Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Base leaned against the stone railing overlooking a vast field on the other side, the stone edifice like a high battlement. This world, much like the last one, was so new and he had been tempted to simply find someone to tell him where to room; but instead, he'd just wandered around in the town, and around the training grounds. There, surrounded by training dummies, he already questioned if he truly felt at home anywhere else besides Theate, Mysterious Tower, and Pleasure Islands; maybe this was a new home for him, but he had been sorely tempted to open the book that had been a gift from one of the three good fairies, that he may go into the book and into the Metropolis of the Pleasure Islands. Still, he had to see this "Land of Departure" for all it's worth, and he found the setting quite serene and beautiful. He'd have to ask someone soon for a room, as he was getting tired, but, all the same, a little Rest and Relaxation was due; and could not be filled by merely sleeping.

Pushing against the white, solid brick, Base heaved himself onto the wall and stood what felt like miles above silky green masses of grass that whisked in the wind, and twirled on their roots as though dancing together as one. He sat there, on the hard surface in the rays of the sun, locked in deep thought.

 

As Kel watched Blaze fly off, he couldn't help but feel a mixture of annoyance and confusion. After all, he didn't even bother to answer any questions. It wasn't like they ask anything related to the future or something like that. Though he had to admit, it wasn't a complete waste. After all, he did find out about another potential way to access his home. So with that potential hope in mind, he headed out the main hall and walked out of the interior part of the hall.

While he was walking, he noticed Beuce, Luna and Ananta. Though what confused him was the expressions on there faces. Apparently something had happened between them. Did I miss something here? He wondered before moving towards Ananta. "Any reason your sitting on your butt?" he figured that starting with her would be a good way to get an understanding of what was going on.

 

Ananta looked up at Kel. She shook her head and stood up carefully. Patting the dust from her bottom, she held her crystal necklace once again. It still was colder than before, it scared her but that was of no concern right now, seeing as there were many in danger. Many who are way more important than just one girl and a crystal. "Well, Beuce here was getting angry and Luna also was angry. I felt a bit weak and decided to sit down a moment. That's really all that happened. It doesn't help that Blaze guy decided to ignore any questions from the peanut gallery so...it's a little tense to say the least." she rambled a bit, but got the point across.

Stepping forward a bit, she turned back to Kel. "I don't think I've been introduced to you. I'm Ananta. How about you?" she smiled meekly.

 

Steel simply stood there as "Blaze" took off. "He's so obviously ***." He said with a censor. He already said he wasn't allowed to tell his real name. Therefore: Steel should not be able to say the letters either. He sat down on a ledge and thought about the last words of the visitor. "Don't let the darkness get you... Heh, that's right." He whispered to himself as he looked on at his traveling companions. "I would hate to have to consume any of you..." He then vanished in a puff of black smoke; reappearing in the throne room. He sighed. "Balance... I'm glad places like this can exist." He wondered once again about his question to krowley.

 

"I see." Kel replied. Well that explained a lot. Maybe she wasn't used to all that anger and it had an effect on her. Well that was what he assumed anyway. "You can call me Kel. Is there anything here you want to see?" As long as they were introducing themselves, he figured that he might as well offer to show her around the Land of Departure.

 

Tapping a finger on her chin, she began to think about what she wanted to see. There were a lot of things she could think of, but for now, she thought of three things. "Food, sleeping, and training. Those are the main things, actually. I'm starving, but I really wanna learn how to use a glider like you guys first...so let's go to the training grounds?" she suggested. Her hunger can subside until then. She just doesn't want to waste time.

 

Upon hearing her request, Kel took a moment to think about them himself. He knew were the training grounds and rooms were, but as for any where with food, he had no idea. Fortunately for him though she wanted to head to the training grounds. "Okay, training grounds it is." He said, leading her towards their destination. Once there, the logs meant for keyblade practice were still there along with some dents in them. "You said you wanted to learn how to use a glider, can you summon one?"

 

Ananta shook her head. "I mean, I don't think I know. I could try doing what everyone else was doing as we left Cinderella's. Here goes!" she said. Holding her hand out, she summoned the keyblade in a dash of fire. It was warm, but it didn't burn or hurt. A strange sensation, but Ananta will get used to it. Eventually. Looking up, she made sure nothing was in the way. Holding her keyblade, she tossed it in the air. It flew up and then started to fall. It smacked her in the head and hit the ground with a loud KLINK! Rubbing her temple, she looked at the keyblade and then back to Kel. "Don't laugh!" she begged him, chuckling herself. That was a bad attempt.

 

Base opened his eyes from out of his trance high above the rest of the world below. The opening had been prompted by a loud klunk nearby, and so he turned to look to see what was the matter. Once he saw Ananta in the midst of recovering from her self-inflicted blunder, he chortled and shook his head; 'Kind of like me, before Yen Sid showed me how to work this thing.'

"Hey,... ummm... Miss? Do you need a hand with that?" He'd heard the word 'glider', so he knew what they were at.

 

After seeing Ananta'a attempt at summoning a glider, he couldn't help be chuckle lightly to himself. So it wasn't a natural thing to be able to summon one, after all his just came when he called for it. "Well, now I know that it doesn't just come natural." Tossing his keyblade in the air, he demonstrated it's whole transformation into a glider and it came back down and landed next to him. Unfortunately Kel wasn't a good teacher when it came to this kind of thing, if it was something hand to hand related, then he would be more qualified to teach someone.

 

Looking at the newcomer, she shook her head a little and smiled. Picking her keyblade up, she nodded towards him. "Yeah, I do. I'm Ananta. You?" she had a feeling this was going to take awhile. Although, looking at Kel and hearing it was natural to some, she was a little disheartened. What if she couldn't learn easily? What if she never learned? These were but a few of the things floating in her mind as she awaited the newcomer's name.

 

"Sebastian Noble, but call me Base, please." He was his suave, gentile self as he hopped from the flat concrete railing where he had sat. "You're trying to learn how to operate the glider, right? I can teach you, if you like. Master Yen Sid taught me, so I am sort of capable of teaching what I know."

He had yet to see Master Yen Sid since the moment when the elder had sent the younger on his way to hurtle a long ways to the surface of Pachyderm Parade; and yet, he could feel the old wizard was near. Maybe, just maybe, he'd see him. Just maybe.

 

"That would be greatly appreciated, Sebastion." Ananta spoke. She stepped back a bit, so as to give him room to land. Looking at him, she thought he was pretty weak looking. Kel, however, seemed...strong? Who knows, everyone seems weak to Ananta anyway. Though she doesn't dare admit it directly. Holding her keyblade up, she looked at Base. "So, what do I need to do? Other than throw my keyblade in the air, of course."

 

"You have to have a strong will... just will it to be." Base raise his right arm straight out and with a burst of light, welcomed the new Unbound Keyblade he had attached to his belt while meditating on the wall. He did not strain under the weight of the heavy blade, but instead tossed it into the air with ease. He closed his eyes and just before the blade came bursting through his skull, it shifted into a motorbike-like vehicle that floated just above his black hair. The motor ran audibly as it revved into motion, and the whole of the richly designed craft glided to the ground, hovering ever so slightly, right in front of him. "I cannot give you the will." Base did his best impression of his own teacher, Yen Sid; quoting what he said exactly to him. "That you must do on your own. Saying the word "Glide", however, will most assuredly assist."

 

Nodding and watching the demonstration Ananta looked at Base. "So...just will it...? Sounds easier said than done..." she sighed a bit. Closing her eyes, she imagined using a glider that would take her to every world from now until the end. A glider that would always be there and would never disappear for as long as she willed it. Holding her keyblade, she tossed it into the air. It was engulfed in a flame. Ananta jumped into the fire as it began to disappear and soon flew down beside Base. She was standing on a glider that looked like a sailboard. It left a trail of fire that disspersed quickly. Standing on it, Ananta got a little excited and turned back to Base. "Sebastion, look! I did it!" she giggled. Moving along on her glider, she did some flips and spins for practice and fun. She was very happy.

 

Kel, who'd decided to sit on his summon glider and watch, clapped at her accomplishment. While he didn't admit things like this often, in this case Sebastian was probably better at teaching her this than he was. "Well there you go, now you can use a glider."

 

The word "Glide" wouldn't have worked, or at least, it wouldn't have been what worked. "Glide" was simply a way of getting the student to believe they were controlling the situation, which was the bottom line of what they needed to do. It had taken Base many times of saying "Glide" to believe he could use the glider, and then Yen Sid told him he didn't need the word; Ananta had done it without the word. He was impressed. "Good job. If you get it now, you'll get it later; trust me." He thought for a moment, then jumped into the seat of his glider. With a loud engine roar, he reared around (Cosmic dust spouted from the exhaust.) to the edge where he had been sitting. "Fancy a race to learn how to operate? We can sort out a few obstacles, I think; teach you all the basics."

 

"A race?" she questioned him. Although it would be fun, she stopped her spinning to float back to the others. Her stomach grumbled quite loudly. Patting her stomach, she looked up at the two. "I'm...actually hungry, to tell the truth. I wouldn't be able to race well hungry, ya know? How bout you guys, you hungry too?" she hopped off her glider and watched as it changed back to keyblade form. Picking it up, she held it for a moment before it disappeared. Blinking, she couldn't figure out why it disappeared, but at least she wouldn't have to lug it around for awhile.

 

Kel head Base's suggestion of a race and was intrigued. When it came to things like this, he was pretty competitive and would gladly join in on the race. Granted when Ananta mention something about food, his opinion suddenly changed. "I could go for some food." He said, hopping off his glider. Once he'd landed, the glider had reverted back to a keyblade and soon vanished into thin air.
