Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

During Kel's little exploration he heard a couple of voices. At first he figured that they were just others who had ended up in this world, but that through him off was the fact the one of the voices introduced himself as Lee. As far as he could tell he didn't know a Lee, though that fact that the other voice was speaking mention Karina's name confused him more. Still, the voices didn't end there. Aside from another assortment, there was one that really stuck out to him. Interesting. Indeed his interest was peaked as he headed towards the source of the shadow.

 

Cat noticed the unnatural "Yum" behind her, and turned to see what it was all about. Ananta claimed that it was something in Eon's shadow, but when she tried stepping all over it Cat looked down and saw the shadowy hand stuffing a cookie into the mouth of her own shadow. It was very odd, and it did make her extremely uncomfortable, but they were here for a reason. She turned back to the throne room and tried reassuring them as best as she could. "We can deal with that later. Right now, we've gotta see the emperor..."

 

So it seemed that the girls didn't like their outfits, they were just doing what they had to for the sake of the mission. Part of him bought that explanation, the other part was still snickering inside. Upon hearing the voice, and seeing the large shadow of a dragon, Glen decided to take action. He leaped out in front of the party and summoned his keyblade. "Get back, i'll take care of it!" he exclaimed. Spinning around his keyblade slightly as he raced towards the shadow, he prepared to swing out with an attack that would with any luck fell the 'mighty beast'.

 

Ananta stopped her stomping. "Well, we do...but...wait..." she said, looking around them. She checked all over the room and even went back outside and looked over the hills. She then walked back to everyone. "I have a feeling I know that this shadow is familiar. Somebody we know..." she questioned. It finally clicked in her head. "Oh, maybe it's Steel? We haven't seen him since we landed, right?" she thought out loud. Walking over to Eon, Ananta patted his shoulder. "You alright there, bud?" she asked him, with concern in her voice. Seems the poor kid is all shook up about the shadow thing. Maybe. "If it's about the shadow, you got people way older than you here who can scare it away. I know for sure we can take it on. Right, Steel?" she jokingly asked.

 

Raisor continued to stand with the rest of the group when he heard a voice coming from over near the rocks. He looked over and noticed a large shadow of a dragon talking to another person. Before he could say anything, Flora and Glen jumped towards the shadow, while Karina and Kel just stood aside, watching the two be, as Raisor figure at the time, complete oafs. He could tell that it wasn't anything worth worrying about, because for one, it was just a shadow, and while heartless are made from darkness, they also have a form, compared to some shadow against a rock, which really couldn't hurt much.
Raisor leaned against another rock and broke a slight grin. He was amused that two of them were scared by this thing when it was obviously not anything worth worrying about. But he figured it'd be best to just let them go as they were and enjoy the moment. He just wished he had a snack and a camera to make the moment last forever.

 

Such oddities abound that can confound the young mind, particulary in a slow descent when one begins to wonder about such subjects as Latitude and Longitude. Base slowly, ever so slowly, fell down the rabbit hole without a clue as to how or when he would ever come out again. Allegories aside, he was very literally falling down the curious, color-shifting rabbit hole with all manners of furniture falling in slow motion around him. It was only when he stopped descending that he discovered he was upside down, or that the room was upside down and he was right side up, and hanging by a bar in the wall. He corrected himself, or uncorrected himself if the room was topsy-turvy and not himself, and stood to his feet, surveying the area around him. In the matter of giving himself advice, Base was well-accomplished, but he seldom listened to it. It was not long, however, before he found Krowley and Luna both. "Curiousest indeed." He replied to Krowley's Curiouser remark. "Oddly though, I feel very...strangely at home here. It feels so... formulated. Proper but mad; structure but crumbling; sane and insane. It's a juxsaposition of paradoxes as much as me." He noticed Luna. "Sebastian Noble. Please, call me Base. Call me Freddy, Gaston, Pablo, Albert, Charles, or Lewis for that matter; it feels like anything goes in this atmosphere.

 

Eon was confused, he was frightened, his muscles tightened. "Ghosts aren't real, ghosts aren't real, ghosts aren't real." He whispered to himself. The other seemed to be slightly spooked at it but then eventually lead to ignoring it. Eon couldn't comprehend why they weren't as terrified as him. It was then that Ananta grabbed his shoulder. Right as she did so Eon jumped higher than his High Jump ability aloud. He fell onto his bottom with a slight wince of pain. He got up rubbing the pain and began to speak to her. "S-sorry. L-l-lets just go." He then walked over to the throne to await Krowley posting as Kuzco.

 

Following behind the group, she stepped into the throne room. Looking up, she saw a young man. He seemed barely older than seventeen and he already was the emperor. Ananta stepped forward towards Cat and crossed her arms. "Any luck yet?" she asked her with a whisper. Didn't want to frighten the emperor and possibly get thrown in jail, right? Taking a good look around at this room, it was even more gaudy than the rest. Especially his throne. It had steps that seemed too steep for any other person to climb. 'So how the heck did he get up there?' She wondered to herself, just as confused as her author when she watched the movie. 'Maybe he used high jump the get up there? Who knows, what we do know is that he's a bad dude.' She nodded to herself.

 

Cat heard Eon and Ananta walk up beside her. "None yet," she whispered back. She put her hands in her pockets and looked up at the throne. It was pretty high, so she figured it was just that this emperor hadn't looked down. Like everything else in this palace, it was gaudy and expensive, and she honestly had a hard time looking at it. Still, once he saw them, she'd have her chance to set him straight.

 

Etrius appeared out of nowhere, sticking to the group. "Oh, hey Steel. I was wondering when you'd show up. I did sense something familiar a while back." Etrius said, "Now what we have here, is a stuck up snob of an emperor. He has hundred of people as his staff, and when I asked around, this guy's "groove" is none other than his daily routine, and how he runs the place. But I doubt he's sharp."

 

Base gawked at the obtuse doorknob. Cramped, crouched over and far too close for comfort to the warmth of a girl and the contrasting cold of Krowley's suit, he stared at the talking doorknob with a blank expression. He had shaved his face while resting on the Land of Departure, which was unfortunate as this would be the time when stroking his jaw would seem necessary if not compulsory; unless of course the two words meant close to or the same thing. ("You're simply too big" is what the rather poignant portal had said.)

"Was that a fat joke?" Base said with a monochromatic tone that fell upon the fact none of the three in that tiny room were evenly close to chubby; particularly Base who was quite gaunt.

 

Glen threw up his arms in disappointment, not only had he been tricked into believing that a giant dragon was there only to reveal a tiny lizard thing, but there was yet ANOTHER cross dresser. "Now I get what world this is, this is the Land of Cross Dressers!" he exclaimed in frustration. He then pointed at Mushu. "Wait, that THING isn't even wearing clothes, I guess this isn't the Land of Cross Dressers then" Glen corrected. He turned around and kicked a rock in frustration. First it was talking rats, then it was giant cats, now a talking lizard? What was next? Was he going to get swooped by a giant carrier pigeon?

 

"Glen, I'm sorry, but I should think someone would assume I'm kidding. Raisor knew, as did Karina." Flora said, putting a hand on his shoulder. Flora looked at the girl. "Its alright," she removed her helmet, letting her hair fall, "I'm a girl too, no need to worry about us." Before she could continue, Karina spoke. Flora WANTED to tell her that the girl was likely doing something with the military, but A) Karina would hate that, and B) Flora could be wrong. She turned to the dragon. "And what's your name, little guy? Mushu, was it?"

 

It was not long after this question Base turned. This action served perhaps no greater purpose than that he realized a table, there behind them in the room, and siting there, unassuming, was a tiny bottle. A small little glass glass bottle that Base examined by picking it up and rolling it through his fingers. Why, it was no bigger than his hand! Stoppered, the bottle had a small tag hanging from its tiny little neck. Scrawled in fancy type, as paradoxes abound, were the words "DRINK ME". It occurred to Base this formerly unassuming bottle had become a rather presumptuous bottle indeed to take the pretense he or any of his compatriots would drink even a drop of a liquid they had no clue about. He looked to the others, then back to the bottle.

"I suppose since I found it first, I might as well play Guinea Pig. Just think, Krowley... Luna... this bottle could be the very answer to our current situation. If I were small enough to fit through that door, then I could see what's on the other side. Contrary however, if this bottle were to do the very opposite and that I should grow, well, then that would very counter-productive as if the bottle were to do nothing or something very bad; I wouldn't like to be poisoned, but at the same time, I don't believe I'd enjoy being stuck somewhere either." He let his hand fall to his side and he closed his eyes in pained thought. "I do wish I felt so not affected by this place... I feel like everything about this place is clouding who I am and I'm becoming someone entirely different. Is that possible? To be the same person in one instant and be another in another instant?" He asked to the others just the instant before he took a swig of the bottle in his hand. It popped with a start, and it tasted of sweet tart... no lemonade... grape soda... the taste seemed quite an interchangable and unplacable mystery. Maybe it was just as mysterious as what occurred to him after as he put the bottle back on the table. Before anything else occured, however, Base took a bite of on of the provided cookiees that said "EAT ME" in frosting on its tiny tart face.


"This is a rather fresh pastry, and I mean it's rude," He bit into it and chewed for good taste and measure, "But I suppose it's freshly baked nonetheless too."

In an instant afterwards, Base soon found himself standing on a very different surface and at a much different height. There, on the table where he had found the bottle, he had shrunk to be no more than an apple high from head to toe.

OOC: You don't know how hard it was to not type: Base grabbed the Key resting on the table before shrinking, as he was a very well-read lad. I've seen this movie and I've read this book before.

 

Ananta stood there, listening to the emperor. He seemed very dissatisfied with who appeared. Though, he did mention he was going to build over a person's house that they had had in their family for generations. That was not cool, she was about to give him a stern talk to when he began to describe each of them. She knew who the others were, but once he looked at her and contorted his face into a smirk, she went ballistic. Kneeling to the ground, she held her crystal and stayed there for at least four minutes. Standing back up, she sighed deeply. Stepping forward, she bowed to him as eloquently as she could.

"Your highness, emperor Kuzco? We were invited here to examine daily life at the palace. You see, we were all hoping to become your loyal staff. However, we wanted to get a good look at how you ran things." she said, gritting her teeth at the last sentence. "And might I say, your groove is very interesting. Would you please go into more detail about it?" she turned her head up and smiled at him. Behind her back, she made a motion for the others to follow along as best as they could. Hopefully, they got the gesture.

 

Cat listened to this "emperor Kuzco" insult them in order, earning himself yet another spot on her list of reasons to teach him a hard lesson. He told them to go ahead so he could get on with his day, but before she could take a step forward to give him a piece of her mind, Ananta started to speak. She understood why she'd start kissing up, but it still bugged her to no end. When Ananta asked to hear more about his groove, she sighed quietly and took a step forward before bowing slightly. "If you'll have us, your highness, we won't disappoint you." She kept her head down, partially to feign some sort of respect, but mostly to hide the scowl that felt glued to her face.

 

Glen leaned forward and placed his hands next to Mushu. Placing his left hand at the bottom of Mushu, and the right hand at Mushu's head until the gap was the same size as Mushu, he chuckled quietly. "For something so powerful, you sure are a little critter aren't you" he stated jokingly. He had to admit, despite the fact that Mushu was quite small, he sure had an interesting personality. He stepped back to stand in line with the others. "Alright 'Ping', I'll help. Like the tiny lizard said there, nothing better to do right?" he asked, once again in a joking tone.
