"it happened during then? and you knew something like this would happen?" Ryo said

 

"I knew there was a chance of this happening, yes. I was actually looking forward to it."

 

"but I wasn't. Im not ready to be a father" Ryo said

 

"We've got plenty of time to prepare before I give birth. Don't worry about it, Ryo."

 

Ryo stared at the ground for a while and then suddenly ran out

 

"Where are you going, Ryo?!"

 

Ryo ignored her and continued to run

 

Lucrecia started to go after him, but soon fell and sprang her ankle.

 

Ryo didn't notice her and ran up to the rooftops and sighed

 

Lucrecia laid on the ground, unable to get up.

Lily stood behind Ryo and grabbed him.

 

"huh m-mom?" Ryo said

 

"Ryo, I'm disappointed in you. You find out your wife is carrying your child and you act like a frightened baby at the prospect of being a father. I thought you were supposed to be a man, but I guess you're not ready for manhood yet."

 

"the thing is I don't want a child" Ryo said pulling away from his mother in anger

 

"Life isn't about getting what you want." Lily said, pinning him down and pointing her sword at his throat in anger.

"You think I was ready to become a mother when I had you? Of course I wasn't, but I didn't go acting like a stupid child! I faced the future head on and raised you and your sister together with your father. I had many chances to leave you two behind, but I never once turned away from you, despite my apprehension to becoming a mother." She then grabbed him by the back of his neck and made him look at where Lucrecia was.

"You see your wife laying helpless there? You're going to at least go and help her up and get her inside. Now are you going to do it voluntarily, or am I going to have to throw you from this roof?"

 

Ryo closed his eyes "Im not doing this because I am afraid. Im doing this because of what my child will have to deal with in the future" Ryo said

 

"How do you think your child will be prepared for the future if you're not there to raise it? If the child develops powers like yours, then how will it learn to control them without your help? Did you ever stop and think of that?"

 

"the thing is I might not even be there for the child" Ryo said

 

"You should at least be there to see your child being born. You'll regret it for the rest of your life if you don't see it." Lily said before she sighed.

"Don't let your child grow up without at least knowing who their father is. I don't want my grandchild to be like Sakura is."
