Luna attacked Lucifer once more and stood in a defensive stance with her keyblade near her right arm and her left arm not moving at all.

 

Wincing at the thought of what he had said, 'Lucy Pennyworth!', Base took a quick glance over to the red haired one. When he had said "Warrior", he obviously hadn't been kidding. Base could not read auras, but he could listen to people, watch them and their expressions, and get a roughly good idea of who they were. That was why he distrusted the masked one more; Base couldn't read his face because there was no face to read. And to him, this person seemed ruthless enough in appearance alone to be a warrior.

Haphazardly, Base addressed the self-proclaimed warrior, with as sturdy a grin as he could muster, "Warrior? I believe it." It was thinking out loud; a thing Base did quite often. Also, something that had gotten him into a great deal of trouble in the past. He had thus a philosophy on socializing that forced him into silence, rather than speak and lie, or speak and tell a truth that would not be well-received.

 

Kel ran in and attacked the cat.

 

Steel used a Potion on Etrius.

 

Base heard what the young girl had to say, and saw the damaged and withdrawn look on her face that came in every time she realized her dreams were for naught. He was unsure if what he thought to say was the right thing to say, but Music was his life, and if anyone ever told him he could not listen or play or even create a certain kind of music, or even music in general, because he was too little or too much of anything, he'd feel the same. He thought with purpose for a moment, trying to make a cliche sound heartfelt, as it was emphatically from his own heart.

"I don't think someone with talent should be kept from what makes them happy, so long as someone isn't hurt. I can kind of tell why people don't want you to show your gift, but I also think, judging from what I just saw, this is something that means a lot to you; if something means that much to you, I don't think you'd want to hurt someone with it." He spoke from the heart, as he had planned. It was the same old: Follow your Dreams bit, but it was also much more. He understood. He cared.

"You don't want to hurt anyone, right? So... what should be stopping you?" He concluded, his tone genial and kind. There was truth in his words. He knew it. He hoped the young girl called Relena would at least listen to part of what he had to say. He did not care much for people when he did not know their pain, but as soon as he felt longing or suffering or even a bright glimmer of hope, a part of Base was drawn to this factor; it made him want to help. It was in his nature; a nature not of servitude, but of devotion to hope.

 

"Well thank you," Etrius said to Steel, voice monotone over the fighting. Etrius attacked again. Is this was how he was built? Made to take hits? As Etrius thought, black smoke started to pour out of his shoulders. Etrius attacked again his attack more vigorous.

 

Luna looked over at Etrius and saw little wisps of black smoke emitting from his hands. There's darkness emitting from him, but why? Maybe he's letting anger get the best of him once more. Whatever the cause may be, I need to defeat this cat.Luna looked back at Lucifer and ran up to attack him.

 

Kel paid no attention to the darkness emitting from Etrius and proceeded to attack Lucifer again.

 

Steel was laughing harder now. "Now THIS is fun!" he shouted. "Slow down a bit there pal." he said as he raised his keyblade, causing a time field to surround Lucifer.

 

Etrius slashed again, but his anger was relaxed and controlled slashes. "If my anger is going to help me protect what is right and avenge the ones I love," Etrius said in a tone that sounded inhuman. "I'll gladly let it take control!" Etrius ran to a nearby wall, and bounced off of it, attacking the beast's flank.

 

Shapur nodded at what Base had to say. In this girl, he saw himself at her age; a young boy, an aspiring warrior. "That man... Lucy... is right." Shapur stood up. "If you have a dream, pursue it with courage and honor. Should naysayers smite you upon one cheek, smash them upon the other!" He sat back down again. "So says the Warrior's Mantra."

 

Base's response to being called "Lucy" was, in all essence, priceless. His blank stare of chagrin hollowed him out and his face reflected as such. "It's Base..." He repeated emptily, entrapped in engulfing embarrassment. His senses slowly came back to him and his face filled back up with expression. The stabbing ping of embarrassment had come and gone, but not without being very noticeable.

Luna ran up to strike Lucifer. She turned toward Etrius, "If you think anger will make you strong, then you're dead wrong!" Luna scowled at him and continued to speak."Anger will only lead to darkness and im sure the ones you're trying to protect won't like that one bit." She turned toward Lucifer once more and ran up and attacked once more.
