Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

As Kross gave his response, Clay's smile grew. They had chosen completely opposite paths, yet, somehow, they were the same. All that they wanted to do was to be able to help people. They just had different strengths and ways of helping. "I say," Clay began, "That was a good choice. Who needs strength when you have magic?" His smile had grown, Clay found himself almost laughing. He knew, that even though Kross may not have valued strength of body, his heart and mind were strong.

After remembering that dream, his 'dive', and speaking with Kross, he was beginning to understand. Maybe, he thought, strength of heart is the first step in wielding a keyblade. Although he still wasn't sure exactly what a keyblade was, or what it meant to have one, he was almost certain he was right. After Clay had eaten his full and asked a few more questions, he began to wonder about the others that Kross had spoken of. "So, where exactly are the other keyblade weilders?" he asked. "I'd really like to meet them!"

 

As Beuce saw the quick attack of the cards he found three particular cards dashing towards him. the Ace of dimonds, 11 of clubs, and the 12 of spades. He quickly summoned his keyblade and readied his water preparing for the duel that lied ahead. "I didnt know we were in Las Vegas or i would have brought more munny" Smirking, he then leaped at the 11 of clubs first with his keybladed in front. As he neared the 11 of clubs, he fired off aqua splash right in the dead center of the card coming at him. As the aqua splash hit the card it begins to create a rather large hole. Beuce then tucks his head going right through the cards freshly made hole. " Hah! Now thats what i call a royal flush " laughing at his rather corny pun he turns around bringing forther fire into his hand looking at the Ace of diamonds. With a quick toss of the weapon in his hand, it was split into two halves. Skillfully catching it, Beuce turned to the last card soldier which had approached him. A simply combo or two was enough to dispatch it.

 

As Eon pulled the lever, Etrius let out a hearty laugh, saying to Eon, "Smooth move, Ex Lax. You couldn't even carry cautiousness even if it had a handle with." He jumped down toward the pit as well, breakrolling as he landed, not gaining a single scratch.
"You ok, Ananta? That was...a bit painful..." He was trying very, very hard not laugh his butt off. Obviously, it was painful. But Etrius suddenly got a horrible, not to mention a vulgar thought. He turned red, ceasing to laugh. Frantically, he took out his Tarot cards to get it out of his head. As he scrolled through the cards, his hand fell to the Empress card. He looked back Ananta, who was receiving a heal spell from Eon. He was instantly reminded of Aileen, Etrius' guardian and friend.
He thought back at the times that she was with him, having good times.
He realized that his bright red shade lighten to a pinkish one. He shook his head, hoping no one saw his random reaction change.

 

Kross was glad that the two had much in common, they just wanted to help others, to help their friends and allies, even if they had different methods and ways. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly at the compliment."ha, thanks, but Warrior is a good choice too. You must be quite strong."He complimented back. He scratched the side of his nose, OH!"Maybe we can do a friendly spar, on my island, we used to hold tournaments with physical sparring known as Struggling, perhaps we can do something similar? After you eat I mean."He said. Maybe a little sparring could gauge his skills and at the same time have fun.


His question made him think, all of the others were on various missions, and access to the worlds were tightly restricted when the party was full."Hmm, I'm not too sure, they're in various worlds, I was just coming back from a mission myself, The worlds are vast, but somehow Master Eraqus can track all of us at once. I believe he uses some sort of Crystal in the throne room We can check that out in a little bit, I'm glad you got something to eat, you looked like you were going to starve to death. How did you get here?"

 

Clay smiled at Kross' compliment. He offered to spar with him in something called 'struggling'. "I'd love to spar!" Clay returned, "We don't get many good fights at home." he continued jokingly. He was looking forward to seeing just how competent he was with his keyblade, and also to seeing another wielder fight. "Maybe we can head outside now. I've eaten my fill, and I'm ready as ever!"

As Clay was cleaning up, Kross explained how the other wielders were on missions in other worlds, and that we might be able to use some crystal that belonged to Master Eraqus, who was apparently the master of this castle, as he had explained earlier, to see them. "No thanks, I think I'd rather just wait and meet them in person." Clay said with a smile. Kross then asked how he got here. "I don't really know," Clay responded, "there were instructions in my letter from Master Yen Sid, and I just followed them. From what I gathered in this conversation though, I guess what he was telling me to do was to use the Lanes Between and my keyblade glider. I just kind of did it, not exactly sure how. Maybe that is something I will be able to learn while I am here." Clay finished the drink from his glass, and walked back towards Kross, eager to learn from the man, and excited to spar!

 

Cat followed the group up to the palace, eager to find Yzma's lab and get out as soon as possible. When they came across the levers and Eon pulled it, Ananta ended up doing a split that would easily have anyone in tears. She winced, almost as if she'd done it herself. Once the door was closed and she cried out in pain, Cat made sure that no one was above the door. "I think we should see where it leads before we just jump in. There are bound to be bogeys in case of intruders." She figured Yzma was pretty cautious given the setup of this place, and there was no telling where that door even led.

 

Hopping up from the embarrassment, she gritted her teeth and straightened herself. Doing a couple of squats, she bent back a bit and cracked her back before rushing towards the other lever. Jerking it a few times, she noticed that it was stuck. Trying to pull it again, she noticed that it wasn't budging a single inch. Not even a centimeter! "Guys, I think this is gonna take all of us. Come help, would ya?" she called over to everyone. "You too Steel, if you're even paying attention." she yelled louder. With all their strength, they may just get this thing open.

 

Eon noticed Etrius blushing at the sight of Ananta doing a painful split. He didn't know why, but this really ticked him off. He took a few steps forward towards Etrius and punched him in the face. "That isn't funny. This entire situation is not funny. If you don't act serious about this then there is no point in you being with us. I will not see you as a comrade. I will see you as extra baggage that may or may not be dumped off." He stormed away from him to rejoin Ananta.

"Ana, I think we only need two people to pull the lever. Having us all do it may be pushing it a bit." He question putting his hand on the lever alongside Ananta. With some force, the both of them managed to pull it down to reveal a trapdoor, this one being a lot bigger but having a seat at the bottom. When they fell Eon looked up and began to yell at them. "Its okay guys, this way is safe. Go in pairs of two and don't forget Kusco."

The ride began and through many twists and turns later, Eon and Ananta arrived. They didn't come empty handed though. Eon wore an overly large lab coat and goggles. This coat must have belong to Krunk or one of the guards. That's the only way this would fit anyone. As for the goggles. Eon liked them. He decided to keep them after throwing the coat off. "Lets wait for the others to arrive.

 

Kross was excited too, traditionally to gauge a person's skills, there would be a friendly spar. He couldn't wait to be able to spar with Clay, he had a feeling the man would be a great challenge, like Karina. Kross nodded, he did want to introduce his new friend to his fellow wielders but it would have to wait. He listened to Clay as the man explained his situation, a keyblade glider was how he got here, though it was something automatic, something he couldn't control. Kross could control his glider so maybe he could teach Clay to control his. He grinned and scratched his chin."I'd be more than happy to give you some pointers while we spar."He offered.

He stood as Clay returned to him and smiled."We spar in the throne room, it's got a lot of space and less likely to damage anything."He said, turning and leading. The throne room was huge, with three thrones at the end of the spacious room and the ceiling reaching quite high into the air. Once he crossed a few yards in, he turned towards clay and held his hand out, palm spread and his keyblade flashed in a flash of light. He brandished it behind him and held an arm out, palm out and fingers together, grinning at him."Let's do this"

 

Glen didn't want to get in the way of the warriors as they fought, especially when the three arrived with an explosive of sorts. His surprise was evident on his face when Ping seemed to take charge and take the explosive away from the others and use it to create an avalanche. He couldn't help but be impressed with the plan, it was a nice one. At least, that's what he thought until he saw the snow headed towards them. "Thanks for nothing" he muttered underneath his breath towards Ping.

He began sprinting as fast as his legs would carry him, running away from the avalanche with great speed. Where was a safe spot to hide? There wasn't any- there. He pointed at the rock ahead of him. "Cover!" he yelled out, unsure if anyone had actually heard him. He hurried over and hid behind the rock to avoid the snow, relieved to see that the other members of the party had also made it. He hunched over, trying to catch his breath, as he shot a quick look at Ping. "Nice idea, but next time you should probably warn us" he said in between breaths.

 

Caught in the midst of the fray, Base readied himself for the battle. So many cards... so many numbers... so many puns! "Hey, Beuce! Ready to cut the deck?" He started off the pun fest with delight in the chance to fight. He was getting used to fights; especially when the foes were not creatures of terrible, monstrous darkness. These cards were a laughable distraction from Heartless Hunting, to be frank, and he revelled in the opportunity to not have to slay something. Five by five, he knocked out the red fives together in one fell swoop. In another strike, he brought the unlucky Thirteen of Diamonds to a forced rest as he dodged back to the hedges to do a recount. So far, he'd knocked out those three, but what of the others? There were still Forty-Six cards left after all! Divided between each of his comrades as well as himself, that was Eleven to each; with Two left over. "Let's see how this hand turns out." He shouted to the others, but drew attention to the sidelines where a trio of Deuces (Of Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds), started to charge at him with spears for the reds and axes for the blacks.

"What the Deuce?!" Base punned once again, drawing back and guarding himself against the nearest rose bush. As soon as his palm touch a lofty petal, he took it back when it felt soaked with some thick fluid. Caught red handed, Base realized his hand had been coated in red paint, which was taken from the flowers of the rose bush. "Who's been painting the roses red!" He cried out in surprise. Not even a full second later, the Two of Clubs dashed into a hedge inexplicably, along with the Ace and Three of the same Suit. "Going to have to deal with them later, I suppose." Base steadied himself as the two remaining cards came charging to him; the Pair of Deuces that seemed to want his head removed from his shoulders. "Why is it that you must do this? Why, she doesn't seem to respect you fellows at all." He said just before the Two of Diamonds lunged at his middle with a Heart-tipped Spear. Base deflected the attack with a circular motion of his Keyblade and disarmed the assailant. "No. Really, Gents." He stated calmly as he repeated the same deflection and disarm on the Two of Hearts. "You two should really pair up to make a... union... or something. Don't you think?"

OOC: Remember in KH how "killing" a card meant they were knocked out for a short time? Well, we're just knocking these guys out to stick with the KH Canon, right?

The white haired man chuckled. He wasn't the only one making puns. "You know something Base? I'm starting to like you." He said as he deflected one of the blows from a card soldier. The weapon was knocked to his right and its user along with it. A quick step forward and a spinning kick sent the paper warrior stumbling into a few others. They weren't down for the count quite yet though. "You could never defeat us. You don't believe in the heart of the cards!" He shouted at the queen directing their opponents. At that moment, one could swear he was possessed by the spirit of an ancient egyptian pharaoh. However this wasn't the case. He was just a good actor. The cards he had sent stumbling seemed to have gotten back up by now and came swinging. A duck to avoid the blow and a quick jab with the handle of his weapon took down the seven of hearts. Standing up straight, he stared down the remaining two cards closing in on him.

Right now, he was trying to build up some MP. He wanted to try out his newly obtained summon and see what it did. In order to do that, he needed to avoid using magic for the moment. Going into a high guard stance, he closed the distance between him and the 4 of clubs. A low sweep of his leg threw it off its feet while a few strikes of the keyblade finished the job. That card was down. Last but not least, the 4 of diamonds. With a jump and a combo, he was now on the other side of it. The cards stayed strong and swung its heart-tipped weapon horizontally, but it met Beuce's wooden keyblade rather than the wielder himself. "I don't need Karina's strength to take out some wet paper like you." With a push, the weapon was thrown out of the Card's hands. A blow to the head and he was unconsious. That was it. He now had two MP. "Alright, hope no one is allergic to cats." He crouched down and an orb of light appeared on his blade's tip. Fading in from nowhere, the cheshire cat came to aid them...Or at least Beuce hoped that's how it would happen.

Luna ran toward the cards in anger as she watched the Queen of Hearts' previous actions toward the card soldiers and Alice. A fiery look ran across her eyes as her speed increased. "Once I'm through with you guys, I'm giving the Queen a piece of MY mind!" Luna's keyblade glinted sharply as she cut through the Ace of Hearts and the Ace of Spades. The anger in her attack shined for a small second. She jumped back waiting for her next opponent. "Alright! Who's next!?!?"

 

Cat heard Eon yell from the pit beneath them, and sighed softly. "I guess that settles it then." Sure she wasn't happy about it, but they were bound to confront Yzma one way or another, so they might as well do it together. She walked up to the lever and put both of her hands on it. "So who's coming with me?"

 

Base ran to the hedge where the Two, Three and Ace of Clubs had ducked into a hedge together when he had shouted his inquiry about the painted roses. “Hey, you three. Out of there!”

“Please don’t hurt us!” Burst forth a squeaky, frightened voice from the greenery.

“We planted White roses by mistake!”

“It was the Ace’s fault.”

“It was not, Three!”

“Shush! Both of you.” Came the first voice. “Listen, kid: We need to get out of here before the Queen finds us out. Can you say that you took us out?”

“Uh, sure. Why not?” Base took a moment to answer, but if he could help troubled denizens ruled over by a ruthless despot, then he would.

“Thanks, kid.” Three voices sang in unison, and with six black-shoed feet the hedge went gullumfing out of the fray shouting “Calooh! Callay!”

“The strange people you meet at card games.” Base shook his head at the odd turn of events, when he found his other pursuers, the Two’s of Diamonds and Hearts, had retrieved their spears and were charging for him once more. “Don’t you Two’s ever tire?” Through the fracas he dodged card after card as they repeatedly tried to pile on top of him. “Shuffle off!” He said as he made his way through over to a clear spot. Backing up, he bumped into Beuce without realizing until after making contact. “Oh! Hey, I’ll tell you what: these Two’s are wild! Oh, and I’ve just taken out the Two, Three, and Ace of Clubs. I’m apparently supposed to tell someone.”

“Thanks kid!”

“You’re welcome! Good luck wherever it is your going!” Base waved as the card-carrying hedge went out of sight. “You see, they planted white roses instead of red ones, so they painted the roses red, rather than painting them pink or green… not aquamarine either. I’m guessing in a Kingdom ruled over by a Queen of Hearts, Red must be a general theme.” It was then that it occurred to him that the Queen of Hearts obviously had a penchant for the removal of heads, so he immediately felt very cautious of the “paint” on his head. With some distance between himself and the cars, Base worriedly sniffed his red hand and was relieved that it smelled of paint. Then again, cards could have very well bled paint for all he knew, but he did not want to dwell on that thought. For now, he had to run from the herd of cards after him.

Clay entered the throne room with Kross, and brandished his keyblade. The shiny metal gleamed in the beautiful light that leaked in through the windows. "Let's do this." Kross said with a grin on his face. Clay smiled, and set into his battle stance, both hands on his blade, held horizontally above his head, legs set wider than shoulder width, and knees slightly bent. Clay could feel the adrenaline pumping through him. He was ready. He was excited! Clay dropped his keyblade down and behind him, preparing for an uppercut, and started into a charge. He was closing in on Kross, and fast. Just as clay was about to bring his keyblade up, Kross quickly raised his and brought it back down to parry. In the ensuing struggle, Clay noticed a bright light out of the corner of his eye. He stepped to the side and let Kross' keyblade slide off of his and into the ground. "Hold on," Clay said, "what's that?" Clay was pointing towards the light, and he began walking towards it.

 

As they finally reached the top of the mountain and had Shan-Yu in there sights. There was a wave of emotions that flowed through Kel which cause his arms to tremble. Though they were trembling of fear, no they were trembling with anticipation. Anticipation to finally teach this man a lesson he won't soon forget.

Unfortunately his excitement was put on hold as the other soldiers joined in with a cannon like device. Well, it that didn't work, Kel would still have his fun. Or so he thought. Since it was clear that Ping had other idea upon hijacking the cannon at firing at a mountain instead. I've heard of bad aim, but really though.

That wasn't even the worst part of it. Ping's little stunt caused an avalanche to fall down towards them. It only took a second for Kel to join the other in trying to get away from the force of nature barreling towards them. When he came near a rock big enough for him to hide behind, he wasted little time jumping behind it. "You better hope that your little stunt worked."
