Look at your favourite character, truly. (Productive game!)

Okay, I see people bandy around their favourite character without really looking at the negatives. I made this thread to try to get people to see their favourite character in a new light. I have recently thought about my favourite characters, and I have found I had a few, so I sat down and analyzed one of them.

Sora:
I liked this happy go lucky personality a while back in kh1, but it got steadily worse through the two coms and kh2. He got far too violent, attacking too many times without thinking about it. I know Sora is generally scatterbrained, but he is not ******ed, which is what he slowly became by kh2. I hate that aspect of him. In kh1, I got great speeches about the heart's true nature. In COM, I got them again. This time they sounding like pick-up lines, but I let it slide. In kh2 though, none of them really meant much.

I am all for personality expansion, but he became ******ed and far too violent.

See? It looked quite interesting due to what I found when I examined him.

Now, most people have trouble doing this, and looking at their characters in an unbiased light. So instead, how about you analyze the above poster's character?

Person A would come along, and post their favourite character, along with a few points about what they like about the character.
Person B would come along, and reply to these comments, finding flaws in the argument and pointing out the above character's faults. Then they would post their own character.

Starting off:

I like Roxas.

• I feel sorry for him, as he got sealed in the fake twilight town, and got his memories changed.
• I feel sorry for him, because DiZ treated him like dog crap due to Roxas being a nobody, despite Roxas obviously having feelings.
• I liked his attitude towards DiZ at the end of the twilight town saga. We do not get an anger management character often, so it was a novelty at that point.
• I disliked how he was forced into combining with Sora. He should have had a choice.
• I liked his desperate fighting style in TWTNW. He had nothing to loose. This sort of added to my sympathy for him.

Now, try to point out flaws in this, then do your own. Feel free to add bad points about him.

 

Oh god dammit pika, I like Roxas too...in fact hes my favorite character...
*sigh*

• Roxas is too oblivious. He finds out he cannot say or remember a word...and finds it was stolen by a nobody...instead of looking at the nobody and saying "OMFG WTH IS THAT?!" hes like, HEY! give me back my_____ !
  
• no one else questions why roxas can pull keyblades out of midair or why he has sudden "seizures" (clocktower).
  
• Roxas is almost as gullible as sora. (not as dumb, just...easily tricked)
  I mean COME ON! he dies from...a double take...*facepalm*
  
  I like Riku.
  
• In battle, he would rather rely on his mind and skill rather than his heart. Sora is a good fighter, but Riku can do so much more with his power, and hes been a keyblade master for less than 1 month.
  
• He uses darkness...instant badass
  
• I would just like to point out that if Riku was the main character and sora was not, kingdom hearts would be too short of a game. Cut out the disney corniness, the random kairi flashbacks, the confused moments, and the naivety, and you've got something just above a demo in terms of game depth

 

Riku is generally cool and all except for a few things like:

• He seems so emo most of the time and doesn't seem to realize that Sora will care about him no matter what form he is in. (I didn't like how he was all like "Oh I looked like Xemnas so I didn't want you to see me."
• That also leads to him being so self-conscious. I liked the old Riku better even if he was a bit too cocky. I look at KH2 Riku and I'm like what happened to you man?
• He looked really cool with that blindfold and organization coat, but once he took it off it was almost the exact same clothes he had in KH1, that was pretty lame.
• It was kind of really lame playing as Riku at the end, his HP was so low and he only had like 2 moves.

One of my favorite characters is Axel because:

• His hair is a vibrant red color with really cool spikes and he has really cool green eyes. Axel just looks really cool. :D
• He has awesome weapons. I love the chakram and how he can use it for so many different things.
• Axel has fire powers! Fire is always super cool.
• Love his explosive personality and the care he shows for Roxas.
• He says awesome things like "Burn baby" and I just love his voice in both English and Japanese.
• He is very tall.
• Although Axel is not supposed to have a heart, he cried in that Remembrance scene when Roxas was leaving.
• Axel helped Sora/Roxas by using the last of his strength to kill all those nobodies and open a path to help them find Kairi.
• In the manga (not sure about in KH2FM+) he helps Namine get away from Saix and protects Namine from him.

 

Even though he's not my overall favorite, I do love to pick Xemnas apart.

• First, it's the way he holds himself. It's so dignified, almost elegant. It's the same with his fighting style. If he didn't have to wear that coat, I'd be willing to bet he'd be wearing something Neo-Victorian, it just fits him so well.
• Take a look at his Heartless. In the game, the size and strength of your Heartless is totally dependant on the amount of darkness in your heart. Xehanort had some serious baggage, and I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of that transferred itself to Xemnas. He's completely crazy, but you couldn't guess that until you talked to him for a while, the thing is, I don't think he even notices how messed up he is.
• Going back to fighting for a minute. Was anyone else totally freaked out when they finally beat Xemnas? It's his last words, "Keyblade", or something. He's completely obsessed with it. Kinda scary.
• The Room of Sleep. Notice what he's saying as he's walking down the last section of the ramp? Why would he say that if he wasn't bitter about it? Maybe he doesn't want to believe he has a heart, so he tells the rest of the organization that they don't have hearts. Or maybe he's trying to convince himself that he doesn't have one. Which is really bad.
• Does he remember who Kairi is? They didn't mention in Never Was that she's really from Radiant Garden. Seems like that'd make an interesting plot point.
• I don't exactly have solid Likes and Dislikes about Xemnas himself. It's the type of Character that he is I really like. Not exactly a Tragic Hero, but dang close. I'd enjoy being his therapist, if he'd admit he needs one.

 

Shoot....this'll be hard since Axel's my fave too....

• He's a bit of a floater. We saw what he did in Castle Oblivion, so you thought he was working for Xemnas, but then he betrays the Oraganization again in KH2.
• For some reason, I see those chakrams and think of Xena: Warrior Princess...
• While I like that he's cocky, I found that annoying in the game itself. There were times I wanted to strangle him because he blurted out some snarky comment.
• Fire schmire. Demyx could come out of nowhere for all I care and extinguish him.
• Two words: Girly hips.
• Those little tattoos under his eyes...I read somewhere that those mean you've raped someone. Doesn't help Axel's cause that he was chasing Roxas/Sora the whole game.
• If he was really working for the Organization, he wouldn't have leaked all that info in Hollow Bastion.

Now, I like Saix.

• That Berserk move of his, while it was a pain to fight, was still just awesome
• He's got this low-tolerance attitude of his, which I found amusing
• "If I had a heart, this is where I'd die of laughter." *squees*
• That whole thing about "Kingdom hearts...where is my heart?" made me sad.

I think that's about all I can think of.

 

here are some bad things about Siax-

1. He kiddnapped Kairi, which is not nice
2.He tricked Sora into bowing, and then didn't do what Sora wanted him to do. Thats bull.
3.He tried to make the anger come out of Sora and make him a heartless. Thats really bad.

My favorite character is Namine!
1. She manipulated Soras memories when she didn't want to, which made me feel sad for her.
2.She is really lonely, which made me feel sad for her.
3.She can draw really good.
4.She helped out Sora and the others when they were stuck on TWTNW.

 

Oh good.

• She screwed with Repliku's memories, crushed his heart, and he still came to protect her. No sorrys, or even thank yous. Ungrateful.
• Loneliness despite lacking a heart.
• The whole annoying confusion with Roxas, Kairi and Sora. How was she made?
• She kept playing the traditional damsel in distress role.
• She is credited with a relationship with Roxas, while they have met less than 5 times. Also, it could cause a lot of trouble with the whole KairixSora thing.
• She ruined Sora's memories, and caused him to be trapped for a year.

My turn.

• He was the first guy to have the identity crisis problem.
• He Got his memories changed against his will, forcing sympathy.
• He got mind crushed by the one he cared about most.
• He ended up being good at the end, helping Sora.
• He drew his heart together after being heartcrushed on a memory he knew was false. Pure determination.
• He ended up going out making a really nice speech.
• He got tricked and manipulated by the org at every turn.
• He is completely under-cared for by Nomura.
• He never had a choice about what to be.
• He went near insane at the end. Always a good sign.

Yes, it is Repliku.

 

Sure, Roxas may have only met her five times, but Roxas deserves some straight lovin'!

• He was simply a carbon copy of Riku
• Despite the above statement, he got his ass whooped by Riku 2-3 times and by Sora around 4 times (a whole lot however you look at it)
• Completely copied Sora's 'I <3 Namine and you can't stop meh :3' attitude. It was annoying enough with Sora!
• Despite everyone telling him that his memories were fake, he stuck to them with Sora's trademark pig-headedness
• Even more of a relentless emo than Riku
• Wears the Grass Skirt of D00M all the time.
• One of his lines was really... gay... I mean, there's Kingdom Hearts implied yaoi and then there's THAT! (sorry, it just sounds wrong!)
• Even after everything Sora and Namine taught him by the end of Sora's story, he still ran off to fight Riku. Accept that he'll whoop you and stop crying about it!

Now, I like... (sorry, i just do)

ROXAS

• He has a much better fashion sense than Sora. Pants instead of short shorts!
• Acts like the realistic and grounded version of Sora.
• He didn't act stereotypically 'emo' like Riku and Repliku. He channeled his sadness into hate of DiZ, the source of his problems, and Sora, his Nobody, and completely whooped ass.
• He dual-wields. 'nuff said.
• He almost BEAT Sora, his own Somebody! We can all agree the cutscene was a super-close fight.
• Despite DiZ forcing him to restore Sora, he had the strength of heart to resist disappearing until The World That Never Was, where he willingly restored Sora.
• On that note, he had the strength of heart to manifest himself and whoop Sora's ass!

 

Dang...I like Roxas...well, here goes...

• He totally turned his back on Axel in TWTNW. Seriously, with the "No one would miss me..."
• He was not forceful at all when he "tried" to save Namine from DiZ. And I quote...
  
  Roxas: *holds out hand toward Namine* Stop...Namine!
  DiZ: *gets away*
  
  Seriously, Roxas lost some cool points right there.
  
• He was also slightly deaf in that scene.
  
  Namine: You won't disappear!
  Roxas: I'll...disappear?
  
  Seriously. I smacked my head when he said that.
  
• He didn't bother to call Hayner to apologize about hanging out with Seifer. What's up with that?!

Now for my favorite character: Demyx!

• Mullet=epic win. Business in front, party in back!
  
• He's got a big-@$$ sitar!! And water clones!
  
• I felt really bad (the second time playing) when he sobbed after Sora beat him. He's sensitive!
  
• I also felt bad when he said, after you beat him, "Aww...booed again..." Poor guy!!
  
• He's got some great lines!
  
  "Run, run away!"
  "I told them they were sending the wrong guy!"
  "Hey, you guys are lookin' lively!"
  "DANCE, WATER! DANCE!!"
  
  
• I know...I just KNOW that he really doesn't want to steal hearts. He probably just wants to stay in his room and play his sitar
  
• I always think of "Tainted Love" when I think of him, and I love that song.
  
• He's blond, like me!
  
• And right now, he's probably working at Starbucks.

 

1.Demyx is a total wimp
2.He stoal the olympis stone
3.The time limit on his water clones sucked.

Now Xigbar!
1.He weilds a gun! The coolest shotgun!
2.He has such cool lines: "Have you been a good boy?" Classic!
3.An eye patch. That spells coolness.

 

Xigbar is cool and one of my fave chars buuuuuuuut...

1. His appearance totally doesn't match his surfer dude voice. That was such a trip.
2. He seems to know things and it was questionable what he was doing but you don't get to find out or understand how he knows about the Keybladers of the past.
3. He needs to learn what movie stars with guns do and get the guns that don't need reloading until after 5000 shots fired.
4. He totally got gimped in the American version of the game where we didn't get to see his sniper abilities and him joining his two guns together for an awesome rifle of doom.


Hmm who did I like that isn't up here..ah yes, Hades!

1. He's totally cool with his speech and motions.
2. He has blue flame hair.
3. He acts like he has control of people who are dead but always seems to have them screw him over sometimes. I find that funny.
4. He owns the best pets in the game. Cerberus and the Hydra.
5. The arena kicks butt. Now if he would stop being evil and just do that all the time, it would rule. He gets the best enemies to fight in there and it's good fun. It just makes me wonder where he gets them from.

 

• A mockery to the hades in history
• One of the newer disney creations.
• Sucks to fight. He is amazingly weak.
• He somehow gains control of Auron. Auron is not from the olympus world. He is breaking the world border!
• He is too obsessiveNow of Hercules. Sort of like team Rocket and Pikachu. We all know how that turns out, and I can see hades going the same way.
• He has the amulet to foil his power in the underworld, but he has nothing to give him strength above. So he looses everywhere. Sucks to be him.
• He never gets truly cleared away in KH1 like other villans. He is left incomplete, story wise.
• He, like the rest of the bad guy group, have become weaklings compared to Nobodies. I HATE this.

Now, time for DiZ.

• He was betrayed, thus a victim. Victims are always looked upon fondly.
• He escaped darkness by weilding it himself.
• He had an identity crisis.
• He helped Sora.
• He realized his folly in the end.
• revenge is always a fun theme.
• He wore a cool outfit.
• He used technology.
• He was a massive plot twist.

 

1.He was the whole reason Riku looked like Xeahnorts heartless
2.He killed himself
3.He didn't go to Mickey to warn him of anything.

Now..Kairi!
1.She had to wait a whole year for Sora to come back
2.She got kidnapped by Axel
3.She had to have that whole Sora memory wipe,thanks to Namine
4.She was used as bait for Sora to become a heartless.

 

-He thinks too much.
-Hes clueless, like sora...
I'm bad at this..

 

geez you know i only like xemnas because of his fighting style but here goes.

1. he has lots of weakneses...eseseseseses. such as the fact that when he attacks he only spins in circles which is wierd and leaves him open.
2. he is just dumb i mean he barely looks different from xehanort and his heartless.
3. the lightsabers are a ripoff of star wars.
4. i just dont like him.
5. he is totally creepy and obssed with kingdom hearts and the keyblade.

one of my favorites is hayner.

1. he looks cool: the camo and the skull
2. he fights kinda cool and his stance is way better then sora/regular roxas's
3. he has and anger problem but is actually really nice.
4. hes best friends with roxas ( i was gonna do roxas but he was already done.)
5. i think he would be a great leader if he learned to listen to other peoples ideas (i have the same problem)

well no offense but thisll be easy

1. shes weak
2. she couldnt help sora at all until kh2
3. her keyblade is too girly for her attitude
4. she got kidnapped, TWICE! and couldnt do crap about it.
5. there arent enough romantic scenes.

i also like marluxia

1. he has a scythe which is a rare weapon that i like
2. he has really wierd attacks.
3. his reaction command is really cool
4. he was willing to defy xemnas to take control
5. he was a really cool boss especially beacuse he had 2 forms 3 in the remix.

 

Hayner:

• He is quick to jump to conclusions
• He is VERY weak, you beat him easily in that struggle tournament
• His idea to go to the beach caused me to have to play those stupid minigames over and over and over again until I got enough munny -.-;
• He's kind of all talk and little action

Marluxia: (this is way too easy)

• He looks very feminine. Two words: PINK HAIR
• His every action causes pink flower petals to fall from him.
• He seems to move his arms around a lot like noodles.
• He was very drammatic in the way he did. Hehe, drama queen.
• Even though having a scythe is cool, his was pink.
• He laughs too much.

So now for a random character that I don't hate (you guys took a lot of the good ones already :()

Zexion:

• He has cool illusion powers
• Cool emo style hair even though he actually isn't emo
• Called the Cloaked Schemer, which is a pretty cool alias.
• He seems to be very smart as he is the youngest of the scientists and seems to look like a teenager.
• His nickname among fans is Zexy, which sounds almost like Sexy so it's cool

 

Aw, crap. D=

• He didn't do much. At all. We see him in a few scenes, then he died.
• He seemed pretty show-off-ish, to me. Not cool.
• Why'd he go after Riku? Riku didn't know he existed, so why didn't he just leave him alone and escape with his life?
• Why didn't he just go back to the Org. and report Marluxia to Xemnas? That sounds safer and that would've stopped Marly a lot faster and he... Might not've died. Seems like a smarter thing to do.
• He got Lexaeus killed... I dunno, I got nothing.

I freaken' love Saïx:

• First off, I love the werewolf-thing he had goin' on. =D Just awsome. I love how his character seems to be based on that, both looks and personality-wise.
• I love his voice. Completely emotionless, apathetic, calm, and at the same time, mocking. I love how he pulls it off. And then he's suddenly screaming at you and throwing stuff at you and throwing you across the room! And then he suddenly goes back to being totally calm. =D And then he died, and his voice changed again, and he sounded so sad and... I just love his voice. XD
• I saw a lot of potential for his character. KH2 didn't really develop anyone's character in depth, so they can do pretty much whatever they want with him in Days.
• In the Days trailer, there was a scene with him and Axel where he says that there's a traitor in Castle Oblivion and, on Xemnas' orders, Axel is to eliminate the traitor when they find him. Axel asks if it's really an order from Xemnas and Saïx hesitates before answering. Leaves a lot of unanswered questions there, which I think is really interesting. =D
• Guys with pierced ears = Awsome
• From the way Saïx talked to and about Axel in the novel and in the game, it's pretty clear he hated him for some reason. I think that's interesting, too, especially since Axel is my other favorite character. Hoping Days will explain why.....
• Also like the potential BBF-ness between Saïx and Xemnas. XD
• Freaken' Berserk Mode! =D How is that not awsome?
• I didn't really start to like him until the scene where he died... I love how he just gave up... "Kingdom Hearts... Where is my heart?" I felt so sorry for him....

=D In conclusion, Saïx is awsome.

 

Saix:

• Uhhh... have you ever watched that organization parody with the sailormoon song? Saix: He is the one named Sailormoon. That is just not cool man, seeing as it does kind of fit, haha.
• All of his teeth are sharp, like a shark's. A wolf has fangs, but not all of the teeth are fangs like Saix's and it just doesn't look cool that way.
• He's like a suck up to Xemnas.
• Saix is such a follower, follows everything Xemnas tells him to do, he has a brain so he should use it more often.
• His hair is weird such that it looks like a bike helmet on the top with long hair coming out of it.
• Saix's berserk makes him kind of seem like he has rabies or something.

Larxene:

• Her lightning is so strong that it can kill many people in one hit (in KH2FM+)
• She WAS the only female in the organization. Dude that is being hella badass.
• She doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks about her
• She isn't afraid to mess with the other guys
• She has bigger cojones than Demyx (sorry, I love Demyx but it's true xD)
• She can fight in heels!
• Her laugh scares small children
