Kingdom Hearts III Kingdom Hearts 3 to be PS4 exclusive (rumor).

According to this article. That, along with versus XIII. You know what that means? KH3 is in development. Maybe this rumor coming out so soon before E3 means we'll get a little something from the event about one or both of these games.

 

Eh, rumours like these always start flying around now. They take these safe bets so more people take it seriously, but they're generally not real

 

I usually stay clear of this kind of stuff, but more and more lately, especially with this coming generation, rumors which people have claimed came from trustworthy sources have proven to be true. That's what makes me take this a bit more seriously.

 

I don't think it's true, Versus is still the main priority for the KH team, and that doesn't look close to being finished at all, so no starting KH3's development.
Unless they're using the Osaka team, which I doubt.

 

I hope not, I don't want to get a PS4 anytime soon because of the massive price tag. I do hope when it finally comes out it doesn't become what Ultima IX was like because they moved the developers all to the Online series. It turned into a really crappy game from that. I doubt it, but if they decide to rush it, it could end up like that.

I can see it actually spreading to the Xbox. I mean, Final Fantasy XIII did. It would be nice if it did, mainly because I'm still torn on which system to get and it'd save me a helluva lot of money if they were on both systems and I had only one system. It would help a lot of other people too and boost sales. At least in my opinion.

 

The thing is, KH is a system selling franchise. Fans flock to whatever system the latest game is on, especially if it's a numbered sequel, resulting in a substantial boost in sales. Regardless if the rumor is true or not, it would be smart of Sony to reach some sort of agreement with SE for exclusivity.

 

True, but at the same time, Square might be reluctant of Microsoft approaches them first and offers them a really sweet deal. They want to sell their own product and unless in the contract it states otherwise, which I doubt since Nintendo has had games from the KH franchise also that they can sell on both. Microsoft could see this as a massive advantage for them to have part of the profit if there's only people with Xbox who don't want to get a PS4.

If they offer Square enough, they'll take it. It might be one of the reasons they're holding out is for a bidding war between the two even to see who would get them the best deal. I can definitely see it going on both and the sales going nuts because of it. Though Sony would never want to see that happen and will try to stop it.

I doubt KH3 would be on the Xbox. Even if it spread to Nintendo consoles, it never once reached Microsoft's. to me it seems that Nomura just doesn't like Microsoft. Versus is supposedly a Playstation exclusive too.

 

honestly kingdom hearts is awful when it comes to this type of thing..I wish that it could be availbe for both ps3 and ps4..or even better also for the ds/3ds..I cant keep buying systems man. I will go for broke

 

from the Microsoft conference that happened yesterday doesn't see like many people especially Microsoft fans are too happy with the XboxOne so far looks like ps4 sales will be high unless Microsoft pulls something fantastic out at E3 because they messed their conference up big time...didn't show any games except forza 5.....so it may be an exclusive for real

 

I doubt that he doesn't like the Microsoft. They have just had no reason to release a KH game on a Xbox platform. The upcoming 1.5 HD would be the only game to potentially release on the Xbox. But given how the Xbox isn't very big in Japan, they would only potentially release it on the Xbox in the West. But given how it's coming out to close to the next generation of consoles it will be pointless to release it on the 360.

With the next generation it would be stupid for Square-Enix not to go multi-platform. The gaming environment has changed and limiting your potential market to only one console is a bad move. With production costs being so high and the XBox One and PS4 infrastructure being so similar to one another, it would make sense to release it on both consoles.

 

Well I'm sure we will get news from Final Fantasy Versus this coming E3. And the fact that it'll be exclusively on the Ps4, isn't really a surprise considering Xbox/Microsoft isn't big in Japan, and because it's so close to the next gen, it's REALLY no surprise that it will be on the Ps4 instead of Ps3. Same thing with Kingdom Hearts 3. Although it's a "rumor" I mean, was there really any doubt that Versus and KH3 will be PS4 exclusives? Anyone could have guessed it. Haha

 

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 was already announced to be a PS3 exclusive here too.

 

At this point I'm just like wtfever. I don't care.
I'll care when they finally announce it at the turn of the century but until then I have no reason to get my hopes up for anything.
It's probably not real. How many times in the past half decade have people flipped their **** because it looks like they're finally going to announce something, and how many times have any of those been real?
Sure, new consoles coming out give reasons for people to get their hopes up about this, but looking at what we know (nothing) there's no actual reason for us to think this time is any different.

 

I think it is good publicity for them and keeps the hope alive.

As long as there's a few people who believe that there's going to be a KHIII and Vs. They'll string us along with rumors and false promises because that means we're still talking about it and it's still in our minds. As long as the public interest is at a high enough point, I still see rumors and other things happening before anythings confirmed. The sales alone for the games are still probably high enough to garnish rumors and string alongs.

But that's just me.
