Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

The old man grabbed Cat by her shirt and started warning her to "beware the groove." His hand was shaking the whole time, which made it hard for her to take it seriously, but any guy who would toss an innocent old man out the window of such a tall temple for messing with his "pattern of behavior" deserved what she had planned for him. When he let go and limped away, she looked back up at the stoic guards and started up the stairs. "Come on, guys." She didn't dare to look behind her, focusing only on what she'd do when they got to this emperor and his so-called groove.

 

Ananta watched as the old man warned them to 'Beware the groove', as he put it. "Beware the groove...?" she repeated as he walked away. A groove must be the most important thing to this emperor for him to throw a guy out the window. As Cat asked the guard for an audience, Ananta muttered "And here I thought the emperor's on my world were cruel..." Suffice to say, her world's emperor's never really did anything to upset the people, they just increased the taxes from time to time. Nothing too big, to be honest.

She finally turned to Eon and took a good look at him. Which caused her to stop once she noticed how short he was. Then, something in her mind clicked. "Hey, shorty, didn't you give me a ride way back in Cinderella's world...?" she asked. Come to think of it, he did sound exactly the same as the guy from then who gave her a ride. So now, Ananta was sure he was the guy. "You know, I was the girl who punched Beuce?" she chuckled. That was actually pretty fun to punch him. Albeit, she didn't want to do it again, it kinda hurt.

 

Etrius remained silent as the group bickered. "Don't you think we should be more worried about the emperor, whoever he is? I doubt that throwing old men for stalling a liege's groove hardly fits the topic of normality." Etrius said, cutting in, "Oh, and I don't believe we've met." Etrius said to Anata, "I'm Etrius. I'd love to stay and chat, but I have a guy to find, if you don't mind. So, that being said, I shall investigate who this emperor is, and why he throw random people out windows for random things." He began to walk away, silently looking and observing.

 

Eon was about to follow Cat up to meet with the emperor until another girl stopped him. First off she called him short. He was young so he couldn't help it. Then she began to explain that she was the girl he aided in getting back to the Land of Departure. He couldn't really remember her face much. He was really poor with remember faces. That got him into a lot of trouble back in his world. "Well, I'm 12, I cant help but be short. And maybe? I have a hard time remembering people's faces or even their voices. I'm sorry." He looked back up to see Cat getting even further. "We should probably move up to meet with the emperor like she is. Lets go." He said with a brief smile. He ran up the stairs to catch up with Cat and see what in the world this emperor was thinking.

 

"My real name is Flora. nice to meet you." Flora said to Raisor, then she looked at Glen. "Excuse me, but I don't want to be the one that gets executed for treason when we inevitably go into the army and they realize one of the new recruits is a bit off. Just as she was about to slap him, her leg twitched. "Why do I get the feeling somebody trudged off alone to go see an emperor?" She quickly preformed a head count of her group. "Oh, I'm crazy, we're all here."

Before she could turn back to Glen and continue scolding him, she heard the booming voice of a dragon. "Um... Am I the only one who hears a dragon and sees a shadow back there?" She turned. "A monster!" Flora looked back at her team. "Guys, come on! We have to do something! Please don't just sit here!"

 

"We probably should, yeah. I'm Ananta by the way." she said as she followed Cat up the stairs. They were steep and so many. Counting them as they walked, she knew this was going to take awhile. At least, that's what she was thinking before they reached the top. Looking at the door in front of them, it was pretty ornate. Carvings were etched into them. They swung open as everyone else approached and inside was almost as gaudy as the outside was. Curtains hanging everywhere, some with faces on them. The walls even had faces at some places. The whole thing made Ananta feel sick at her stomach.

"I just ate, why did we have to come to a world with a place as ugly as this?" she whined. You're one to talk, Ananta. Your homeworld could be just as gaudy sometimes! Ananta shook her head, the words that sassed her just simply would not do. Hopefully, the others would be able to make heads or tails of this place and not get sick.

 

As they finally reached the top, Cat stormed up towards the doors that opened before them. Inside, they were greeted with gaudy decorations galore: red walls with darker hues outlining stairs and faces, curtains with their own expressions that could make anyone tremble, and another big door at the other end of the room. She heard Ananta complain about the palace and replied as she stormed towards the other door. "Well, this guy's tastes are clearly as bad as his attitude. Still, we're about to fix that."

 

"Ugly??" Etrius said, hopping next to Anata in a flash, "You calling this place ugly? Not to make assumptions, but it doesn't look like you have an interest for ancient architecture. Like I should talk though. I never was interested in buildings like this in the first place. To me, this place looks like the emperor plastered his face all over the place. Talk about his ego being too inflated.."
He walked around the room, his eyes lingering along the assortment of stuff. "I'm already getting bad vibes. Any suggestions??"

 

Yzma was her name. The big guy, who is probably Kronk from what Yzma is yelling, seems like a good guy. She watched him hand Eon a bag as he ran back. Ananta approached Eon and was about to ask what's in the bag when Kronk came running back. "Nice meeting you." he said. "Nice meeting you, too." she replied. "I like Kronk, he seems really nice. Too bad he's stuck with that dusty, old hag." she reached for the bag. "I wonder what's in this?" she said as she pulled her hand away. Maybe they're poisoned? No, that can't be right. Why would they be poisoned? A silly notion, she thought as she shook her head.

"Oh, my name is Ananta, for anyone that didn't know." she smiled. Mostly introducing herself to Eon, but that other guy with the cloak probably needed to be introduced to as well. She looked over to Cat. "Hey, Cat, don't you want to see what Kronk left us?"

 

Etrius watched as Yzma and Kronk walked away. He wasn't exactly happy at being called a peasant, but hey, better to have pride hurt rather then getting kicked out. "I think Cat is more preoccupied of scolding the emperor. Let's see where that gets us." Etrius said to Ananta, teasingly. Etrius wouldn't really tease in these situations, but there need to be humor every now and then. "In that respect, why would he fire Yzma? And what for?"

 

The door opened and two people stepped out: an angry old woman and a young, bulky guy carrying what appeared to be a box full of her things. She paused briefly to call them peasants before going out the way they'd just come and the guy apologized on her behalf, handing Eon a box of cookies. Cat could already tell that he, the lady had called him Kronk, was nicer than the woman he called Yzma was. When he turned back to say it was nice meeting them, she smiled and replied, "Same to you, Kronk." Ananta said she liked him and Cat nodded in agreement. She smiled when she looked at the bag of cookies Eon had and Ananta asked if she wanted to see what was inside. "You think I don't?" She heard Etrius, however, and remembered what she came for in the first place. "As much as I'd like to take a snack break, we're here for a reason." She grinned and walked in the direction that Kronk and Yzma had come from. When she stepped through the door, she was surprised at what she saw.

 

They entered the main palace and it was large. Very large. He saw the thrown the emperor sat on, a solid gold seat that extended far off the ground. It was intimidating almost. Then, a creepy old woman with a light purple skin tone and a very boney appearance walked passed them mumbling she had been fired. She shoved them aside as well which was in its own right very rude. After she passed by a large fellow by the name of Kronk passed by holding a box. He explained the situation and all became understandable onto why she was enraged. Then the next thing was Eon being given a box of cookies. Why him he couldn't tell but so far, he liked this Kronk character. Eon grabbed one of the cookies and began to eat it. He didn;t have much to eat anyway. The first bite he took his eyes widened and his moth dropped. They were delicious. "These cookies are amazing, here everyone, try some." Eon said handing out cookies to his friends before they were to meet with the emperor.

 

Ananta stared at the bag. Her mouth began to water quite a bit as she reached in and grabbed at least four cookies. She munched one and instantly felt energized. Her body tingled as she devoured the rest of the cookies in her hand. Each one tasted wonderful and each felt even better as they traveled down her esophagus and into her stomach. Gulping hard, Ananta spoke enthusiastically. "These are amazing! Much better than any other delicacies I've had before this. I must get his recipe." she quivered. Indeed, these cookies were the stuff of legends.

 

Etrius just smirked at the group as they ate the cookies. He wasn't really hungry, but more interested in getting the situation over with. He looked back at the opened doors. Who would this emperor be? He was very curious. He strayed from the group and entered through door. No one would actually miss him, he would be back. He was quick after all.

 

When Steel saw an old man get thrown out the window, he instantly realized where he was. Since everyone just assumed Steel would silently follow, he decided to linger in their shadows instead. He couldn't understand why they thought the Emperors behavior random: It was quite basic really. See, the old guy threw off his pattern of behavior: Throwing people out of their behaviors can lead to an unpredictability of one surprisingly simple logic. 1. Old guy "Throws" off groove. 2. Emperor has old guy "Thrown" out window. Simple. As Yzma and Kronk walked out, Steel made a mental note to later visit the "Secret Lab" for coffee with the two and recipe exchanging with Kronk. The hand of Eon's shadow then reached up, grabbed a cookie and popped it into where it's mouth would be. "Yum" Steel said.

 

As Ananta grabbed for another cookie, she couldn't help but notice a dark tendril-like hand reached for a cookie. It slithered back to the floor underneath Eon and made an audible "Yum." sound. Doing the best thing that anybody else would do in this situation, she first notified Eon of the trouble. "Eon, there's something in your shadow. Here, let me beat it up." she uttered, beginning to stamp her foot onto the ground where the shadow was. Maybe she's hurt it somehow and cause it to scamper away, whimpering? Or maybe she was just doing something silly. Either way, she hopes it did something to the now sentient shadow.

 

Steel merely sat there... in Ananta's shadow. He could not comprehend why she was stomping Eon's. "Do Things hide in the Shadows they control in her world?" He wondered to himself. "Cause that sounds like suicide to me." He popped another cookie into the mouth of Cat's shadow as he looked up at the throne. "Emperor Kuzco" Etrius shadow said silently.

 

Eon heard a creepy voice and eat a cookie around the exact same time he did. Heck it was by his own shadow. Eon began to shake. The kid had a fear, a fear of ghosts and he figured this thing was haunting him. He looked into the box to notice all the cookies were gone. Then another crunch came out when it was the mysterious thing who took the last one. Eon jolted up terrified. He couldn't move an inch from fear. His moth remained closed as well.
