    As good as her intentions were,Rapunzel could only look back and see what had become of her so called mother. Her hair had grey and wrinkles were becoming more and more noticeable. So very old, and aging rapidly since Rapunzel had not kept her young since she left. Her incantation not only healed the wounded, but prevented people from aging as well. Looking upon that face now, she would have happily gone with them. But something was keeping her back... the knowledge of who she really was, her parents, everything.

    "I need more answers!" Rapunzel insisted.
    "And they are yours for the receiving," Vanitas answered, swinging open the door.
    The girl's eyes intensified at the sight of the boy. She looked over his should to see that Gothel was gone and only her cloak remained, accompanied buy a small cloud of white dust.
    "What did you to her?" she asked softly, with fear in her voice.
    "Aged into dust as the saying goes. And why would you care? She lied to you. Betrayed you, and didn't even care about you. All she wanted was the hair on your head. Eighteen years of your life disappeared," in his hand he held the satchel that Rapunzel hid from Flynn. He held it up and took out the crown he had stolen from the castle. He held it up from his viewpoint to see how the crown would look on her head. " A life you lost because you were used. And now you will be used again... such a pitiful life for a princess of heart. But a life of use all the same."
    Rapunzel stepped back and held her hands. "I'm not going anywhere with you."
    Vanitas threw the crown to the side and walked towards her. "That wasn't a request."

    Nequa's helmet stood in one place for a few seconds to take in he hit Ananta had just performed. "Well that was disappointing," she finally spoke. Her helmet repositioned itself back to the girl on the floor. "Of course since I'm a girl too, I'm just as likely to hold a grudge, so I guess it's my turn to hit you!" She pulled back her fist which was slowly building with dark energy to the point where it was fully charged and ready to fire at a moment's notice.

    "Fire!" A fire spell was cast behind Nequa and exploded upon hitting the back of her right shoulder. She sighed loudly before powering down her fist and standing up to see who had interrupted her. She turned to see that Mizu had woken up and was out of the containment field. Merlin too was free and both eyed her down with intimidating glares.

    "Well, some one woke up cranky."

    Mizu pouted and looked angrily towards Nequa. The apprentice tilted her head and folded her arms. "Now why does that face look so familiar?" she questioned.
    "It's called being serious! People and worlds are no joke! They have homes and families and you can't just do what you want without even thinking about them! They are the true heart of each world."
    "Well, I can't seal people now, can I?... Or can I?... I'll have to try that later..."
    Mizu was not amused and charged. "No, that's just what she wants!" Merlin could see that she was being baited, but Mizu wouldn't listen to her continuing to toy with them. As the small wielder charged towards the apprentice, Nequa made a quickstep behind her and chopped the back of her neck, causing her to pass out again. She stumbled for a moment before falling forward, being caught in the arm of the very assailant her knocked her out. Surprisingly, she was handled with care and tossed gently over her shoulder. "I do so love getting the bonus prizes!" she exclaimed.

    "Now, now, see here! You-You-You put down that child or I'll-"
    "Firagolem." Nequa spoke out and snapped her fingers which caused a giant fire golem to appear behind wart. Like the ice golem, it had a similar body shape, but was consumed in flames. Wart held tightly onto the sword, still trying to hold it upright.
    "Now YOU see here. I'm going to take the girl and sword. In exchange, you keep the boy, dog, and keykiddies. Unless you want the alternative." The golem took a step to advance towards the boy.
    Merlin examined his options carefully. No one was experienced enough to take her on. His magic was more towards the pursuit of knowledge than combat. He was prepared to raise his arms, but he knew he couldn't win this fight. At best he could have them recover in hopes that both could be retrieved at a later time. He lowered his hands from the casting standpoint. "Forgive me child," he whispered.

    "Compromise. Gotta love it." Nequa walked towards Wart and looked down at the sword. "Sword Please."
    Wart looked down at the sword and off to Merlin. He had never seen him look so worried, meaning he should fear this woman just as much. With a sad expression, he looked at the hilt one more time, before lifting with all his might to hand it over.

    "Your co-operation in this hostage situation was most gratifying. Five stars to you!" She tapped the tip of his nose with her finger and took the sword, watching the fire golem fade as he did so.
    "I look forward to the improvement!" she yelled back, walking through the corridor with sword and girl in hand.

    Kaida just could not understand why Rapunzel was not cooperating but at this point it was too late for her to try and pull her away with Vanitas knowing because clearly he already knew they were there. Kaida jumped in front of Rapunzel and summoned her keyblade, backing up slowly and keeping Rapunzel behind her, "I don't know who you think you are but you're not going anywhere with Rapunzel, not while I'm still standing!"

    Ananta stared at Nequa as she watched her punch not even do a single point of damage to Nequa. She cursed under her breath as Nequa began to charge up a dark punch. Ananta looked up to see Nequa had stopped and turned her attention towards Merlin. At this point, each party member should be waking up by now, so Ananta crawled over to Beuce. "Hey...Beuce...got a proposition for you." she said in a low voice. "Seeing as Nequa is going to get the sword and run with Mizu..." she said, watching said events unfold, "Why don't we try and get the sword back? Mizu would be best to get, but...we can only save one thing. And that sword belongs to Wart." she gulped, sitting up on her knees now. "Mizu is strong, I'm sure she'll be fine. All I need you to do, Beuce, is to run at Nequa and assert yourself over her. I'm sure you can do it. I'll grab the sword. If you can, try to get Mizu though. If you can't, shove Nequa into her dark corridor." she finished, standing up now as Nequa began to walk away.

    Ananta stretched for only a moment before she rushed off and reached for the sword. Her hand reached for the hilt and grabbed, trying to tug away from Nequa.

    Kross was freed from the tar, ah, he was free, and ready to dish out the hurt again. He sharply eyed the Dark Thorn, brandishing his keyblade and bent a bit, then charged at the Dark Thorn and swung his keyblade in a series of four strikes. He then leaped back, backflipping to rejoin his allies."Oh here we go..good to be back in action."He said, grinning.

    Freedom had been restored to D'daear's feet with the end of the tar cycle. With that nuisance out of the way, everyone was free to rush the boss and inflict all they could. Both Kross and Luna had taken the initiative to attack the heartless with close quarters combat, to which D'daear felt a stir of excitement. This was further amplified with Beast's roar which sent chills down the heartless's spin. His muscles twitched with energy that was gathering within him. In a split second he leaned his weight forward, and launched off his position with his feet, darting towards the boss. The battle had been dragging on for so long; it was time to bring it a step closer to its end. Getting in real close, D'daear unleashed a flurry of hits onto the creature. Nothing spectacular in the sense of style.

    Luna looked toward Steel as she saw him faint. "No!!! Steel!!!!" Luna turned toward Dark Thorn and then toward the Three Caberellos. "Please amigos! Grant me strength to take down this enemy!" The Three Caberellos nodded as they got behind Luna. Luna sprinted toward Dark Thorn as she unleashed a massive combo on the enemy.

    Etrius let out a snarl of fury as Vanitas swung open the doors in steadfast swagger. His loathing was enough to darken his skin yet again, but this time, he still held his Keyblade. Etrius's growl suddenly turned into something else. Laughter. A short growling laughter was heard as Etrius's color became as dark as a Heartless's, and dark, pitch-black smoke blew from his shoulders. He spun his Keyblade to back-handed position, and he brought the hilt of the blade to his head. The result was a somewhat similar to Vanitas's battle stance. Etrius was ready for a fight.
    "Glen." Etrius said in a voice like a claw on stone, "Let's rip this coward in two. Then, you could have one half, and I can have the other."

    THis was it, the final strike. And it was his turn. Kross breathed in, concentrating his gaze on his allies. D'Dear was down and the others were counting on him to pull his weight. He brandished his keyblade, gripping the hilt tightly. 'Time to show them that I'm not just some child...' He thought to himself. He ran at the monster, He would be the one to risk himself, not just hang back and let his allies take that risk. He'd show them his strength, he would show them he wasn't weak. Time seemed to slow down for him. All his life, he had been made fun of and berated for being weak, and he thought getting the Keyblade would be the end of that. No, he still was weak in their eyes, a seemingly defenseless child. He grit his teeth and gave his cry, striking the monster with three hits, then jumped in the air and then dove down, slicing down with all of his might, the teeth of his keyblade striking the ground, slightly cracking it. He hopped back to join his allies.

    Struck by the last Keyblade attack it could endure, the weakened Dark Thorn attempted to run from the battle. In its blind, animal-like fury, it snatched up Beast in its claws and dashed off to the glass door leading out to the balcony as the ballroom shed its dark appearance to regain its golden glimmer. Faster than anyone cold reach, Dark Thorn pushed itself through the window and proceeded to thrash the Beast again and again with foot stomps and claw attacks. To finish off the master of the castle, the Beast was pitched high into the air, but he hadn't flown too far before the Beast used the last of his own strength to use one more Ferocious Bellow to finally defeat the monstrous intruder. The Dark Thorn burst out another roar, but was cut off as it burst and dispersed into tiny fragments of ethereal darkness. The wisps of dark smoke cleared, but the beaten Beast still flew until he landed with a hard thud on the balcony extending from his own room.

    The Beast tried to get up, but could not. He attempted to lift one heavy, furry arm, but even that was too strenuous to acheive; his limb fell limp and lifeless at his side. His breathing became shallow, all while Gaston, using his hunter's instinct, slipped through the Beast's bedroom door. A bow and arrow in his hands, Gaston smiled broadly and deviously; fires of darkness lit under his blue eyes. There was only minimal disappointment when the town hero found his target still shallowly breathing. With flair, Gaston removed his hunting knife from the holster on his boot.

    "Tell me, where you in love with her, Beast? Pathetic creature." Gaston readied his dagger, enjoying the completion of his ultimate hunt.

    Cat followed the group to the tower's base and was shocked at what had transpired. Rapunzel's hair, her "mother," Vanitas. It all seemed like too much to handle. Still, there wasn't time to just stand there in shock. She moved in front of Rapunzel along with Kaida and Etrius, holding her Keyblade firmly in her hand. "She said she doesn't want to go with you. Didn't anyone ever teach you any manners?" Admittedly, she was curious about the whole princess of heart issue, but they could worry about that later. She looked over to Etrius and was admittedly scared of what she saw. He looked... inhuman. And then he spoke to Glen about tearing Vanitas in half. "Whoa there boys. There's plenty of this creep to go around." She looked to both of them before pointing her key straight at the masked man. "You're not the only ones who're getting a crack at him."

    It was unbelievable. Ananta, even after facing a defeat so utter, still wanted to try and get the sword. Yeah, it was brave, but stupid beyond belief. "Wait a second! Will you just listen?!" Apparently she wasn't going to do that. She just kept talking about the plan of him distracting Nequa. He had an idea of how, but he wasn't willing to get everyone on the world brutally murdered by grabbing her ass. Although he made a mental note to grab the ass of that apprentice once he was strong enough to take her down. That was when Ananta, still having not listened to what he said, ran toward the dark corridor trying to grab at the sword. Beuce ran after her, but not to help her stop Nequa. He grabbed her by the back of the shirt, pulled her back, and punched her in the jaw. "ATTENTION CRYSTAL FOR BRAINS! LISTEN TO THE SEXY MAN IN FRONT OF YOU FOR JUST A DAMN MINUTE AND I'LL EXPLAIN TO YOU WHY YOU'RE STUPID AND HOW I'M GOING TO FIX THIS!" He screamed at her. "That girl just completely destroyed everything that went up against her. Even if you managed to get the sword away from her, it's not like she couldn't just turn around and take it right back! This time she might not be as patient with us. There IS NO stopping her from taking it! You can't change that! But, i've got a plan to get them back. If we're going to have a ghost of a chance at taking her on, we need magic as powerful as hers. I know how to get some. It'll take a while, probably across several worlds so there's not really much point in explaining it yet, plus i don't actually know too much about them yet, but i'll find them. Trust me, I'll get Mizu and the sword back."

    Luna looked toward the Beast and Gaston as Gaston was about to shoot his bow. Luna ran toward the Beast, keyblade in hand. She stood in front of the Beast to protect him from Gaston. "So what if he is!? Love is a beautiful thing that you wouldn't be able to comprehend since you're such an idiotic muscle-head!!" Luna shouted toward Gaston as anger spread across her face. "Any living thing can be able to love and be loved in returned!! Though you're the exception!!! You're a despicable human being who will never love as be loved in returned!!!" Luna pointed her keyblade at Gaston. "Leave!! Now!!! Before that face of yours gets charred to bits and pieces!!"

    "Such a flow of raw emotion. Hatred and spite ll direct into that which creates it. Almost endearing if I didn't feel the same. All this time I was told to hold back... but not anymore." Vanitas summoned his keyblade and took his stance. "One by one we will retrieve the princesses without the need to be at bay any longer because you interfere. I am free to unleash my potential on you and I assure you... it's quite deadly."

    A dark aura began to surface around the boy, growing stronger with each word. "Only when you fall by my blade can you see your true fear. The overwhelming epiphany that you can't win against us, and that the heart of worlds will fall because of that very reason. There's no outcome where you win. I'll be whole once more and you will be lucky to keep your shell of a body."

    While it took some effort and using his keyblade as a crutch, Kel finally managed to get up to his feet. Of course though he wouldn't be able to do much in his current state, especially since his keyblade was the only reason he was standing. Sure his will was strong, but ti wasn't strong enough to keep him standing after being beaten down like that.

    Unfortunately things weren't much better around him. Ananta just failed at her last ditch effort to attack Nequa, Mizu had just been knocked unconscious and was being kidnapped and she had the sword. Great, things were falling apart. Everything around them, fell apart. Next thing that he heard was Beuce's plan of getting the sword and Mizu back. Just how long was he out for.

    "As good as gaining enough magic to stand a chance against her sounds, we have no idea what she's planning on doing. Heck, Mizu might just be hostage material for all we know." The corridor had closed and things were had somewhat settled down. "Still if it leads to a shot at some payback, then I'm all for it." His words were brimming with the confidence that they could pull this plan off, despite the fact that his keyblade was the only way that he was on his feet right now.

    The keybearer D'daear took no time to express his feelings in what could've been a victory fanfare. He quickly ran up to Steel and nudged him violently. The moment he would open his eyes, he would be off towards the balcony with the assumption that Steel would pick himself up. It's not that D'daear was unkind, but Steel was a strong individual, and considering the situation with the heartless, he felt rushed. The heartless had ran off, attempting to escape. It was a crafty creature, as it apparently had plans to escape with a hostage: Beast. This was something the young warrior would NOT have. They fought so hard to protect Beast and Belle, and now this thing was going to try and pull a fast one on their victory? No. He was sure as heck going to do all in his power to prevent a sad ending in this fairytale. Impulses surged throughout his form as he increased the pace in his sprint. The creature had already slammed its way past the balcony entrance by the time D'daear had even started running. Now as he approached, he heard a loud Roar emanate from outside. It was Beast's powerful bellow, which from the silhouette his blue irises could make out, had rendered the heartless immobile and defeated. Luna had already made her way past the doors which were now only a yard away from him. Shouting had begun to ensue. A desire to find out finally led him out the balcony door, coming to a slowing halt as he now stood before an immobile Beast, Luna, and strange man bearing a hunting knife, bow, and quiver of arrows A simple observation entailed D'daear that this man was not a friendly, as Luna stared angrily at the man while keeping herself in between him and the Beast.Without a second thought D'daear took offensive stance, staring at the man.

    "Hey! Drop the knife! You're clearly outnumbered here. In fact, there's two more heading this way." he let on, hoping to use reason to convince the man.
