Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

D'daear approached everyone to see what was going on. The talking teapot and cup snatched his attention right away. Blue Eyes widened in disbelief at the sight of the animated objects. "No way...a talking teapot...and a cup...I've seen it all..." he muttered under his breath. D'daear nodded at the teapots willingness to help. He figured it was best to get out of this mess before making introductions to the other 2.

 

When the guards came up, Etrius was surprised as Cat. How could a guy that flamboyant be thief of the royal crown? Ah well, Etrius did just meet Flynn.
"Run! I can hold them off." Cat said suddenly. Etrius gawked at her like she was mad.
"Cat," Etrius said slowly, then stopped. This was already hurting Etrius' head. It was just one shenanigan after another. He glared between Cat, the guards, and Flynn. He didn't know what to do.
"Don't worry about me. I've dealt with bigger brutes before. Just go!" Cat urged.
Etrius' eyes went battle red immediately and summoned the Oathkeeper in a flash of white and black. He rounded on Flynn.
"You heard the lady." Etrius growled. "She slipped on a banana peel and now we're going to defend you. If it is true that you stole the crown, and if we find you later, I'm gonna beat on you like a runaway slave. Now get out of here!" He then turned to the guards, and held a defensive stance

 

Glen was surprised when the guards went after Flynn. While Flynn hadn't seemed like an altogether genuine person, he certainly hadn't seemed like a thief, at least not in Glen's eyes. He snickered a little bit, now was the perfect time to cause a little trouble. "So first you steal the crown, and then you try to steal her heart" he commented, stifling a laugh. However he was forced to be a little more serious when Etrius and Cat both stopped, prepared to defend Flynn, the choice of what to do next was obvious. "Why do you guys get to do all the fighting?" he questioned, half joking as he, too, summoned his keyblade and readied for battle. "Better get running, Ryder. I don't know these two well, but from the looks on their faces I would say they mean what they say, especially mr dark and depressed over there" he added, gesturing at Etrius.

 

Cat smiled in Etruis's general direction, thankful that she wasn't alone in this, but glared at Glen. Even as the guards approached them, he figured he could crack a joke about her heart. He made a comment about not getting to do any fighting and the look she gave him could've KO'd him in an instant. "Maybe it's because we're too busy preparing to make snarky remarks. Honestly, are you five?" She saw that Flynn was still there and got a little anxious. Her Keyblade was shaking in her hands and she stood her ground despite the royal guards who kept coming closer. Still, Etrius was on their side, and she knew just what he was capable of by now. "I don't care if these guys are out for blood. They're just paid thugs. They don't have a real reason to fight!" She gripped the hilt of her weapon, motivated to beat them no matter the cost, and grinned in their direction. "Come and get it, you filthy casuals."

 

Beuce began saying something that was muffled to the point of being incoherent beneath Ananta's hand. He reached up and pulled it down just enough to get a few words out. "Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help i'm being repressed!" He yelled out before undoubtedly being re-covered/punched by Ananta. Did you see her repressing him? You saw her, didn't you? Beuce pushed Ananta's grasp off of him with his superior strength stat and spoke something that was shocking coming from Beuce. Sound logic. "Alright look. Normally i don't like to play the smart one, but you guys aren't thinking. Which if you're thinking less than me then jeez...Who looks at someone and says "Oh you're clothes are different you must be from another world'? No one unless they already know about other worlds. Which probably means he's from another one himself." He scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit uncomfortable. I mean, he just said something logical and not a reference or joke. The hell was that about?

He decided to get back into his comfort zone for a bit. He turned to Goofy, and began speaking in a thick British accent. "Listen, strange rocks lyin' in church yards distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical geographical ceremony."

"Seriously," Etrius said to both of them, "Now is not the f-ing time. I don't know what the hell is going on here, but you both better start acting different. Glen, stop being a ****** and focus. Cat, same with you. Enough with the goo-goo eyes. It's about time we show these soldiers who we really are."
As Cat turned back, saying to the soldiers, "Come and get it, you filthy casuals.", Etrius advanced forward 3 steps, spinning his Keyblade and switching to his left hand. He took a battle stance similar to Vanitas'.

 

Ananta sighed deeply and turned towards Beuce. What he said had a little bit of truth to it, but the way he was going about it was stupid enough for her to want to punch him again. Waiting or the precise moment, she gathered a bit of lightning in her fist. Not too much, just enough to paralyze a normal person. Though, Beuce isn't normal so it probably won't work. It's worth a try however. So yes, she punched him in the stomach. Fairly hard, even for a person of her demeanor. Rubbing her fist after the fact, she turned to the dogknight. Then she turned back to her group. "If he is from another world as well...then that probably means what we just said is null and void. But if he isn't, we don't want to say too much. It's not exactly the right idea to reveal other worlds unless you have to and all." she spoke rather low to her group. Just enough so the dogknight couldn't hear...hopefully.

 

Stratos had seen a lot of strange things, but this dog thing...was one of them probably. Really he thought the walking Dog(?) who talked with some sort of accent that made him sound somewhat goofy who had asked if they were from a different world from this one. Well clearly they were, if this sword was like, a well known facet of this world and everyone knew about it. Except maybe the peasants who believed they were in some sort of anachro-syndicalist commune, but who were they fooling? This was clearly a tyranny that this world was ruled by.

As Ananta inadvertently told her name to Stratos, by way of telling the dog thing her name, and swiftly stopped Beuce from speaking. Well that was rather rude of her, the other team mate hadn't seem to have done anything wrong...or at least not yet. Anyway, as Ana provided a cover story for their clothes being different, Kel posed a question about the sword and Ana and Beuce seemed to be having some sort of question. Stratos kind of peering into the conversation to listen to what it was about, interjected by saying "well, we'll never know if we don't ask, isn't that correct." Walking away from the two he walked over to the Dog (seriously, was this even a dog?) and decided to introduce himself. "Hey there, the name's Stratos and I have a counter question to pose. If you know about other worlds, since that doesn't seem like the most common of knowledge, would that mean that you are from one yourself?"

 

Cat was a bit peeved that Flynn would call them his 'accomplices,' but at this point they were essentially his allies. She saw the head of the guard go after him on a horse, but knew that the others were their priority right now. She jumped over three of them and swung at the one to her left, using the momentum of her first hit to perform a combo. She was stronger than she'd been in Kingdom of the Sun, so the combo was much longer. The other two charged at her as soon as they heard her so she used the Keyblade to block their attacks and swung at both of them at once. Another string of hits took them out as well. "Come on, is that all you clowns have got?"

 

Etrius' jaw dropped and he turned to see Flynn run away after he said his comment.
"Excuse me???" Etrius said. He felt his jaw get forced nearly out of it's sockets as he skidded across the ground, socked by a guard. Etrius quickly stood, spun his blade again, readying an attack. Unlike Cat, whom jumped over some of the guards, Etrius, as hard-headed as he was, charged straight through with a quick Sliding Dash, dispatching 2 guards from duty and injuring the 3rd. He slid to a stop next to Cat before saying, "Sorry Cat, but your boy is asking for it; I'm going to kill him next time i see him.."
He then took off back into the fray, attacking quickly

 

The dark damp dungeon had a grim mood about it, he’ll admit that much. So when the chinaware offered to help them in finding a way out, it was welcomed. Krowely had introduced himself as well as the other members of this keyblade crew; Mrs. Potts and Chip having introduced themselves right after. “So this is the famous Krowley Base had been talking about…” he thought. Even though Krowley got his name wrong, he thought it to be nice to have been considered. “D’daear. It’s D’daear, not Dale.” He pointlessly corrected as he briefly looked at Chip. Krowley had begun to ask Mrs. Pott a few questions, which D’daear thought to have been important. “Where IS the Master of this castle?” He thought to himself as he overheard the two engage in conversation. A loud roar reverberated throughout the dungeon walls. It took him by surprised as he jumped at the sudden scare."What was that?!" he exclaimed. Krowley began to signal that it was for the best if we investigated.


“Wait, what? But, but…” he began, before watching Krowley run off towards the dungeon exit. He sighed, admitting to himself that it was for the best to go investigate. The Master of this castle COULD be in danger. He looked back at the others with a stale face before following suit to where Krowley had gone; figuring everyone else aside from the objects would follow.

 

Cat looked over at Etrius. "No offense, but if you try anything I'll kill you first." She ducked to avoid a punch from another guard to her right and slid her leg, tripping him up. She stood on top of him and let another guard rush at her before she cast a Fire spell and hopped from one unconscious brute to another. She taunted the thugs and two more came at her. She swung at one, knocking him into the other, and went over to help Etrius. "After all, all's fair in love and war. If anyone's gonna kill him, it'll be me."

 

"Sure." Kel said with a shrug. Maybe now they could finally get some answers or some more clues about the sword. As he followed behind Goofy, there was something else he was curious. "Hey Goofy, who's this King your trying to protect?" If it was a resident of this world, then he would've assumed that it was this world's king, but due to previous knowledge he wondered who was Goofy's king.

 

Beuce toppled over in pain due to the electric punch. "Why does this keep happening?!" He groaned. apparently, this wasn't the first time a woman had thrown a magically enhanced fist into his gut. Odd. You'd think that wouldn't happen too often...But then again, this was beuce. Things you wouldn't think would happen often happened all the time around him. He got back up after too long. Ananta may have been strong, but she was no Karina. "Alright let's just get to this old guy's house and ask him some plot relevant questions."

 

"Be right with you!" The roar had cut through Base like a knife. He caught up with D'daear almost immediately, keeping more at his pace than Krowley's. "You haven't seen it all, by the way. This is the tip of the iceberg. What is normal in one world is not always normal in another, and sometimes normal is even fuzzy within one world itself. Take for instance, the teapot. Is everyone in this world made of chinaware? Suppose that, or suppose that they are merely denizens of a certain variety, and other, different entities exist within these walls."

Given his light frame, running was getting easier for Base as he became stronger and more fit. What had once been a scrawny lad was turning into a lean individual of less-than-intimidating bulk; but being solid was better than being skin and bone. He was growing as his abilities increased. "One thing you want to make sure of, D'daear, is that you are prepared for anything. We are actively searching out the source of that monstrous roar, but do we know what it is? Are we prepared to face the source? It is your duty to always think critically on any situation, because you never know when you might be separated and have to think for yourself." All the things he normally kept to himself, but he was able to tell them to another; he was able to teach someone willing to learn. There was a sense of completion in Base's spirit merely in the gesture.

 

"Keep talking like that and I'll punch you again." she said. It was true, she didn't have the strength, but her magic would back her up. Starting to walk away, she turned back and sighed. Scratching her head, she walked over and grabbed Beuce's hand. She then lead him to the path Goofy and Kel were already walking along. Listening to Kel's question, she too was curious. "I'm also curious about that. You said something about a King?" she asked. Also wondering if it was the King of this world. Also holding Beuce's hand still.

 

As the goofy dog, human, thing, knight (christ in a corn shell what was this thing?) introduced himself as Goofy, he revealed that he did indeed come from a different world. And as though they weren't making it painfully obvious with their differing fashion senses, magical key weapons/transports, and talking like they were foreigners, Goofy did indeed know that they were from a different world. Well that certainly cut out any awkward tip-toeing around the subject that they would've had to do.

Anyway, the gang started going ahead and Stratos just couldn't get left behind in the dust like he was consistently doing. He heard Kel and Ana ask about the king that he's trying to protect and become a knight for, and also Beuce wanting to skip all this talk and get straight to the main plot. But it was the side plots that gave you more world information/probably plot relevant details. Oh well. Walking alongside the group, Stratos figured he'd ask some questions of his own. "Also, since being here will help you become a knight to your King, what're you supposed to be doing here that'll help you become said knight?"

 

Unlike Karina, who seemed less than entertained by Gaston's theatrics, Kross was quite enthralled, not just for the showmanship of course but for the information. Gaston just answered him in his own way, as much of a sleeze ball as Gaston was, he was well-informed. He crossed his arms and listened, picking up the beast's description of 'big fangs and big claws'. It sounded akin to a heartless, or the Unversed. If they were being threatened by this 'Beast' then it was Kross's and Karina's job to take care of business. As Karina once again told Gaston off for being so showey, he felt a bump in his side and glanced down to listen to Lebouf. He nodded slowly and watched as the old man tried to explain that he encountered the beast. He then saw Gaston throw the man out, wincing a little as Karina got even angrier with the larger man. She went out and he turned to Lebouf, shaking his hand."Thanks for answering my questions."He said to Lebouf, looking up to Gaston and laughed sheepishly."Sorry about Karina! I'll go after her. Thanks for the help!" He waved and made his way out to where Maurice was thrown. He saw Karina already questioning him and he went over, opting to be more gentle."Maurice is your name right?" He said, kneeling down infront of the man and helped him up, dusting the snow off of him. He hated cold weather, Pepper Island was usually tropical so he was used to hot, not cold. "Could you tell us what you know?"He asked."What about this castle? Do you think you could point us in the right direction?"He asked, smiling, trying to calm down the man, he knew Maurice would be distraught over Gaston, leave it to kross to try to diffuse any impending conflict.
