Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Ananta closed her eyes and covered her ears as the others tried to tell her to calm down. She even ignored Beuce's attempts to be serious. The only thing that snapped her out of this was cackling coming from the hut. Squinting her eyes, Ananta watched as an old woman flew out of the hut on a broomstick. Mim surfed around before stopping and squabbling with Merlin. Ananta blinked at the old woman before she turned her attention to Nequa. Stomping over towards Nequa, Ananta's keyblade returned to her hand in a flash of light. "If you think I'm going to stand here and fight an elderly witch, then you are sadly MISTAKEN!" she exclaimed, swinging her keyblade at Nequa. Of course she missed, seeing as Nequa moved away. Ananta huffed, gripping her keyblade tightly. Holding her hand up, ice formed around in a ball. Gripping it, she threw a ball of ice towards Nequa. "I don't want to fight Madame Mim, I want to fight YOU." she pointed at Nequa. "Unless you're too chicken to fight against a keyblade wielder." Ananta finished.

 

Glen waved a hand across his face, as if to swat away Cat's words. "We've got aaaaages, what's the harm in expressing our dreams? What are your dreams Cat? Got somethin against us all getting along and singing together?" he questioned. Glen enjoyed music as much as the next person, but he generally didn't sing, however the thugs could be singing whatever they liked, but they still sure as hell looked intimidating enough that you wanted to fit in. "Alright, I'm lying. I'm as over this singing as you are, let's just hurry up and get out of here before I snap and try to strangle Etrius again" he admitted. After a few moments, he began wandering over towards Kaida, Rapunzel and Flynn, and gave a very small wave. "Lets get goin, I need to sober up on the walk" he said, surprisingly attempting to be a little more responsible for his drunken actions.​

 

Kross put his arms behind his head, rising to his feet. The beast turned out to be a tall man with pale skin and red eyes, and very ebony hair. Karina's initial reaction piqued his curiosity, what kind of reaction was that...? He turned to Vincent, backing up Eon's words with a firm nod."use your instinct, you're a good man, Mr Vincent." He said, he could also tell that Vincent was also veryintelligable. He saw Karina just momentary glance at him before stating for them to never tell anyone else about her reaction. He looked at her, then gave a tiny smile." I promise not to tell a soul."he said gently, he would never embarrass anyone like that, it wasn't nice.

 

The rule of three Warriors and one Knight seemed to be just within Base's range of motion. His light frame gave him the edge on the clunky foes. Travelling and fighting had made him a running powerhouse, and brought out the determination it took to last the full battle and still stand on his feet in the end. Taking the advantages he had over the other fallen gargoyles, Base made quick work of the number he'd already worked out in his head. Working up a sweat, Base was charged with the full force of his considerable magical powers. He chose the moment to help Krowley as much as he could, and Luna was down too. He didn't know how much a Cure spell would help either of them, but he shouted "Life" twice for them both. There was only so much a Cure spell could do for either, but his allies needed something.

 

Steel sent a few more hits into a gargoyle knight, effectively eliminating another foe. Joce still seemed down for the count, and who knew when Krowley would help. He sped up to a warrior still affected by his stop spell, and sent several more deft strikes. He heard Base shout out, and his spell take effect around Luna and Krowley. "Base!" he shouted. "You don't have to worry about them; physically they're fine!" He sensed a warrior come up behind him managed to just dodge the blade. "Focus on the enemy for now, they'll help when they can." He blocked the second hit and dodged a few more.

He was very quick, and the stone heartless were particularly slow due to their material. However, he was distracted when he saw one of his opponents sneak up on Base. "Look Out!" He shouted. While he was distracted, the gargoyle warrior he was fighting breached his defenses and sent him flying toward a pillar. He felt pain and heard a thud as he made contact. He sank to the ground slowly as the heartless hopped over to him. He glared up at his foe as it readied its Weapon. As it swung to slice at him, he lunged to avoid the blow. Trusting that Base was holding his own against the gargoyles, he performed another combo on his opponent, ending in an upward slash that knocked it into the air. Another warrior approached and swung it's axe down. He leaped backwards to dodge the blow. In front of him, the axe embedded itself in the floor with a loud crack. Using this as an opportunity, he ran forward, up the axe, jumped off of the gargoyle warriors head, and gave a final slash to the one he had sent into the air. It evaporated into rocks and smoke as they both hit the ground.

In a final movement, he turned around to the Heartless still struggling to lift its blade out of the floor. He pointed at it with his keyblade and shot out a beam of light. The statue was paralyzed, and a ball of black smoke appeared as the heartless tried to regain control of the body it had chosen. He turned the keyblade as if it were in a lock, and a large burst separated the heartless from the statue. The black ball of smoke took full form and floated away with a hissing sound. Ignoring the already defeated possessor, he turned his attention back to the ongoing fight.

 

Ananta was proving to be real stubborn right now. No matter what they said to her, she just refused to listen to them. Yet with that in mind, it seemed like the cackling of a witch could snap her out of her funk. The only problem was that she was going after the wrong person altogether. Yes the thought of a wizards battle was pretty cool, Kel barely knew any spell in general, let alone enough to go toe to toe with a freaking witch. "Earth to the one mage we got, ignore her and help us with the Witch on a broomstick!" He shouted towards Ananta. She'd already picked a bad time to almost fall into despair and now she was picking an even worse time to ignore the bigger threat.

 

Beuce groaned. He thought he was supposed to be the stupid one here. Yet there was Ananta stealing his thunder! He didn't even know thunder yet! and she didn't know steal! So how the hell does that work?! Ugh...Beuce looked up at Mim. it seemed the IQ of the only mage they had dropped to lower than their shoe size temporarily. And last he checked, Ananta didn't have big feet. "I might not know too much in the way of spells, but last i checked my magic stat was the highest here! I'll take you on!" he yelled out. Perhaps he should make use of that mine square spell that was taught to him. Although with her being on a broom, that likely wouldn't be too useful without gravity. Vorpal blitz however, would tear right through her. He readied himself to confront Mim. The strategy he was about to use was risky, but if it played out the way he planned, Mim wouldn't stand a chance.

 

Tsk. Ana was proving to be a real handful to deal with right now. As much as everyone had tried to tell her how stupid she was being, she continued on her path towards self destruction and decided to challenge the masked fellow instead of the witch that they were hunting for, most likely going to burn in a beautiful bonfire, and help get rid of whatever problems she was causing right now. Best case scenario was that the masked one, who was obviously too powerful for them to deal with, decided to totally ignore Ana's challenge and they would just have to deal with Mim by herself...well okay, best scenario was that some sort of deus ex machina happened and both of them just dropped dead, but that most likely wasn't happening here. After Beuce had accepted the challenge, Stratos said, "and with a res stat like mine, you're spell are going to have a hard time breaking through this body. So, I guess I'm willing to help my friend here and take you on." It was true that physically, Stratos was pretty wimpy. He could barely put any force behind his keyblade strikes at all, and he had no sort of speed to speak of. But with magic, well he was more of a sort of pseudo-mystic than he was a guardian.

 

Once again D'daear was saved by Steel's battle prowess. It was quite amazing at how fast he was. Guess that's just a result of fine tuning ones skill. D'daear stood there in awe, while holding his bruised side. "Jeez...these guys are something." he uttered in silent bewilderment. Steel was even nice enough to halt time surrounding a few gargoyles for him. Gathering his wits, he went over and picked up his sweet memories from the floor, and bid his time examining the weapon he was holding. "Base and Steel...they're so strong..."he thought, letting himself process the situation. He definitely has a lot of catching up to do. Tightening his grip around the keyblade's handle, he looked up at the stopped gargoyles. Grinning, he could imagine them sweating beads from anxiety, which made him laugh. "I'm going to catch up to them! You'll see! And it starts with you!!" he shouted in excitement, pointing his keyblade over at the group. Now it was time to get serious. With renewed moral, he launched himself off his hind legs whilst placing his other hand on the keyblade's handle, and charged toward one of the gargoyles. "AAAAHHH!!!" he war cried as he plunged the tip of the keyblade into the side of his intended victim. The possessor gave a death cry before its growing cracks caused its form to crumble into nothing.

"Look out!" cried Steel. D'daear turned immediately to them to notice one of the creatures sneaking up on Base. "I got it!" shouted D'daear. With one strong motion, he hurled his keyblade at the heartless. The blade twirled like a disk, and within a split second it flew across the room, slicing clean through the heartless that dared to hit his friend. The keyblade soon collided with the wall nearby it, and fell to the floor. He frowned. "Tch...wish it would boomerang back or something..." he uttered to himself in disappoint.

Cat listened to Rapunzel's words and used them as motivation. From here on out, she'd do her best to see the mission through without emotional distractions from anyone else. The ruffians opened up the passage for them and wished the girl well while insulting Flynn all at once. She failed to suppress her giggle at his comment and grabbed some of the ends of Rapunzel's long locks before heading down. She waved to the thugs, who now seemed misunderstood above anything else, and walked along through the dimly lit tunnel. The place was lit with torches, but it seemed to be older than anything else they'd encountered in the world.

 

Luna started to get up as more of her hair turned black as night. She opened her eyes and one eye was red while the other was green. She walk up to 4 gargoyles. One gargoyle was ready to attack when it stopped in its tracks as it found a keyblade in itself. Luna swiped her keyblade upwards to split it in half. She then moved onto the others rapidly without speaking a word as both her eye and hair were being filled with a different color. Luna felt that the monster inside her was locking her heart up while she moved in to control Luna's body.

 

Kaida followed the group into the cave, skipping a little bit because it helped her move a little faster. Although she was plenty fast anyway. Kaida stopped for a moment to wait for others to catch up and then continued in this pattern. She realized at one point that she still had her disguise robe on and she sighed. She hated how long it was and she wanted to just rip it off and keep her normal clothes on, but she was content with sticking with this outfit until the end.

Kaida turned around and started walking backwards, being ignorant to something appearing behind her and she spoke, "Sooo, what do you all do for fun normally?" She just wanted to get conversation going due to way too much from the group entirely, plus, it didn't hurt to learn a little more about these people.

 

Ananta grumbled at each of them. Each of them said something that just ticked her off even more. Kel barked orders at her, probably trying to be a leader and make her do what he wants. Beuce said something about magic stats and having the lowest one or whatever. Stratos was trying desperately to be like Beuce, what with him referencing some kind of res stat or whatever. Ananta crouched down to the ground, placing her hands over her ears. She was wishing they would just stop talking and leave her alone for awhile. Looking down at her crystal for the first time in awhile, Ananta saw how dark it had gotten. Gasping, she held it in front of her and gripped it. "What happened...?" she said to herself. "What did I do wrong...? Am I not strong enough..." she began to think out loud. Small cracks began to form in the crystal as Ananta held it in her hand. Her eyes widened and she sobbed. "Could somebody come here..." she asked of her teammates. "Please...?" she said.

 

Eon was glad Karina was being so friendly to Vincent. That was an odd change in pace. Why exactly she was so nervous around him though was beyond him. He couldn't really comprehend the reasoning behind it. At least now Vincent was on their side.

Gaston came out with many men. Karina of course gave a vicious speech towards him, which he deserved after all, but still. He spoke up as well. "I've seen a beast. He's tall, harry, has an ego, and his name rhymes with spit on." Eon answered. It should've been obvious who he meant.

 

Kross put his hands behind his head in a carefree manner. He would never even try to embarrass any of his friends with anything. He smiled at Vincent."all we need to do now is to reach the castle and find our friends." He said. That was when Gaston showed up with his men, and Karina's temper went full swing, then Eon jumped in. he pinched his nose..how were they supposed to complete this mission if they couldn't follow one simple rule? He sighed, stepping infront of them. He shook his head to Gaston's question, looking up at him."no sir, we haven't seen a beast around here. Maybe your trail went cold?"he said in a calm and polite tone.

 

Etrius had been following his colleagues,silent as a ghost that He was. He heard Kaida's, and having nothing to do, responded, "Not too much since most of the worlds are going to darkness, assuming you already know this, but we mostly stay at the Land of Departure. All we've really done is go on missions, sealing keyholes-"
Etrius realized that he spoke too much. He gave a grimace before saying, "That's us in a nutshell."

Kaida listened to Etrius' words and looked up at the roof of the tunnel. After about a minute of absorbing his words, she spoke out loud, "You... guys really don't seem to care about keeping order in the worlds. Just now you spoke up right in front of these two and said oh yeah worlds are being consumed by darkness, and I don't think you understand the implications of... oh I don't know... TALKING ABOUT OTHER WORLDS." Kaida stopped walking backwards for a moment to take a breath and then she continued at her pace while clearly struggling to maintain her happy/calm composure.

"Anyway... so much for subtlety..." Kaida swallowed and for some reason her throat felt rather dry, "I meant like, hobbies. When you aren't on missions what do you do?" Kaida opened up her bag and searched through one of her smaller pockets and pulled out a wooden bear. "I whittle. I find it a good stress reliever and it's just really fun for me... do you do anything like that? Or are you boring and spar ALL the time to train like A-" Kaida stopped herself for a moment and thought it over and shook her head. "All of my friends... back home."
