I think Vanitas has a really good chance of coming into play. Considering that time travel is now a story element and is especially strong with the darknesses, I think that Vanitas will be one of the thirteen. This would not only make sense considering that Vanitas was Xehanort's apprentice, but it would also open the story up for development past Kingdom Hearts 3. The unversed would return, and this misplaced Vanitas would have no one to fuse with because Ventus is already whole. This would cause his emotions, and in turn the unversed, to become much more powerful. Also, let us not forget that in DDD, Young Xehanort allowed Sora to see Vanitas while telling him that his heart was a prison while Xehanort and Vanitas said in unison: "Even if you are not the prisoner." I believe that this could be foreshadowing his return as one of the thirteen darknesses, and possibly a greater role in the series.

 

Now that Riku is sort of in between light & dark (and is no longer a foil for Sora anymore), I think Vanitas could fill that role perfectly. I'd also count him amongst the 13 darknesses, although given that KH3 will conclude the Xehanort Saga, I'm not sure how likely it is that Vanitas will appear in future installments. But imo, he's too big of a character to just disappear now.

 

I agree. I'm not sure how savvy square will be about carrying Vanitas over after the Xehanort saga is over either, but I think it shows potential. Also we can take into consideration that the Xehanorts might try to bring Vanitas back by simply removing him from current Sora. Roxas and Xion have a possible future in this manner, why not Vanitas as well? We could also consider the possibility of Xehanort resorting to BOTH of these methods. This is less likely to happen imo. If it were to happen I believe it would be because a single Vanitas is unfit to be one of Xehanort's vessels, so they would merge the two to create a whole being of pure darkness.

 

I would love to see a world based on The Black Cauldron. There's so much that can be done with it.

 

I hope Final Fantasy characters will have more involvement. Disney is fine, but the reason I thought the games were cool was because it had two things I liked: Disney and FF. BBS didn't include that many Final Fantasy characters and that bummed me out.

I disagree. If FF becomes to prominent in KH, they might as well make FF. Disney should have some priority over FF in KH imo.
