Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

Eden shrugged. "When Yen Sid says we are." She combed her hands through her hair, a small time killer, in hopes of something to happen. "Gex, how was your night with Roxas and Riku anyway?"

 

"Riku said nothing, but Roxas was interesting. He spoke of emotions..something a Nobody shouldn't do.." Gexln said, voice trailing off in thought.

OOC: Hands through her hands?

bic: Eden thought of Roxas as well. "He is a nobody that formed with his somebody... so some emotions would be there... Doesn't explain as to why he's out though."

 

OOC:We're waiting on you, Jeffy!

The group that had already gotten their 'adventure clothes' had seen the moment between Eden and Gex. Roxas and Kurix just ignored it, not having anything to do with it anway. Sora and Riku looked amused, but didn't go into any deep meanings. Valerie, however, had started to giggle, and had a look as if she was thinking about something/

 

Eden sighed, watching Ashir carefully. He had been watching her for some time now, giving a squeeze to the hand he had held first, which was Roxas'. She wanted to openly show the emotions she had, but now was not a good time.
"Wielders. Come forward." the disembodied voice of Yen Sid boomed.

 

Gexln sighed. "Finally" was all he said, as he walked towards the voice.

 

"Well, wish us luck."Sora said. "You are all doomed..."Roxas said, deciding to tease. Kurix was holding Kisa, taking care of her while the wielders took the exam. "I has...er...I have faith in you!"Valerie corrected herself. "That...doesn't make us feel better, but thanks."Riku grumbled. He and Sora went toward the voice, prepared.

 

"Good luck," Kairi told Sora and Riku. She wore a pink jacket similar to her old dress over a white t-shirt. A lavender-colored skirt covered her thighs with white leggings underneath. Her shoes were the same, though they were now magically enchanted like the rest of their clothes. In addition, a yellow star-shaped barrette held her hair behind one of her ears. She knew she wasn't ready to take the exam with them yet.

Like Kurix, Naminé's outfit was more casual. She had a white spaghetti-strap shirt with light blue accents, a light blue skirt, and white sandals.
"This'll be interesting," Jeffrey said to Valerie. He wore a dark blue vest with gold accents on the shoulders and at the bottom, zipped up halfway over a red t-shirt. He had simple black pants held up by a belt, with another belt usable to hold his katana. He had dark blue fingerless gloves with red straps around the wrist and black-and-red sneakers.

 

Eden stepped forward, only to feel a slight tug. "Hm?" She turned to see Ashir tugging her hand, a blank face.
"Don't go." he whined lightly. She could only smile slightly.
"You stay, I go. No following." And with that, The Wielders formed a line, vanishing through Yen Sid's magic into a large circular room.

 

"Sweeeet."Valerie said once the keyblade wielders taking the exam vanished. "And then there were...."Kurix trailed off, counting the people left in the room. "Nine....wait, we're missing someone..."he said. "Did you count yourself?"Roxas asked. "Oh! Okay, we have ten."Kurix smiled. Valerie couldn't help but laugh at the little mistake. She was holding Rikus bag while he took the exam, Chester taking a nap inside. Roxas sighed, taking a seat on the floor to wait. "and then there were 10....8 not counting the chocobo and the heartless."he said. "Thats what I said!"Kurix huffed. "Holy Luna, they made it like Mary Poppins bag..."Valerie said, scouraging through Rikus bag.

 

Equius stood by Ashir, curling around him since Master had given him soft regards.

Yen Sid was still nowhere to be seen, but his voice was very clear. "This is the test, go forth and find who is the best of you by skill. No magic."
Eden gulped at that, as she mostly depended on her fires in the first place. But, she summoned her fire red keyblade, glancing at her right leg, hoping it would keep up. She wasn't fast or strong like the others, but she would find some way to win... if she could.

 

"Best in skill? No magic? That's it? So i don't even have to use the keyblade?" Gexln asked, shocked. However, he couldn't help but laugh quietly. I'm bound to win, so long as they don't team up on me..

 

"No magic. Got it."Sora nodded. Riku didn't seem phased. He and Sora had the advantage really, they probably had more experience with non-magic combat. But then again, Gexln wouldn't be a pushover... Sora had Oblivion out, Riku summoning Way to Dawn. "Just tell us when to start."Sora said.

"hello.... Why didn't we notice these in there?"Valerie noticed a pack of playing cards. "Huh. I guess even Riku gets bored sometimes..."she looked through the cars. Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs....all cards were accounted for. "Put those back..."Roxas and Kurix said at once. "No way! We have to have something to pass the time while we're wai-"Valerie stopped mid-sentence, an evil scheme being plotted in her head. "No...Nonononono..."Roxas seemed to know that look somehow, Kurix however looking clueless. "How about a li-ttle game...?"Valerie had a mischevious smile.

"No...."Roxas said. "What kind of game...?"Kurix almost didn't want to ask. "Well. None of use here are probably professionals at playing cards...so basically it wouldn't be unfair considering skill..."Valerie somehow planned it out in a minute. "We are NOT playing poker of any sorts."Roxas protested. "Uh, yeah.... what's poker?"Kurix asked. "Just say no. Who knows what she's thinking..."Roxas huffed. Valerie just sighed, putting the cards in her pocket in case they changed their mind.

 

"This is the Mark of Mastery Exams for Wielders of The Key. So only the Keyblade is to be used, no magic, only the skill of the Key." Yen Sid repeated. Eden still felt nervous at that. "And, Go." Immediately the Wielder of Earth ran away from everyone the best she could.

Sora and Riku started going at eachother, acting like it was just another of their fake sword fights back on the islands. Sora was trying to hold back a laugh when Eden ran away, blocking a strike from Way to Dawn. They had to admit, if the others decided to join the fray, a four-way fight would have been interesting.

Sure it had only been a few minutes, but the gang was already out of their mind. Valerie was looking at the playing cards, Roxas was laying down on the floor. Kurix was holding Kisa, who had fallen asleep. Chester was napping in Rikus bag still... "Okay. All in favor of playing a quick card game, say I."Valerie said, raising her arm. "I...."Roxas raised his arm, guessing it was just a simple game of go-fish or something. What does a kid know about playing poker, anyway....

 

Eden watched Sora and Riku silently while keeping a circle around and keeping far from Gexln. "Stay calm, stay calm. You're a pacifist, and yet has to fight. Oh f this I'll fight when later." She mumbled to herself, worried that the Nobody would charge right at her for a fight.

 

Gexln took a few steps back away from Riku and Sora. He was close enough the he could see what was happening easily, but far enough that if they suddenly attacked him he could escape if he had to. He sat down and stretched out his legs lazily. This is going to be a long day he thought.

Riku and Sora were too busy to notice the other two hiding, locked into their own fray. Block, parry, strike.... Just like their practice battle. Only now Sora was able to jump over any low swings and duck under high swings. They finnaly realized the other two wouldn't join in anytime soon, nodding at eachother. Riku charged at Gexln, while Sora went after the scared Eden. Sorry, Eden. But you're not gonna get any experience playing chicken....Sora thought as he headed towards Eden. They were gonna make it a four-way fight whether the others wanted to or not....

 

"I, I guess," Jeffrey replied, taking a seat on the ground next to the others. He pointed his index finger Valerie. "But we better not be playing what I think you want to us to play..."
"I'll pass," Naminé replied, holding her sketchbook. "I'd rather just draw. Thanks for the offer, though."
"I'll play, too," Kairi added. "So what are we going to play?"

 

Gexln quickly stood up. "You're really going to try this, aren't you Riku?" Gexln questioned. He sighed. "Some people just never learn" he said as he held out his left hand and summoned The Shadow Keyblade. "Try not to make this too easy" he taunted.
