Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

"Base, Rockin' the stash." The white haired man complimented. Once they reached the crossroads, the most confusing thing Beuce had ever encountered appeared. A cat. A stripey cat. Beuce stared at the cat whos fur looked like it would make some nice pajamas. Talking in riddles. He hated that. Riddles make you think, which was something Beuce didn't do often. <---Understatement. Beuce nearly never thought. A slight sniffle came from Beuce, before a sneeze. "Ah crap..."Beuce said, remembering his allergy to cats. "Hey Krowley, you don't happen to have any super special awesome magical futeristic allergy pill do you?" He asked as though it were a totally normal question. I suppose when it came from Beuce, may as well have been normal.

'If it doesn't matter which way we go, why are there signs? I mean not like they're helpful or anything. Who the hell put those there anyway? Hey, there's an echo in here. Whee, echoooo!' Beuce said, playing in his thoughts. It seemed the riddles did get him thinking, but not about anything useful. After he was finished amusing himself, the man turned to alice. "Alright well you're the star of the show. Well co-star, the main one obviously being me. But anyways, pick a direction and lets move."

 

Listening to the strange cat, Luna looked upon the two paths. Both sets of pawprints made her a little uneasy. "Should we split to check both or go on one path?" Luna turned toward Krowley and asked him. Both pathways seem unsettingly interesting but by the tone of that cat. One way is the pathway that might lead us to that rabbit and the other doesn't. But which path is which!? Luna pondered about the two paths for a moment as she waited for Krowley's decision.

 

Glen continued walking. So far, nothing had seemed out of the ordinary. Snow, mountains, more snow, and oh look..snow. It reminded him of snow cones, and he immediately began feeling hungry. His stomach growled a little bit. "Oh man, where can we get something to eat around this place?" he complained. He was sick of the silence, he got bored easily so talking was one way to pass the time as they walked. "Do ANY of you have food?" he asked. He stopped for a moment as he looked at Ping. "You know, i've never tried lizard..." he began, thinking aloud.

 

Base chortled in his throat as her removed his mustache nonchalantly. "Oh Chesire puss. Quite a mad one aren't you? Well, you see: I live in music; I'm hanging by a thread as far as any ordinary sanity is concerned." Base followed the path of freshly made Chesire Cat prints as they separated in ways that would be physically impossible. "We want to find a White Rabbit, but I suppose you won't be of much use in telling us where to find him; so, it seems only logical to ask you where we can't find him, as this will either tell us exactly where he is, or tell us exactly where he is not, depending on whether or not anything you say can be given value of any sort." He waxed eloquent as he swung onto a low-hanging tree branch of a very wonky, purple tree with pink branches. "You see, I keep to myself quite a bit, but you all may have noticed that I'm not all quite there myself, but I am held together by something that grows curiouser and curiouser, most curiousest indeed, as time goes on. "I'm as mad as a hatter when I listen to any particular piece that I find enduring enough to really provoke the mind, and it sets my heart into motion that is more erratic than any hare in the month of March could dare to immitate. Music is my madness, dear Chesire puss, and I'd like to know if you'd join me in a song, if you can be of no other use." He reclined on his back and balanced himself out of the branch, resting his head in his hands.

"Twas Brillig, and the Slithy Toves did gire and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were Borogroves, and the Momeraths outgrabe..." He sang complete nonsense that seemed to feel right. I was as though something about the location was settling in him a musical sensitivity to the workings of the world that dealt in song and notes. He'd noticed a similar feeling on his home world of Theate, and had felt a very different embodiment of the same notion in everywhere else he'd been. On the other hand, nowhere had been quite as strange, overpowering, and odd as...here... wherever here was. He'd listened to Alice as well, and, like Krowley, suspected there was a reality Alice was used to, and this was not it.

"Beuce, Luna, Krowley, Alice..." His tone went dark and took on a fierce, Scottish brogue. "Beware the Jobberwock..." All utter and complete nonsense. He had nothing to go on with this warning, but it was what he felt in the crisp wooden air that surrounded him and permeated his very being. "Eyes that snare and teeth that snatch... beware the Jub Jub bird, and the frumious Bandersnatch." He hummed more of the melody his had sung before, but in his regular register. "You know how I know you were a Chesire cat? I've seen them quite often where I come from, but never before had I seen one smile as broadly... in fact... not really at all. A singular feline you are, my paradoxical friend." He said this to the empty air, as he assumed the cat still lingered somewhere.

 

Cat, realizing that she'd let her mind drift off into homesick "what ifs" and "maybes," heard Ananta try and persuade llama boy into finding some shelter in the village. She was all for the idea, all things considered, but she just knew that Kuzco would continue to focus on what was better for him. Why even bother, she thought, not daring to say anything more aloud. He's just a cocky little brat who'd let us all die before thinking of the greater good. She turned away but still kept her eyes on him, the contempt ever-present in her pupils. The darkness had already set in, and there was no way that they'd manage to see, let alone journey at this hour.

 

Eon sighed. Kuzco was just as mean and royal as ever, no matter the new shape and form. Eon figured maybe some help would be in order. He walked toward the Llama King and helped him up. "Well, you are up, but we are looking for something. Could you help us find it if we get you back to the palace? Its called a keyhole. Someone as great and majestic as yourself surely knows where something like that is." He said with an innocent tone. Playing idiot would have to work. Maybe the emperor would take the bait and actually assist them as they assisted he himself. It was worth a shot after all.

 

Steel observed the post above. "Those three? What on earth..." Also: Etrius seemed to miss that he had been mocking Kuzco. "I miss too much..." He sighed. "Oh well, back to the rp." He turned his direction to Kuzco. "Oh, You know where it is do you?" He said with a smile. "Well then I suppose we have no choice but to follow you, your glorious highness king of the world emperor Kuzco!" He handed a small white orb to Ananta. "Here, this heals injuries outside of battle as a small excuse to how we all get fully healed between missions without resting. It's power is on par with that of an elixer so using it in battles would be cheating, but... here it's fair... I think... GM will say so if not." He turned his attention back to Kuzco. Lead the way oh directionally inclined Imperial Majesty."

 

Ananta blinked, taking the white orb thing as it disappeared in her hand. Somehow her wound got healed. She listening to the emperor and stood up, stretching a bit. "Well, guess we better take you back to the palace and try to find a human potion thingy for you, right? Some lab, or whatever, that you mentioned?" she chuckled. "Well, we'll make sure you're safe, since we did beat up fifty of your dudes earlier, we're the strongest thing you got for protection as of now." Scoffing, she dusted herself off, proud of herself and also because she had dust on her from leaning down at the emperllama.

 

Etrius frowned at the notions made by the others. "Try not to get too into the job. Kuzco still has his enemies," He replied, shuffling his Tarot deck. He took a top card, showing the Empress. "We may be strong and fast, but we can be beaten by wits alone. We have to try and stay sharp."
He shot a cold glare at the emperor, then towards the rest of the guys.
"Well? Let's get going! The faster we get to the lab, the less trouble we have to deal with."

 

Flora gave a quiet "eep!" When Karina had answered.

"Sorry... I just wanted to tell you you're shoe was untied... I didn't want you to trip."

Glen then commented on eating Mushu. "Not Funny." She said in unison with Karina. She ten turned around and started helping everyone unload the cargo. How lazy of her teammates to sit around not helping. "You've got this Ping, we'll prove you're a great soldier yet! I know you got it in you bro!" She gave him a sharp pat on the back.

 

Cat was a bit confused as to what a Keyhole was, but she assumed it must be important for their mission. Steel was kissing up, Ananta was being nice and Etrius brought down any optimism they might've otherwise had, but she figured they didn't have any other choice now. "Let's just get something straight: I am not your servant, and I will never serve you in any way. I'm doing this for my friends, not some whiny, 'would-be' king." This bugged her to no end, and the fact that he was trying to manipulate them like this was ridiculous -- I mean, from his tone of voice, he was obviously lying to them. They were just a means to his end, and if they ran into trouble, she wouldn't fight for him. After all, she was still feeling a bit fatigued from their last scuffle. She walked back towards the palace with a scowl on her face and stuffed her hands into her jacket pockets to keep from strangling a certain llama with them otherwise.

 

Eon sighed in relief. The emperor was actually going to assist them in the search. Maybe he wasn't as bad as Eon first thought. Or perhaps with this transformation, his heart went through a few changes as well. No matter the case, they found a middle ground to work with. He saw Cat start acting against him. Eon tugged on her clothes to gain her attention. "Don't be too mean to him. He just needs a friend. We can be his friends." He said with a bright smile. He looked forward hoping the path ahead would be easy.

 

Etrius looked at Eon like he was mad. It lasted 3 seconds before Etrius burst out laughing. But it wasn't polite. It sounded higher, crueler, and strangely enough, distorted.
"Are you kidding me??!" Etrius sneered, "This guy is the definition of 'spoiled over'! Steel is more aloof and apathetic than this guy, and I get along better with him!" He turned to Steel. "No offense." He turned back. "I don't need this guy to be my friend." Etrius said, cold now. "This guys is nothing compared to.."
He froze. Then he closed his eyes and sighed.
"Can we please just get going? I already have enough to deal with. I don't need this guy pissing me off."

 

Steel facepalmed as now Also Seemed to be missing the point. "I'M BEING A SARCASTIC ****( an actual beep came out of his mouth) PEOPLE! HOW CAN YOU NOT NOTICE?" He calmed down. To Etrius' "No offense" He replied with a simple "None taken." And decided it would be better if he just took the lead, as everyone was pretty much just talking. He started walking in the general direction of the palace.

 

The banter between the older boys compared to Eon's small, soft spoken words was a bit of a shock to Ananta. "You two, since you're older, need to be setting an example for Eon, not acting like children in a time like this!" she snarled. Stomping towards Eon, she grabbed his hand and began to pull him towards where the emperor was going. The palace, if you need a more general direction. "C'mon, Eon, I don't think you need their influence." she had a slight annoyed tone. She was doing her best to not get too close to Steel, but also not to be too close to Etrius. More of a middle point, to keep away from the two. "They're both being huge idiots right now anyway..." she trailed off.

 

Steel merely sighed as he stalked behind the llama known as emperor Kuzco. The Reality Theory was indeed correct: Everything he said seemed to be translated into something that was the OPPOSITE of his meaning. Humor became rudeness, and rudeness was funny. Words were worthless if Ananta thought he had been fighting with anyone. So he merely kept walking with the intent to kill anything that stood in their path.... Unless he was hungry... Then he would eat anything in their path... Including the trees... he was an omnivore after all.

 

Etrius was taken aback from Anata's scolding, but recovered quickly. His eyes began to turn red, on of them twitching. He suddenly stopped, and just gave up. This arguing was getting nowhere. If anything, it was making Etrius' own darkness a lot worse. The last thing he needed was turning on the others.
"I'm going up ahead to clear the path, make sure there's no trouble." He grunted. "Steel, you can come with me if you'd like. This 'divide-and-conquer' situation is getting to my f-ing head." He walked off, eyes half-closed
