He smiled in return, finally people were being nice again. "Well that is true."

This is a long post, so I'll have an abbreviation at the bottom.

IC:
On his way to class, Just took a right turn around a corner and realized that he stepped on something. He looked down. It was a notebook Death Note? Isn't that a band? He picked it up. As he did, a shiver ran down his spine. He opened it up and read the first few pages. Are these lyrics or something? Wait... they told me something about this. Oh god! This is the weapon Kira used! He almost threw the notebook to the ground in fear. What do I do with this thing!? His heart was pounding. He could be put in jail for life just by being near the notebook. He looked around. It has my fingerprints on it! If I leave this here I'm dead! He tried to keep calm. He looked around in paranoia and shoved the notebook into his back pack. He ran into the bathroom to splash himself with some water and calm himself down.

After a few minutes he was calm. OK, as long as no one knows that I have this thing I'll be fine. I just gotta keep it hidden... Or maybe destroy it. But it has to be subtle and effective. He looked up into the mirror and saw a grisly creature behind him. The sight of the black winged beast shocked Just and he had to call upon the best of force will to not scream. He simply let out a long gasp as he turned to face it.

The creature laughed. "J-Just what the hell are you!?" Just said, shocked. It laughed again, "Who am I? Why I'm a shinigami. The name's Ryuk, and judging by the haste and stealth in your movement you already know what that that is no ordinary notebook." It laughed again, "That was originally mine, but I have a habit of dropping the thing from the shinigami world to the human world every now and again to see how the humans use it and react to it. I've seen some pretty interesting stuff with you humans.

"Anyway, here's how this is gonna work." Ryuk continued, "You can write names to your heart's content, and all I have to do write your name in my Death Note when the time is right."

"W-w-when the time is right?" Just asked, shaking.

"Oh don't worry." it made yet another laugh, "You'll see."

"No!" Just protested, "I won't be part of your sick little game you monster! I'm gonna destroy this notebook!"

"No you won't" Ryuk said, "I won't let you. That would ruin my fun."

Just stared at the monster, wide-eyed in fear, "Well then I'll just keep it and never use it."

"Well in that case I'll just take it back and erase your memories. It's as simple as that. All you have to do is give up ownership."

"And how do I do that?" Just asked.

"It's simple, just tell me that you give up ownership of that death note." Ryuk replied.

"I will," Just said, "but not right now. I need to remove all the evidence the that I ever touched this notebook."

Ryuk laughed, "Pathetic human. You're no fun. Come on, that's the very notebook Kira used. Hell, another student here used that notebook recently."

Just's pupils dilated, "N-n-no!" How safe can this place be when its students are so easily corrupted? He took a deep breath, "How do I contact you when I want to give this thing up?"

The monster released another laugh. It was beginning to annoy Just. "You don't. I have to follow you until you give up the notebook. Or you die. Whichever comes first."

"But people will notice you with me! I can't have that happening!"

Ryuk laughed yet again, "Only the owner of that death note can see or hear me. Don't worry, the only one I'll be able to scare is you... or anyone else that you let touch that notebook." it laughed again.

Just grunted. "Fine. At least you'll be gone by the end of the day."

Ryuk just grinned, "Ooh, touchy."

And with that, Just left the bathroom, the shinigami following closely behind.

Abbreviation: Just finds the death note that Morgan gave up and is scared stiff. While calming down in the bathroom, he meets Ryuk who explains the situation and rules of the death note to him and how humans with death notes entertain him. Just says he won't be a tool for Ryuk's entertainment and he says that he will remove the evidence of him ever having the notebook and then relinquish ownership of the notebook once all is complete.

 

Koian finally got to the door of her first and next class. Looking at the number she sighed. She turned around and walked to the courtyard she found on her way here. Ill just play houcky the first day.... It wont matter.. Ill just say I was sick... or something. Koian got to the courtyard and entered. She sat down on a bench and lied down. Closing her eyes for a few minutes in the sun, she feel asleep.

 

"You know, I'm all for naps and such. Releves stress and such, but I do object to it when it's interfering with your education. You're suposed to be intelligent are you not? Because so far you're showing no signs of it." Mello sneered harshly. Poking Koi in the ribs with his large booted foot as he looked down on her from his perch on the arm of the bench she was occupying.

"Oi, Mello play nice now." Matt called over at his friend. Worried that Mello might take it a little to far, as he often did when it came to people that got on his nerves. How ever he wasn't dare risking his calm exterior appearance and butting in. If Mello wanted to yell and stuff then fine, as long as he didn't take it too far.

 

Koian sliped open 1 eye and looked at him. ''Yea... So?'' She said closing her eyes again but still awake.

 

"If you don't get your sorry arse to class soon I'll be informing L that you're simpley wasting your time here and that your spot would of been better allocated to one of the other many, much more ethusiastic students. Not like you seem to be trying at all. There's no space in this school for people who aren't even going to make the effort to show up on time or even at all." Mello growled.

"Mello..." Matt sighed, dropping his head heavily into his palm.

 

Koian opened both eyes then sat up. ''Alright... Alright...'' She got up and began walking to the class she has to go to. I cant sleep? Gosh... She walked down the hall quietly.

 

Already in the classroom was Luna, sitting at the back and not really paying to much attention. Most of this was stuff she'd learnt a short while ago at university. She'd only come here as there might be some people of her own age and abillity there, though so far the only person she'd found worth talking to was Near. He seemed like a nice guy, even if he was a teacher. And he wasn't that much older then the students away...

"You're such a drama queen Mello." Matt sighed. "You really are."

"Oh shut the f*ck up Matt. Go back to whatever game you just bought." He muttered, jumping off the bench and onto the pathway. "I gotta get to whatever sh*t I'm teaching today. Ain't you too?"

"Free period." Matt smirked. Flicking his fringe from his goggles to see better.

"You're a d*ck." Mello said jokingly.

"Why thank you Mr Manwhore."

"Whatever Matt." Mello chuckled, casually waving goodbye and leaving for his class.

 

Koian got to her class. All she knew was she was late and there was onyl 10 minutes left. She walked in and sat down at a empty seat. She stared off into distance yet she listened to what ever the teacher was talking about. Sounds like this is the History class... The teacher didnt know she walked in.

 

Through out the day, all Just could think about was the notebook. Can I even trust this... thing!? What's stopping it from killing me!? I saw that it had one of those notebooks!

The periods felt like they lasted forever. Through out the day, he got a few strange looks from his classmates, but it didn't matter. The only thing that crossed his mind was how he would get that notebook away from himself.

Later that night in his dorm room, he waited for his roommate to leave and then pulled the notebook out of his backpack. "Ryuk, I-"

"Wait a second, kid." Ryuk interrupted. "Before you make me go through the work of flying around looking for a good place to drop this thing again let me ask you something. Isn't there just one person you want to kill?"

"Of course not! That's so immoral I can't stand it!"

Ryuk laughed, "Think it over for a few more minutes. I have to return to the shinigami realm for a bit. Some of the guys up there would love to watch a few more of you humans squirm. This place is full of drama."

He laughed again and flew away out the window, "Get back here!" Just yelled to Ryuk. He slowly turned away from the window and sat down at his desk, staring down at the notebook. He read the instructions once more.

"Just one person I want to kill..." He repeated Ryuk's words.

He thought back. He remembered the one person in this world he would kill. The man who killed his little brother in cold blood and got off on a ten-year sentence. He could never forget that name.

"William Adams." he said to himself.

He picked up a pen. Can I do this? Can I really kill a person? Is it my place to judge who should live or die? He sat there for a few minutes, Ryuk and a few other shinigami were staring at him from the window, holding back laughter.

"You know Ryuk," one of the shinigami said, "you're a jackass, but this is great stuff!"

Just took out his wallet and looked at a picture. "Stanley..." he whispered to himself, "I won't let your death go unavenged!"

He opened to the first blank page of the notebook and in huge letters, almost taking up the entire page, wrote "William Adams"; he quickly put the pen down. He started chuckling. The chuckles elevated to a soft maniacal laughter, "The bastard's gone!" he said in victory. Ryuk and the other shinigami started laughing insanely. After a minute or so, Ryuk went into Just's dorm.

"So, make up your mind yet?" he asked as he looked down at the large letters written in the notebook, pretending to have just noticed the writing at that very moment, "Well oh my. You seem to have written a name." he laughed, "I knew you had something in you."

"Well don't get used to it, Ryuk." Just said, "I went a bit overboard here, but this notebook will seldom be used, if at all."

Ryuk laughed hard, "So you're keeping it? Oh, you'll see. It's difficult to resist when it's sitting right in front of you all the time, ready to be used."

He floated up a little higher, "And even if you do rarely use the notebook, more shinigami will come here with death notes. The humans here are so interesting."

Just simply stood there. "As long as no one knows my n-" Just stood still Crap. That Diary girl knows my real name... Well no matter. She has no reason to write my name down...

Ryuk laughed at his pause, "I knew this place wouldn't disappoint me."

 

Finally after 10-15 minutes the teacher dismissed the students. Koian got up and walked out, looking at teh floor. Koian looked at her next class then at her watch. Enough time for a short nap in the courtyard... She smiled as she walked down to the courtyard. When she got there, she lied down on a random bench and feel asleep again.

 

"You know, sleeping around isn't a good thing to do. It gets you a bad name." Luna giggled as she passed by. Stopping just infront of her. "And the class changes are ment to be instantious, or thereabouts I belive. Just to point out from someone else whose also pissed Mello off...... twice."

 

OoC: Could I RP Ryuk from now on?

 

Flare got up and left class to go outside, and passed by a sleeping Koin and giggling Luna. Flare wasn't very aquainted with anyone yet, but she still stopped over and smiled.

"What are you doing? Shouldn't you be going to class? Yeah, we have some time, but...it's not a good idea to sleep around in this school, or so I can gather from the proper and sophisticate feel of it.​

 

"Exactly, it's not very well mannered, or very mature. Nap time is something you're ment to stop needing when you hit three years old. And this place is by no means a preschool you know?" Luna commented. "Anyway, if you want to p*ss of Mr Manwhore any more then that's your choice I suppose. Though I dout anyone will appreciate you loitering around like this. It's really just not... right you know. But whatever." She shrugged. "By the way, I'm Luna. I think we met breifly in the introduction to L thingy. You are?"

 

OOC: Beyond Birthday should be in this. I'd RP him =D

IC: Diary grinned, happy to have made someone else smile. She then took out her cell phone to check the time.
"It seems I have about an hour until my first class, and I still haven't checked out this whole school. Are you busy right now?" she asked Near. He couldn't be that much older than her, and he seemed like a really nice person... Maybe they could hang out for a little while.

Koian opened her eyes. ''Fine... Well ill just go to the Libary intead and research a bit about Japans History. Im from America so i dotn know alot about Japan.'' She said standing up and walking away from the two. ''Oh and by the way, My name is Koi.''
