Lucky Lucky and a special weapon with it equipped to it. Unless you get Sora to Level 99 if you chose to go the 'magic' route, you will not have it. There are 7 total Lucky Lucky things you can equip on the 3 main characters of Sora, Donald and Goofy. This will give you sometimes even two items that the enemies will drop, though sometimes some creatures seem harder to get things from, such as the Berserkers or Sorcerers. They are stingy. Make sure you also check out your Creations and Recipes sections too. You must make 1 of each thing in a Recipe, and also make one of each thing in Creations to complete the Synthesis requirement for the Journal. Some items in there, if you click on them and then go to put a Serenity shard/stone/gem/crystal in instead of the bright or energy gem it will show above you are going to create a new thing. That's one way to tell you are moving up and finishing the tasks in there.

On Forms - Leveling up Forms is important to completing the Paradox Cups but not essential for beating Sephiroth since you can't use them in that fight. I'll touch on them a bit.
**Valor Form - Raising Valor consists of gaining 1 experience point for each successful HIT on a target. One of the best areas for this is Beast's Castle which has a lot of creatures. Also, you may want to choose Halloween Town in the earlier stages of the game, Hollow Bastion or Disney Castle when it is swarmed with Heartless. If you choose Hollow Bastion, make sure to attack the Heartless with books because they have elements you will need for Synthesis. Lastly, the World That Never Was has a lot of Heartless in the town. Don't bother attacking Nobodies to improve. It won't work. Just beat on Heartless.
**Wisdom Form - Wisdom Form gains experience from each successful Heartless kill you earn. The best place to level up Wisdom is somewhere with a lot of Shadows in it such as Disney Castle or World That Never Was in the town.
**Master Form - This is upgraded by collecting Drive Form orbs, which are gained by defeating certain Heartless foes. The best places I've found to get orbs is either Beast's Castle or at Halloween Town, outside of Santa's Workshop. Another area is Hollow Bastion but the other two seem faster to me and it is easier to get to a save point, leave the world and return to the spot with a fresh start.
**Final Form - The only way to improve this is by killing Nobodies. If you get it early on before World That Never Was somehow, you can try going to Twilight Town and the adjoining fake Twilight Town. However, the most Nobodies are clearly at the World That Never Was. The Nobodies there also have a lot of Synthesis required materials so collect them if you can!

One other note on Forms is the Drive Gauge itself. When leveling them up, try to go to a place where you can easily get back to a Save Point before time runs out where you would revert back. Leave the world and then return immediately after. Your Drive Gauge should be reset so you can use the form again. The only problem you will run into is if you change to Anti-Form (which you will because using Forms a lot causes it to happen often enough). If this happens, leaving the world will not refresh your drive gauge and you will have to raise up again by collecting orbs. This should not take too long though if you use one of the spots I've mentioned formerly.

On Summons - Leveling Summons is pretty easy but takes some time. You can take the Summon back to a Save Point, go to the World Map and return as you are able to with Drive Forms, and you will return with a full bar to summon again. Make sure to at least use the Summons once so you get credit in the Journal. You can use them anywhere. One of the best areas I used was the World That Never Was in the town, and I just raced back to the Save Point before you would enter Castle Oblivion. Summons improve in experience by merely summoning them. You don't have to get a set number of kills or anything. They gain 1 experience point per time gauge used. If you go and beat Sephiroth, it earns you an extra gauge of time so it helps shorten the time you have to spend. Leveling up Summons is not necessary to completing the Journal but it certainly makes things easier in the Paradox Cups and also earlier Cups even. Fortunately, all Summons level at the same time, so you do not have to use one and then another. If you use Genie for this, it goes by fastest. You will want these Leveled up for the Tournaments. Peter Pan and Stitch are invaluable to certain Cups.

Getting to Level 99 painlessly - There's a sort of cheater spot you can go to after doing other things and completing the Pridelands quests so you can level up easy, though in KH2:FM this is removed, it still works, just more slowly. It seriously does not take much time at all to rise up. Go to the top of Pride Rock, through the King's Den and up to the highest point. Make sure to remove any auto-healing your party members do to aid you regularly and also on yourself. You want to get yourself injured enough to the point you are in the red and the annoying siren is sounding off in the background, but not too bad, since you don't want to die. Remove potions and hi-potions and elixirs from party members and in 'customize' put them on Sora attacks, though this last one is not necessary. Make sure to put on Abilities that help you stay alive, such as Defender and put on Experience Boost. You can use the Gullwing to boost it more. Then get yourself in the red (with the annoying sirens and all) by letting the enemy hit you down to it. After, attack away and keep attacking. At some point you may need to cure yourself or use a potion, or just run back to the save point at Pride Rock there, so just repeat the same process. You will earn a lot of experience pretty quickly doing this. This is especially helpful if you chose to use Sora with the magic path, since some abilities that are useful come later in that mode.

MINI GAMES AND SIDE QUESTS

Twilight Town

In Twilight Town, as mentioned formerly, Roxas cannot do the Journal requirements. Even if you beat the necessary times or goals, it just will not happen. When you are Sora, you can go back and immediately start clearing some of the easier ones, but for some, you will need the Glide ability.

Bumble Buster
Jiminy Objective: Kill the bees in 10 seconds
This job is posted on the Tram Common wall with the others there. Easiest thing to do is use magnera or magnega. Then either cast a fire spell at them or just beat on the rest of them that aren't pulled in. Finishing moves work nicely on the bees too, such as explosion, so if you drop additional combo pluses, you can do that as well.

Junk Sweep
Jiminy Objective: Complete with less than 6 points.
The best way to do this is to do the very slow process of pushing the boxes over to farthest corner to the left. Do three against the farthest wall, then rows of two. Leave out one junk box and position it towards the center of two boxes that are nearest to it. Remove Combo Pluses and finishers such as Explosion. Add on Negative Combo and if you have Fenrir, use that. After, as said, pile the boxes in one corner. Best one I found is the one to the left adjoined with the wall in back when Sora first appears. This can take a few minutes to accomplish but there is no time limit. After, position the last box between two boxes at an angle that would enable you to hit the most boxes you can. Boxes destroyed will smash into others. I had achieved two points, and formerly 5 points (needing to do only two hits) from this method, but it should regardless get you less than 6.

Mail Delivery
Jiminy Objective: Complete in 14 seconds
You can do this as soon as you come back to being Sora, pretty much. It's very easy and probably you did it enough as Roxas to get the hang of it. Easiest way to do it is to go down the hill, get the people in order as you see them and the bird there. After leap on the ramp and jump straight and you will hit the dove, press the triangle when you get the reaction command. Then whip around and head to the remaining one or two people on the ground, not going up the hill again, but instead to the area where the grandstander ball would be. It may take a bit of practice but I had 8 seconds and less on it when I decided that was enough.

SB Street Wave
Jiminy Objective: Finish with 1000 points
Find the woman in the Grandstand area and talk to her to get to skateboard. This can be rough at first but I figured out a neat secret which kind of made me feel as though I were cheating. Easiest way to do this, though it also feels like skimping out on the game, is to go up the ramp you are first facing as the game starts. Only push the reaction command once. After, put yourself in a handstand, coast down till you get to the intersection (a bridge walkway intersects) and then hit the Jump button ONLY ONCE. Then do as many tricks as you can with the other two buttons until you hit the ground level below. When you hit the ground, turn back and make sure not to jump, as this counts as an act and you only have 3. Use the Reaction Command at the very same spot by the stairs that you started before and do the Handstand command again. Then jump at the cross intersection over that bridge and do more spins and board grabs until you hit the ground. If you need to, go and repeat the process one more time. This should win it for you easy.

Cargo Climb
Jiminy Objective: Complete within 15 seconds
Press the R1 button to lock on to the big pile of junk. Equip the Negative Combo if you have it and then start off with an Aerial attack on the the big bag. Try to keep the bag to the center most of the time. After, when you hit it into the air with a combo, it will start to come back at you. Leap up quickly and smack it up the hill. Then do aerial combo again or you can do a ground attack. Make sure your Finishers are on such as Explosion and Negative Combo is also equipped. Don't take off too many Combo pluses though or it won't work right and you'll just do finishers that won't amount to anything.

Grandstander
Jiminy Objective: Complete with 100 points
Each hit is worth 1 point. Equip one of the longer keyblades to do it and equip Combo Pluses you may have. Do not equip finishing moves unless you are sure you can get to the ball in time. I had no problem with it really but some might. Then just lock on the ball, hit it with combos, and sooner or later it will rise in the air high. Keep a lock on it and hop over to where it is going to land and strike it with another combo before it does so. One easy way of doing this is to take the ball more over to the entrance of the Sandlot and hit it up there repeatedly. It will slow the descent buy bouncing off the wall a bit and it sort of traps the ball in an area you can easily get to over and over again.

Poster Duty
Jiminy Objective: Complete in 30 seconds
This one was HARD! At least for me. I accomplished it in just under 28 seconds at my very best. You have to be near PERFECT and make no errors. Requirements are that you have the glide ability, preferably glide 2, equipped. This means you have to have obtained Final Form and leveled it prior to this. I would not bother trying to do this without Glide. It's impossible. The double jump and high jump are also pretty important and then the rest is going to the right places and having fast fingers. The Brady gamers apparently did not even beat this but gave suggestions which don't work. I'll try to explain the best I can here.
First, when you begin, turn Sora to the Right. Fly over to the building directly to the right and put a poster there. Do a hop around the building, going to Sora's left and put another three posters there (4 altogether so far). After, (trying to stay gliding if you can with the second jump and glide ability), fly behind you, going to the the top of the green building. It takes some getting used to but the reaction command will tip you off when you get close enough, so just hit it when you see it and it will drag you over. Trying to stay gliding with a hop and pushing the O button quick enough, fly along the wall to the next green roofed building and push the button again. Then hop, fly over to the small blue one and put a poster up there. This totals 7 so far. After, fast hop and push the Reaction Command to post very quickly the next 3 in rapid succession on the blue roofed building beside the one you were just on.
Hop off here and glide quickly across the street to a building top that is somewhat to the left when Sora flies over. He can land on the building top here but it's not advisable for time. There is a poster spot on the wall to a higher building right there so post it and then glide across the street to the red topped building and post the next poster there. So far you are at 12 posters. After, hop, or easier to actually stay in glide with and jump around to the right side of the building, and post the poster up where the colorful canopy is. Try to not land during this but if you do, or don't, jump over to the right (from facing the direction of the poster spot) and use the reaction button as soon as you see the chance. After, facing that poster, do a 180 and hop in that direction to post another poster on that wall. Come immediately from there and turn 180 and step forward. Immediately there should be a reaction command which will when pushed hop you down to the next level and here there are two posters to get. After you get the first, just hop to Sora's left and the second one will appear. Immediately after posting do Glide across behind Sora and once the reaction button shows up push it and post the final remaining 3 posters. This is the only way after a ton of time my friend and I spent to win. Brady may have outlined this too but they certainly were very vague on directions. I hope this helps you out more.

Fighting Foes
Hayner (win by 100 or more points). Hayner, at least to me, seemed to only have 100 orbs to get, but I could be forgetting. He's easy as Sora and since you can only fight him later on really, he's very very easy. Just beat on him and then do guard or counterguard and retaliate to keep him off you. If he gets that bad, just hop away and glide or move around the stage till it's over.

The next two foes won't happen for some time, unfortunately so you'll have to come back quite late in the game to face them when they are unlocked.

Setzer (win by 150 or more points). Setzer is not really hard either. He does pretty much the same thing as he did before and if Roxas could beat him, you know Sora can. Biggest thing to watch out for is if you hit his sword, he does his own series of combos on you that are rather difficult, but not impossible to avoid with a good leap to the side. All I did was went in and beat on him with combos, had Draw equipped of course, and if you have the Draw Ring it helps too. Then just beat on him, jump away and if you collect all of the orbs, you win easy and automatically.

Seifer (win with 200 points). Seifer is not much harder than Setzer. Just lock onto him and do the ol' attack from behind ploy. He has a couple attacks that hit strongly, including a sort of 'death from above' maneuver, but if you see it, it's easy to move quickly to the side. Even if you get hit by it, do aerial recovery and go in and kick his butt. After gaining all his orbs by equipping Draw and the Draw Ring, simply fly around till time ends.

Radiant Gardens

SB Freestyle
Jiminy Objective: 200 or more points
To do this task you need to talk to Scrooge in the Market area. You can almost do the same thing you do with the former skateboard game but this time you have one shot at hopping off. You can do this task as often as you want however, and it won't take you out of the mini-game. Best area to go to is the top area before entering the Bailey. Use the side there to get going and when you find an ideal spot, use grind, then just spam the other two buttons. You can repeat this as many times as you need to get the mandatory 200 points. Don't hit buildings though, and try to jump in the middle of them.

Sephiroth
Jiminy Objective: Meet Sephiroth (engage him in battle once) and after if you don't defeat him, defeat him, and then go get Cloud at the Market Place, and go back to Sephiroth to tell him you delivered his message. You'll get a nice little movie clip to watch after and gain the Fenrir keychain as a reward from Tifa when you are done.
This battle is one of the hardest in the game. Perhaps the only thing more difficult is the Hades Paradox Cup, but this is debatable. For the battle you want to either use Oblivion or the Ultima Weapon if you successfully have made it and you want to be at least level 50, though I'd recommend leveling up well past that. I beat him the first time at level 53 and it took some considerable time. Also, you want to have the following abilities if you can: Glide, Second Chance, Combination Boost, Once More and Leaf Bracer. Guard Break is also very useful if you time it right, and having Reflect up assists with dark orbs he unleashes, if you don't want to spend time smashing them. It is best to fight Sephiroth after you have finished off the first fight with Xemnas, where Sora fights alone. You cannot use Forms or Summons to aid you in this battle. Magic except for Reflect (Reflega) is utterly useless against Sephiroth so I wouldn't bother. Also, equip the Trinity Limit. It becomes a great way to finish off Sephiroth at the end. Put in elixirs or hi-potions to your stock and use strength boosting and defense boosting Accessories and Armor.

The key to winning this really is to be super fast and time things right. There is a reaction command to use which will deflect off his very fast combo at you. He uses this at the beginning of battle but also after he does his large pillars of fire around himself, and when he does Heartless Angel to you. Make sure you are on the ground when this happens or else the reaction button does nothing. To begin the fight, I used the reaction command, and then followed up immediately with a ground combo attack, using the dash ability to get in there. You can also after, if you can beat him in timing, do a good aerial combo on him. He teleports often during a combo but you can get quite a bit of it done before he does so.
After this, Sephiroth tends to move with the sword held out in front of him facing to the side. When he does this stay back from him a bit and let him break into a combo. Hop in after it is completed and attack him again with another combo of your own. Keep doing that as long as you can get away with it. Sooner or later, (usually after about 5 bars down) he will start to get a lot more serious and cast dark orbs around. Hit these quickly if you can and watch out for him. A fast way to deal with them is to cast reflect on yourself. Then when they go to hit you, they are repelled away and you can combo against him when he hops in to get at you.
Sephiroth will then start doing one of two things between attacking you as he did formerly. He also teleports more often and gets even faster. He will try to Heartless Angel you or do his fire pillar around himself. If you move away from him, he will do Heartless Angel. Quickly try to glide over to him or hop up if you don't have glide, and strike him before he finishes. If you succeed, you can do a nice combo on him.
If he does the fire pillar, try to get away from him as quickly as you can because this depletes HP rapidly and he won't take damage when in it. After it fades, I just ran away slowly, remaining just outside of the flames (since they draw you towards them) and then went in for a combo on him immediately after.
If he succeeds with Heartless Angel, and you miss him, wait on the ground for the Reaction command because he will follow through with the same attack he does at the very beginning of the match. After, immediately curaga or use a hi-potion or elixir, and if you are fast enough, get him in a combo. If not, hop away to avoid his that will no doubt come after you.
If you do these steps you should be able after a while to get to the end. When he's down to 1 or two bars, he becomes even worse, lobbing meteors down at you. Try gliding or running out of the way as you can and if you can't avoid them, use Leaf Bracer and curaga yourself. Also, I should mention having MP Rage equipped if you have that so your MP is restored swiftly. When he's done or just before, if you can get him, do Trinity Limit on him. This should finish him off and if not, go in for a combo.
Winning Sephiroth greatly helps you out with forms and summons by granting you an extra time bar to the gauge. Also, winning Fenrir helps a lot in quite a few of the side-quests.

Olympus Coliseum

The Olympus Coliseum has quite a few tasks to do, which will require some time and effort. Also, defeating Sephiroth and gaining Fenrir helps quite a bit.

Phil's Training
Jiminy Objective: 1. try Practice Mode. 2. Try Maniac Mode. 3. Complete Maniac Mode with a score of 1000 or more.
Talk to Phil after the Coliseum gets trashed by the Hydra and the regular mission with Herc and Auron is over. This game just consists of smashing pots and collecting orbs. You will want to equip the Draw Ring and also Draw ability. You have 1:30 time to collect as many orbs as you possibly can. Equip Fenrir and remove Combo Pluses except one if you need to keep one. Put on the ability Negative Combo. If you can do this without Fenrir, good, but I never could get it to work. With Fenrir, I scored well above 1000 once I got the hang of the task.
When you go in, you have to move fast and go to groups of Urns rather than singular ones until you really must get there. If you see large pots that are more of a sunny golden color, go at them and smash them in a direction towards a great group of smaller pots. Then rush in and finish off what is left. Also, when going for the finisher moves at pots, make sure to pick some of the lower pots to go by. Some are higher floating and will cause you to jump up into a combo to hit them. This ruins timing. Make sure to when in doubt use the Lock-on feature, which will help you locate pots you may have missed. New ones often won't appear until you clear out the others.

All of the Underdrome battles can be fought by talking to Panic at the Entrance to the Underworld.

The Underdrome: Pain and Panic Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with 2000 or more points.
The Drive gauge in this match is locked so it will be unable to be used and all matches are timed. Limits however are helpful and in a way, rather critical. Goofy's Limits are more helpful than Donald's, here at any rate, and they are faster so you can customize his to auto-limit if you want for speed's sake. You can also use Trinity Limit if you want. Beat on the foes with strong attacks and use Goofy's Limits and this should be pretty easy. The more combos you do the better you get.
Make sure your MP gauge is full before you get to round 8. When you get here, you will be confronted with a large group of Rapid Thrusters and you must defeat as many of them as you can alone in 60 seconds. Spam them with a ton of Magnegas, one right after the other, and don't bother waiting for one spell to end. When your MP depletes, hop up and attack them. You can also just attack them without Magnega because it's not too hard to get the points you require here. You want to score really high here if you can here.
Squall and Yuffie: For these two, Yuffie is by far the most annoying. She vanishes and reappears and does distance attacks with her large shuriken. Beat on her first and use the lock-on ability when you need to. After, go for Leon. Guard works against him as does counterguard, and you should be able to beat them both pretty easy. Defeating this tournie wins you a Lucky Ring and Serenity Stone. The Lucky Ring is very helpful so you can complete the Synthesis stuff.

The Underdrome: Cerberus Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with a score of 1000 or more.
You definitely want magnega for this, or at least magnera, and you can use Forms. You fight alone but it's better that way. Final Form is awesome here if you have it, or Master works fine. Many of the enemies you can cast Magnega at, except for trick ghosts or Fat Bandits or Large Bodies.
Cerberus: Cerberus is difficult really because the match is a timed battle. He's relatively the same ol' Cerberus we've all fought since KH 1, so go and lock on the heads. Going after him with Master or Final Form will clear this battle quick. Also when fighting, there's a chance that you may get a reaction command when between two of the dog's heads. Use this and it will stun Cerberus and allow you to beat the tar out of him. Make sure to use glide or jump when he does a leap because he will send out a sonic wave at ground level.

The Underdrome: Titan Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with a score of 5000 or more
Sora begins the tournament with 500 damage gauge. If he falls to zero at any time in the Tournament, all the way to the end, he fails. You cannot use drive forms here at all but you are allowed to use Summons and well, to win this objective, you have to. The two most useful Summons for this are Stitch and Peter Pan. If you use Stitch, spam Ohana and hit the ukulele button repeatedly. If you use Peter Pan, use Neverland and rack up serious points by flying into and around the enemies quickly. For me, Peter Pan worked better and you can even use Neverland if you hop in the air first and then click it to gain more aerial height against those flying foes. I had at least 8000 after this by using Peter Pan. Equip Summon Boost and level the Summons up before doing this for maximum benefit. One of the best things about using either Stitch or Peter Pan when they are in Ohana or Neverland mode is that you take no damage. You can also, if you worked the Summons high enough, do these attacks about 3 times before you need to re-summon.
Hercules: You fight Hercules at the end of the rounds. He's not so tough really, and you can combo on him fairly easy. Whenever he glows yellow, or his arm does, he's getting ready to hit you so back off of him. He also does Bull Rush so you'll want to hop in the air to get away from him or just glide around. He will also occasionally leap in the air and smash his fists in the ground for Shock Wave but glide or leaping can avoid this too. Make sure to keep watch over the damage points you have. If you get to 0, whether at full health or not, you lose.

The Underdrome: Goddess of Fate Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with a score of 3000 or more.
To enter this cup, you must first beat Xemnas alone with Sora in the battle that takes place in the town. This fight also unlocks the Jiminy Journal. You also must have completed the former Cups mentioned above. The Goddess of Fate Cup is kind of a combination of the former Underdrome battles so make sure to read the directions and even pause if you need to.
This is a tricky group of battles. You can use Drive Forms, Limits and Magic for it. The more combos you succeed at the more likely you will enter double-score mode. Final Form is very helpful here. Also, if you go through once and obtain the Fatal Crest keyblade, it is pretty useful.
Round 8: If you used a Form before round 8, you will be reverted back to your regular self and Forms are not available. However, it restores your drive gauge. Here is where you want to make the most points out of the battle. If you can accumulate 1000 before entering, you should be set if you spam Magnega repeatedly. There are several Rapid Thrusters, so just use Magnega over and over again, nonstop and then leap up and attack the remaining ones. Hopefully, you can get the required 3000 points before you leave here and head into Round 9. Then you can revert into Final Form and mop that one up.
Hades: You can fight him with Donald and Goofy along. He has hammerheads that will ruin combos if you don't do aerial ones on Hades. Any time he says "Feel the Heat" he's about to lob a fireball at you so glide or hop out of the way. Attack him with combos and then back off when he goes to retaliate, and go in again. He teleports around so use Lock-on to keep track of him. Another trick is you can use Magnega to get him and strike him while he's trapped in that for a bit. The Cup itself is not difficult but getting the required points can be a pain in the rear.

Paradox Battles

These require some thought and are similar to the battles fought formerly, but they take more time and strategy to defeat. To enter the Paradox Cups, you must talk to Hades in his chamber and you must complete the cup of the same name (without 'paradox') to gain a way into it. You also must complete the former Paradox Cups to move on.

Paradox Cerberus Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with a score of 1300 or more
You can use Drive Forms and Final Form again is the best option. You have 5 minutes to complete the cup so you have to move fast. Using Magnega against the weaker Heartless can clear out a field on some levels, with no fight involved if you are in Final Form, but the spell will not work on Large Bodies, Fat Bandits or Trick Ghosts. I recommend beating Sephiroth so you have the extra drive bar and having your Final Form maxed for all following battles.
Cerberus: Fight Cerberus if you can in Final Form. Glide around and try to avoid shockwave, keeping in mind that this battle is timed. If you can get between the heads, the reaction command here works as it did in the regular Cerberus Cup and then you can deal out total destruction on him while he's stunned. You can, if you want, use Magnega on him as well, but I only tried it once and just beat the tar out of him instead.

Paradox Titan Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with 10,000 or more.
If you thought getting 5000 was a pain in the former Titan Cup, 10,000 is even more difficult, though not impossible. You once again can use Summons but cannot use Drives. I found Peter Pan more helpful than Stitch, but either one does the trick. Make sure the summons are maxed up so you get the best performance out of them. Then just every round call them. If you use Peter Pan, just keep doing 'Neverland' option and when it stops, go immediately back to it. When he goes away, you can re-summon him if you have leveled him up. You can also do a trick with Magnega in some rounds and it will pull the enemies together and also remember reaction commands for some of the foes here. You have 500 damage points again to begin with and you want to make sure you don't reach 0. Brady suggested using Genie, but seriously, you need the points so Stitch and Peter Pan are your best bets. If you get in a tight spot, Trinity Limit can help.
Hercules: This fight is nearly the same as the former Hercules battle. Just watch when he turns yellow, or his fist turns yellow and get away from him. If he leaps in the air, hop up off the ground to avoid Shockwave. Go in and get him when he is checking out his muscles, because he's obviously got the time when you were avoiding him and show him he should be paying more attention!

Paradox Hades Cup
Jiminy Objective: Win with 15000 or more
This is the mother of all tournaments. You must complete all of the others before coming here. Make sure you come with hi-potions and/or elixirs. Also, put your team members hi-potion usage on high, rather than low, as you will want to get the most use out of the two before they are not with you anymore. I also put them on "Sora Attacks" so I could get more points but I'm not sure that it is necessary. Ultima Weapon is very helpful and the weapon of choice here. Also, try summoning when you can and using Whirli-Goof and do Reaction Commands when available. I set Goofy to auto-limit to save time, which is about the only time I've bothered using auto-limit. Another thing is that when the option to use Summons is available in any of the levels, summon Peter Pan or Stitch. I used Peter Pan and by Level 30 I had nearly 13k points. It's about the only way I know of to get enough points to finish the Journal. You can do the Summons on 2 or 3 of the Levels for the battle so watch for it. Using Reaction Commands gives out more points as well and Combos are very important so don't use Fenrir as the dominant weapon or put on Negative Combo. Put all the Combo Pluses and Aerial combos on. Also, make sure to equip Finisher moves because without them you cannot get by certain boss battles unless you use a Limit.

Round 1-10
This is a lot like the Pain and Panic battles, and you can use limits. I used Goofy's because they seemed better at releasing more orbs and all. You don't get much here so combo as you can to gain double point mode. A neat trick you can do here is to use Magnega in some matches and while they are swirling around, if you get Goofy's 'Whirli-Goof' reaction, hit it and have fun beating on the foes as they are completely defenseless. Good fun.
Another thing to note here is that you can also use Summons, and you probably should try to use Peter Pan or Stitch early. I prefer Peter Pan and if you get used to flying him around with the Neverland option, you can get quite a few orbs. It's easier to get points early on than it is later in the Hades Cup here. Even using Peter Pan, i had gotten just under 17k. The requirement to defeat the Cup is 15k. I'd recommend for points early on to use Peter Pan through Levels 1-4.

Level 5: Volcanic Lord - This guy should not be too much trouble. He was seen at Agrabah along with the Blizzard Lord. You can use a Reaction Command on him called Firagun. It does not do much but does send him flying. Then just home in on him and do combos, watch for the spear he uses and go back in again. Gliding helps in this so you do not have to touch the ground. There are some Soldier Heartless wandering about but they are no threat and even the directions to the match tell you to just go for the Volcanic Lord. You can also use Whirli-Goof here against the foe.

Level 6,7,8,9: Use Peter Pan again for more points. Remember that if you have maxed your Summons and put in Summon Boost Ability you can sometimes get the Summons twice in a round, so if Peter or Stitch leave, just call them back. After, if they still remain somehow, pound on them with Whirli-Goof or Knock Smash.

Level 10: Tifa and Yuffie: Defeat Yuffie first so one, she stops talking and annoying you, and two, you can stop her distance attacks and teleporting. Tifa is a close range fighter so you should not have much trouble dealing with her in the end, but watch out for her Final Heaven attack, because it causes oodles of damage. You can use Final Form in this so go ahead. There are no points gained from any of the Boss Fights so don't worry about them here.

Round 11-20
This is a lot like the Titan Cup rules and you are given 500 points to use in order to pass this segment. Make sure to keep track of these damage points because once they hit 0, you lose. You can still do Limits but also have Summons. In this section of the Tournament you REALLY want to use Peter Pan or Stitch and rack up as many points as possible. Remember to re-summon the Summon if you want to make more points and resist the temptation of just beating things here because this is where the most points will come from. There are no Drive Forms in this.
Round 15: This has the Blizzard Lord in it. He's the compatriot to the Volcanic Lord you fought earlier. You can do a Reaction Command called Blizzagun on him, or use Limits to defeat him. A neat trick I found was to go in and combo him, drop to the ground immediately, and then he swings his staff. I then hopped up and combo'd him again 3 times and offed him that way and never took a wound.
Rounds 16-19: Use the Summons again all you can. Same thing as before. If things get hard, fly around and use Magic to cure yourself rather than wasting potions of any sort. The battles are not timed so you can do things you need to. This is a good strategy to use throughout the Tournament where the battles aren't timed.
Pete: The key to beating Pete is taking your time really. He lobs out bowling ball explosives, so you'll want to glide to avoid these and just move around. When he puts a shield on himself and says "Look kids! Pete's Invincible!" move in/glide and wait for it to drop. Immediately after, combo on him or do Trinity and then fly off again. Keep doing this and you will pretty much take no damage at all in the fight, if you stay airborne and away from the bowling ball explosives. Pete also does have a jump that sends sonic waves out and the balls will follow you around the arena. At certain points if you go after him he will suddenly toss out smaller orbs that will explode at you. Keep in mind that you have only the remaining of the 500 points you started these 10 rounds with, so even if at full health, bad things can happen.

Round 21-24: There are no Drives in this but Limits consume less MP than usual. There are also no Summons. This is a big clue to go ahead and use Limits till the cows come home. When they do get there, keep going on. Whirli-Goof is the best and refreshes the fastest so that you can nearly use it one time after another. Also Knocksmash. These matches have the rules of the Pain and Panic Cup. Another thing is to fly around and heal yourself if things get too ugly and don't forget your team members, especially if you put them on customized "Sora Attack", because they will fall. The best thing of having them there is they can heal you in tricky spots, but sometimes you may need to do a Curaga on them too.

Round 25
Cloud and Tifa: Both of these two are close range fighters, but Cloud darts across the screen often with his little cute battle cry. Whirli-Goof is pretty helpful in taking them down some HP and I'd recommend trying to take out Cloud first, only because he does dart around and get kind of annoying when you are beating on Tifa and he interrupts. Really you don't have to though. Using Whirli-Goof breaks both of them down nicely. Also, if things get ugly, use Trinity. Anytime you need to heal, pull away and fly around and do Curaga. Then go back in once your Limit refreshes and kick their bums.

Round 30
Hades (Normal)
You can use Limits in this battle if you want to, especially Goofy's. You can also get in and combo Hades after he does his fireballs. It's basically the former Hades match once again, so it's not that hard at all. Use glide to fly around away from him and keep an eye on him when he teleports. I had found that if I went in and Whirli-Goofed him, then immediately followed with a combo, wandered off a bit, Whirli-Goofed again and combo'd, he was very easy to take out. Limits disrupt things so it's very convenient.

31 to 39 - You can't use Summons in these matches, but you can use Forms. Final Form all the way! It gets the job done like no one's business. These battles mimic the ones of the Cerberus Cup and the battles are Timed, so you will want to be fast. You don't really have to worry about the time limit too much though. I've been through it and flown around waiting for MP to restore and never ran out of time.

Round 35 - This is best to use Final Form or even Valor works as I had discovered when accidentally pushing the wrong button. Go me! There are a ton of Rapid Thrusters and you need to destroy them all. For some reason, Magnega did not do the job nearly as well as just going in and fighting with Final Form so I would not bother, since it is timed.

Level 39 - The battles before this showed more of the Nobodies and harder foes. Level 39 has the ones with the "Learn" Reaction Command so if you want to clear them easy, use it. It goes by very fast then, in Form or not.

Round 40
Leon and Cloud
For this battle, go straight for Leon. He fires projectiles at you that can hit at long range and can make life difficult. Use Final Form on them and zero in moving constantly, since both are more suited for close range combat. If you find them too hard to take care of, try using Trinity on Leon first and then fly around, restore your MP gauge and go at Cloud. Also remember to use Curaga at a distance. Cloud can FLY in this so watch out for him if he starts doing so. When he does, use Trinity on him.

Rounds 41-48
In these rounds, even though they are Heartless and Nobodies, they are the toughest ones around. You cannot change forms now and are also on your own. Your only Limit is Trinity now and you will want to use it a lot. Magnega will not work often to aid you so don't bother relying on it at this point. The best strategy literally is to fly around avoiding them and use Trinity. Then immediately fly in the air again and keep away from them and use Trinity again until you can break down numbers. Do the same with Curaga if you need to. The enemies in this will follow you and some are pretty fast so you'll want to circle the edges of the arena and keep moving. Even then some caught me. Once you break down the numbers, they aren't such a big deal. At Round 48 or 47 there are some annoying trumpeter Heartless that will sit there and HEAL the enemies as you go to destroy them. Take out most of them but leave one if you can. After you finish with Trinity or however you take the other Heartless down, go over to the last one and wait or the Reaction Command 'Heal Stomp' and stomp on it 3 times. It will heal you and give you some extra orbs. If you have the time and patience, you can do that with all the trumpeter ones for extra orbs.

Round 49: Tifa, Cloud, Leon and Yuffie.
The four of them together seems really daunting but if you keep moving and use Trinity, you can win. First person I'd go for is Yuffie for her long range attacks. Getting them out of the way is a great thing to do. After that go for Cloud or Leon, since Leon again projects things at you, and this time Cloud can fly so he's a bigger pest than before. Lastly, move in and demolish Tifa but watch out for her Final Heaven. All of the last 9 battles pretty well require you to use Trinity and then move around and let your MP restore. Make sure you have both MP Rages equipped!

Level 50: Hades (Paradox)
Hercules joins in for this battle and is there to help you against Hades. When Hades is red, he cannot be harmed. The only way to get around that is to use Hercules's Aura Orbs at Hades. One or two good hits with them and you can go in and combo at him. Avoid his firewall as it causes a lot of damage and he will also put fire down on the ground you need to avoid. Gliding is the best option when he's in the mood for that, or just hop around. He's not too difficult with you and Herc beating on him.

After all that work, you get the Hades Cup Trophy and get to watch a small film clip of Hades getting the hoof, literally. You also have completed one of the most difficult tasks of the Journal requirements. It's time to party. Hopefully with this guide it helped you to get the points you actually needed. The Cup is not so hard once you are leveled up and have done it once or twice. The acquiring the 15,000 points is a pain in the butt though.

Port Royal

SB Time Attack
Jiminy Objective: Complete within 40 seconds
To play, talk to William Turner on the Rampart. There are 23 shining crystals that you must hit to complete the game. When one disappears, a new one will appear after. The hardest ones are where you come to a stairway leading down to the left. You want to leap in the air here towards center and hit the one, and another two come out more to the left of it, so doing a little spin that way can hit them both. After, go to the right and there will appear another crystal before a set of boxes. Hit that and then hop over the boxes which would be to the right, to hit the remaining crystals over the boxes and finish the game. Even if you miss some crystals, you can get them again and still have time to complete the 40 second requirement. The hardest part is knowing what direction to go.

Boosting Drop Rates with Lucky Lucky

To help yourself boost the drop rates that are in parentheses above, make sure Sora and his party are equipped with Lucky Lucky and some weapons that have it naturally to them. This really makes gathering items much easier for Synthesis. Each Lucky Lucky I believe increases the drop rate by 1/3rd what it is listed at.

Equip the Lucky Lucky abiity on Sora, Donald and Goofy, or whoever is in your party.
Use Sweet Memories which has it auto-equipped.
Meteor Staff for Donald has it equipped.
Genji Shield for Goofy has it equipped.
Item Ring - equip this as well which is won after the Pain and Panic Cup is defeated.
