Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Steel sighed. "I suppose." He turned around. "Rather busy today." he said as the rain started up for a third time. He walked up the steps with Cat following behind. "It's nice to meet you by the way." He said to her. "Also, just so you know, we can all be a bit... quirky around here." He continued to walk up the steps back towards the inside.

 

As the rain began to fall, Cat pulled at her cap and put her hands in her pockets, feeling the letter under her left hand. She listened to Steel talk about those who had arrived, and while she didn't know exactly what to expect, she figured there was no helping the fact that the group would be diverse. "Well, at least quirks keep things from getting too dull." She grinned as they finally entered the main floor. "And it's nice to meet you too."

 

"Sure!" Flora said, taking a bit out of the meatloaf. "OH WOW! THIS IS RIDICULOUSLY COOL I MUST KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!" Flora said, literally bouncing off the walls. Suddenly, she stopped. "I should do the dishes! When everyone's done, they can just hand them to me!" She dashed off, but realized she still hadnt eaten. "Oh, uh, may I have some more please?" She asked politely.

 

Steel smiled and nodded. He walked inside the castle and led her to the kitchen. Inside: Flora was acting rather hyper over Ananta's food, Eon sat off by himself, and Kel and Base didn't seem to be doing anything in particular. "Karina is hiding in a dark corner somewhere, Etrius is training, and who knows where Krowley is. All the same, I introduce you to Most of our group." He gestured with his gauntlets at the group, wondering how everyone would respond to each other. He looked around and noticed Luna had also departed for the outdoors. But he was mainly wondering why the 12 year old wasn't eating everything in sight. "Picky?" He asked Eon as Cat began to interact with the others.

 

Ananta laughed at Flora's reaction to the meatloaf. "Well, on my world the food tasted different, so I suppose I'm seasoning based on that. It's not like I could taste the meat before it was cooked, anyway." she said, handing the rest to Flora. She stood up, finishing her milk, as Steel and a newcomer came in. Ananta sat the glass down and ran over to the newcomer. She pounced on her, moreso giving a hug than anything. "Hey new person, what's your name, mine's Ananta!" she spoke with glee. New people are the best!

 

Cat smiled on at the group, particularly the girl who was shouting with excitement, but before she could move she felt someone jump on her back. Their arms wrapped around her, as though she were getting ready for a piggyback ride, and before she could say a thing she heard the girl introduce herself as Ananta. Cat stumbled towards the table and grabbed the edge before she nearly collapsed. "I'm Cat... hi." She spoke, struggling to keep herself standing. "Would you mind... getting off my back... please?" She looked up and saw the food, which looked just as good as it smelled, and had to focus to keep herself from drooling over it; the first chance she got, she'd grab a plate and have a little slice of heaven.

 

"Okay!" she giggled. Ananta did something crazy next. She vaulted off of Cat and landed on the floor, across from the table Cat was grabbing hold of. Adjusting her clothes a bit, she walked off to the kitchen to prepare more food. This time, she made fajitas. Walking out and setting the food down near cat, she began to make herself a fajita. "So, are you on the same boat as some of us, or were you requested to be here? What I mean to say is, destroyed world or letter?" she spoke before taking a bite of fajita.

 

Cat stood up straight, feeling the weight fly off her shoulders. When she saw Ananta fly to the other side of the table, however, she stood in awe, quickly pulling herself together. She moved near a chair and watched as the fajita was being prepared. She was quite shocked by her last question. "Uh, I came because of the letter." She felt quite bad knowing that other worlds had already been destroyed, and she thought about what might be happening back home right now. She moved towards the kitchen to see if there was anything she could actually make, and sure enough there was a box of rotini sitting in a cabinet. She began to cook it, stirring the pasta in the scalding water and trying her hardest to put the bad thoughts aside. She'd only just left, and there was no way she'd ever let her home be destroyed. After tasting it to make sure it was ready, she served herself a plate, grabbed some butter and parmesan, and brought the rest out for everyone else. "I've got more if anyone wants it," she said, sitting down to finally enjoy her meal.

 

Flora went over to Cat and extended a hand. "My name is Flora Diane Piementon. How do you do?" She asked. For some reason, the food gave her all her energy back. She was glad Karina couldn't see, otherwise bad juju would have happened. Bad juju as in the good impressions Flora made on her would be overwritten. The new girl had apparently made Pasta and offered some to everyone. "I would, but in stuffy stuffed. All the way up to the top of my belly and back down and up and back down again. Sorry if I ramble by the way, I have this really really really bad habit of going on and on when I meet new people and creeping them out a bit, especially when I've been fed really well and- oh, sorry..."

 

Ananta ate her fajita and watched the two interact. Finishing it, she began making another fajita. They were really good and she couldn't help herself. "You're stuffed already? But you ate only one thing!" she exclaimed. She wasn't used to other people not eating as much as her own people. Of course, not everyone had a large stomach like her people have. No matter, she ate her fajita happily enough. Except she was getting rather full now, so she didn't make another fajita once this one was gone.

 

Cat looked up and swallowed before shaking Flora's hand. She smiled as the girl continued to ramble, glad that people were more happy-go-lucky than she'd first imagined. "Oh, it's not a problem," she replied. "I really don't mind it that much." She kept chowing down at what was on her plate, quickly reducing it to nothing.

 

Steel watched as Krowley took off. "Sorry." He said to Eon. "We'll get you fed later pal." He walked outside and acknowledged that the rain had stopped. "Bit erratic but okay..." He summoned stroke of midnight and tossed it up in the air. When It came back down it was a rather grey looking keyblade. He jumped on the scooter like model and rode off into the sky....

When he reached the destination he had chosen from the Holo-Almanac, he squinted. "A bit bright for a place with so much darkness..." He said to himself. As he neared the ground, he saw that their was a palace made almost entirely of gold. "Ah, that explains it." He reached the ground and hopped off his glider. It disappeared as he took a good look at his surroundings. "This should be interesting." He whispered to himself.

 

Ananta watched Steel leave. "Oh, guess it's time to go. Come on Cat, you can ride with me." she spoke to the newcomer, walking towards the door. She had a feeling that Cat couldn't use a glider, so she was going to offer her a ride. Maybe even teach her a bit on the way to their next destination. Stopping in the doorway, she crossed her arms. "Coming or not?" she spoke sarcastically. "I'll leave you behind, if you don't hurry!"

 

Cat saw the masked man walk out and was tempted to follow him. However, before she could, Ananta spoke up, offering to go together. "Uh, sure. Why not?" Truth be told, she had no idea what the girl meant by "ride," but there was probably going to be a substantial learning curve anyway. She followed her out towards the door and stared in awe as Steel turned his Keyblade into some sort of scooter. She heard Ananta threaten to abandon her and rushed down towards the courtyard. "Well then," she thought. "All you have to do is throw it?" Cat held out her arm and summoned her Keyblade, which had a yellow hilt, black handle and grey blade. She closed her eyes, praying that she wouldn't totally embarrass herself, and tossed it up into the air. It spun around high above her and after a few seconds she heard the thud behind her. She turned, hoping to see a cool motorcycle or something, but was disappointed to see that it had retained its regular form. She sighed -- clearly disappointed and probably blushing -- and let it disappear on its own before turning back to Ananta. "So, about that ride..."

 

Watching the scene, she couldn't help but be reminded of herself. Stepping down the stairs, she stopped near Cat. She held her hand forward and summoned her keyblade in a blazing fire. Tossing it up, she imagined the same thing she saw before. Her keyblade was engulfed by fire again and she jumped into it, disappearing for a moment as the fire soon dissipated. Floating down, she stopped by Cat. "I can teach you a bit on the way, if you want. It'll be a bit before we reach our destination anyway." she said, leaving plenty of room on the sailboard for Cat to ride. To be honest, she didn't even know where Steel went, so she was just going to hope she went to the same place as him.

 

Cat saw Ananta create a fiery sailboard, and she was amazed. As the girl came down to her level, she offered to teach her on the way, which was thoroughly appreciated after having made a complete fool out of herself, and Cat smiled. "Yeah, that'll work. Thanks." She hopped on and held on tight, not knowing what to expect. "I think Steel went for that one," she said, pointing to the portal with what looked like a Mayan temple inside.

 

"That one?" she looked at it. The thing seemed really gaudy. "I guess we can try." Ananta made her glider do a spin before she sped off towards the portal. While they flew towards their destination, she began her explanation. "Okay, so, you know you throw the keyblade in the air at least. But you have to will the keyblade into a glider. Think about being able to fly and go to many different worlds. Yours is gonna be different from everyone's since everybody uses a different keyblade, but it'll be something cool I bet. It also helps to say glide or glider if you need to" she spoke, watching them get closer and closer to their destination.

Bursting through the portal, she looked down and saw Steel was examining his surroundings. The huge gold object was indeed there. It also was very bright, kinda hurt the eyes if you stared too long. Getting close to the ground, she decided to do something crazy and unsummon her glider in the air. "Get ready!" she exclaimed, watching the glider disappear. She began to drop and landed on her feet, having already known what she was doing. Hopefully Cat followed suit.

 

Cat held on tight as they spun in the air and flew towards the portal. She listened to Ananta's explanation as the sped towards the circle of light. She nodded, glad that she knew what to do this time, and grinned as they were sent off into another world.

It was hard to adjust at first, but after a few seconds Cat looked up at the giant temple in front of them. It seemed a bit gaudy and, er, gold for her tastes, but she guessed that it just came with the territory. She looked down and saw Steel scoping the place out and smiled, glad that she had sent them the right way. She heard Ananta tell her to get ready and before she could ask why the glider disappeared from under her. Her heart nearly skipped a beat, but she instinctively summoned her Keyblade. However, instead of trying to make her own glider, she pointed the blade down at the ground and tried to straighten herself. Somehow she managed to stay in one piece, despite a bit of soreness, and she pulled her blade out from the soft earth. "Ugh. Would you mind giving me more of a heads up next time?"

 

"Was me not saying get ready enough? Well, excuse me princess!" she jokingly said. Standing up straight, she noticed her clothes had unraveled a bit. The once tied coat had untied itself and now hung to her sides. Lifting the two sides of the coat, she folded them over her stomach and tied it behind her back once more. For the time being, she was adjusting her clothes a bit, that last maneuver had made her a bit dirty. Once again, she stood up and looked around.


It was a forest, lush and pretty, surrounding the hills that housed a temple. She barely saw beyond the forest and noticed a village on some hills, with a house up top. She assumed that must be the leaders house of the village. Turning back towards the temple, it really was as gaudy as it first appeared. Hopefully it didn't look as bad on the inside as it did the outside. "So, now what do we do? Do we keep looking around or do we head inside? I, for one, would like to stay away from the huge temple for now." Ananta made a disgusted face at the building.
